How Many Trips Can I Milk?~A PTR

DSCN1662.jpg

I don't know...I'm tempted to keep this pen for myself. It lights up when you write with it! My students would be so mesmerized by it, they might actually pay attention!

I have a pen like this except its cinderella.. and I have another pen thats filled it clear and in the middle is mickey blue and silver stars and it lights up to. My DF said "you don't need that" and i said "I's only a dollar and yes I do" hehe:rotfl:

I love the story of the engagement at Disney.. thats really cute and creative. I wish I lived close enough to drive there.. pfff. no fair! ;) It's funny how you meet people and somehow if you are both disney freaks- it comes out.. hehe I remember one time I was talking to a girl I coached mother. She knew I was getting married and asked about it- When i told her I was going to wdw for my honeymoon.. She was like "I love disney to- its my fav. place to go" and we talked all the time about it.. and even emailed eachother with things.. its funny how it works out! :)

Miss Botox is in surgery right now! Her paw became extremely infected over the weekend. I have to pick her up after work. I'll give you an update later. You know, cause I'm sure you all really care about my dog ;) !

I care! I care! Ooh! Me! Me!

UPDATE: Miss Botox is home from the vet, and friends, we're having a rough night. She had her paws operated on. Something had gotten lodged inside of them and had created a great big infection. The vet gave me quite the condescending look---which I didn't appreciate one bit!
Botox is still groggy from anesthesia, morphine, and her other pain meds. She won't eat and is just sitting here next to me crying. It's about enough to send me over the edge. There's nothing I can do to make it better! You can't help but to feel so helpless!
The only thing I can do is pet her and stop her from biting at her paws. (She has staples in them, and it's obviously important for those staples to stay in.)
I just hope she improves CONSIDERABLY by Sat. DH's mom is supposed to watch her while we're on our road trip, and I'd feel just terrible if this was her condition all week.

Oh, poor Miss Botox!!! My parents' old dog Buddy (who has sinced moved on to the Doggy Heaven in the sky) had his spleen removed. When they brought him home, he refused to lay down because it caused him pain. He wouldn't eat or drink. He literally walked around for 18+ hours until he was swaying on his feet and finally gave in and layed down out of sheer exhaustion. It was so horrible to watch and there was nothing my mom or the vet could do.

I hope she's feeling better. I'm sending you all lots of these:  Having a sick pup is no fun.

Sending love and doggy kisses to Miss Botox! Riley (my dog) and I will be thinking of Miss Botox and sending warm wishes and :grouphug: !!!

Sorry Miss Botox is not doing well tonight. Sending her speedy recovery vibes!

Thank you!

I am so sorry to hear about Miss Botox. I wish her a speedy recovery and hope she's running around and eating soon. It's so hard to see your pet sick or injured. I think it hurts you more than them.

My dog was diagnosed with cancer a week before Thanksgiving last year. I was so freaked out when he was sick.

Even though Miss Botox's situation is completely different, the agony felt as a pet owner, I think, is just the same.

Miss Botox, you, and your family are in my prayers for a speedy recovery :flower3:

I think it's so terrible with pets because they can't really tell you when they're in pain or what they need.
That's so sad about your dog. How's your dog doing now?

Sorry to hear about your dog. I hope she gets better soon!

Thanks!

Aww poor Miss Botox. I hope that she is feeling better soon! I know its not quite the same situation, but my dog was spayed a few months ago and also wouldn't eat, drink, get up, or look us in the eye  I felt AWFUL but fortunately by the next morning she had done a complete 180 and was feeling much better. I hope Miss Botox has a similar recovery!

I swear, it just kills you. First of all, they're so trusting, and they have no idea what's in store for them. It's so cruel.
I do have to say though that Botox is resilient, and she does NOT hold a grudge. No matter how many times the vet pokes, prods, and sticks her, she is still SUPER excited to pay him a visit. Go figure! :confused3

Oh, I'm sorry about Miss Botox, I hope she feels better soon. Our dog had surgery a few weeks ago and we had to have one of those big plastic collars on her so she wouldn't like her tummy and she kept running into things. She seemed to bounce back quickly so hopefully Miss Botox will too.

The poor thing! Those big plastic collars always look so uncomfortable, and the dogs look so pitiful when they have to wear them!

I hope Miss Botox gets better!

Thanks Winkers! I can always count on you for the perfect picture!

:grouphug: :grouphug: to Miss Botox......

Thanks!

Too funny! I know, it seems silly that I'd want a pen meant for children, but hey, it LIGHTS UP! That is fabulous! What a silly agony over a $1 pen!

There really are so many people out there who just love Disney.
I really need to pfff at myself---We do live close enough to drive, and we've somehow not made it back for a year and a half!

I care! I care! Ooh! Me! Me!

Oh my! That spleen story takes the cake! Why did he need his spleen removed? I mean, what on earth does one really use a spleen for? I feel like that's something I should know.

Sending love and doggy kisses to Miss Botox! Riley (my dog) and I will be thinking of Miss Botox and sending warm wishes and :grouphug: !!!

Awww, thanks!
UPDATE: Miss Botox is doing so much better. Evidently, doggie pain meds really work! It also looks like we'll still be taking the road trip. DH's mom has agreed to watch Miss Bo, staples and all. Thank you all for your kind words. It was so nice to read them especially since I was the only one home with her. (Grrrrr.....DH and LONG nighttime hours!) Well, now we'll get back to the regularly scheduled PTR, and you'll get to see what a sucker I am for all things Disney!

So happy that Miss Botox is feeling better. Can't wait to see more pics of her. I love dogs :goodvibes

Unfortunately, my dog had to be put to sleep. He was in pain and there was nothing the vets could do.

Now, I'm sure we've all seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Whether you've seen the fabulous original version or the creepy Johnny Depp version (no offense Depp, but you WERE creepy), you'll be able to relate to the following story.

You know the part where Charlie purchases the ONE Wonka bar with the money he finds in the street, and such the production is made of him opening the bar to find whether or not his contains an elusive Golden Ticket? Well, I myself had flashbacks of that movie scene today.

With Botox being sick and DH being at work ALL night, the thought of cooking dinner was beyond my mental capacity this evening. What is one to do when they're exhausted, hungry, without much actual money, and Disney obsessed?

To those beautiful golden arches:

DSCN1613.jpg

Did I really think I'd win anything? No. I am not a lucky person. I never have been. I truly don't think I've won ANYTHING, and I mean EVER.
But I am a sucker, and I thought to myself, "Well, there is a small chance right? Someone has to win." Clearly I was the type of person in mind when the lotto was created.

As you can see, I located my toy package. I had requested a toy for a boy (I wanted that fake tattoo!), but like MickeyD's everywhere, the high school student had trouble with that simple request, and thus I ended up with a toy designed for a princess.

DSCN1614.jpg

Here's my very own Wonka moment. Will I find a golden ticket inside? (Question: Do these packages say Look Inside in Spanish in all McDonald's? Is that just a South Florida thing?)

DSCN1615.jpg

After tearing carefully, ripping with my full strength, gnawing with my teeth, and then finally getting up for the scissors, I finally got the package opened.
Here is what I came face to face with...

DSCN1618.jpg

Oh look...what a shocker...I didn't win anything! :headache:
Well, there's always next time! (Tomorrow maybe ;) ...)
Looks like I'm still paying for my own Disney trip.

It's okay. There are more chances to win! Don't they always say that? We have a few Pirates and Princesses toys, too.

Glad Miss Botox is feeling better. It is hard to watch our pets uncomfortable in any way. They're such loyal, forgiving pals.

One of my students brought me a furry light up pen this week, too. It's Winnie the Pooh. She grins every time I use it!

Sorry you didn't win :sad2: But at least you got a tiara :thumbsup2
Are you going to wear it on your trip?

I'm glad Botox (I still chuckle when I hear that name) is feeling better and that you'll be able to take that road trip.....:thumbsup2

I'm glad Miss Botox is doing better. Boo to DH's nighttime hours. I loved your Golden Ticket moment, and yes the Depp version of Wonka is creepy!

I'm glad Miss Botox is feeling better. I took the kids to McD's last week and we didn't have any winners either (and they forgot cheese on all 3 cheeseburgers and they gave my dd fries when we wanted apples in hers :confused3 ) Oh, and our packages have English and Spanish too.

Happy to hear that Miss Botox is feeling better!:goodvibes

Oh my! That spleen story takes the cake! Why did he need his spleen removed? I mean, what on earth does one really use a spleen for? I feel like that's something I should know.

Ok, so I'll admit I have no idea what the spleen does either. But his had a large tumor on it. We found out later that it had spread and an even larger (and ultimately unremovable one) had wrapped it's way around his liver. It was so, so sad. He was a good dog.

The puppy they got a few years later, whose name was Ollie, has an even sadder story. He contracted some very mysterious and deadly disease at only 9 months old! After investing $10K (!!!) trying to save him, the poor baby's body gave up.

But to end this on a happy note, the breeder gave my parents another puppy out of the kindness of their hearts. His name is Cody. And he's happily and healthily in his second year of driving my parents absolutely crazy. He's worse than the worst toddler. Ever. And ever. Amen. My mom says that if he wasn't so cute he'd be in trouble.

Now, I'm sure we've all seen Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Whether you've seen the fabulous original version or the creepy Johnny Depp version (no offense Depp, but you WERE creepy), you'll be able to relate to the following story.

He was creepy, however I prefer the new version. Because I always though Gene Wilder was much creepier. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized that it was his interaction with the kids in the movie that creeped me out.

Would it be slightly embarrassing  to admit that I've "tried my luck" three times? (I'll never eat a chicken nugget again.) It has gotten me:
1 PotC plastic pirate ship
1 PotC tattoo
1 pink plastic Princess tiara
1 child's size pair of blue princess gloves
1 HUMONGOUS little girl's "dress-up" ring with a blue stone
0 free trips to Disney
3 cases of indigestion

Question: Do these packages say Look Inside in Spanish in all McDonald's? Is that just a South Florida thing?

Si. Estan en espanol en el norte tambien.

I have three of those. Wanna trade?

Okay, I am all caught up! I am soooo glad that Miss Botox is feeling better! What a rough time she has had with that (and you too)!!! :grouphug:

We had McDonald's for dinner tonight -- three of us (DH refuses to order a Happy Meal) got three pirate skeletons and no Golden Tickets! Oh well, now we can reenact the skeletons walking on the bottom of the ocean from the first PotC movie! :rotfl:

Interesting side note: ours did not have the Spanish on them. :confused3

Unfortunately, my dog had to be put to sleep. He was in pain and there was nothing the vets could do.

Oh, I am SO sorry. When I got to school this morning, one of my students was waiting out front. She's usually never there early, but I didn't question her about it since I needed help with something in my room. Thirty minutes later after I had put the girl through the horribly boring job of stuffing 150 envelopes, I thought to ask her why she was at school so early.
Her response, "Well, my dog died this morning, and I just didn't want to be in my house since it reminds me too much of him."
:guilty: I felt so terrible after hearing this. She's such a sweet girl, and you know, I don't think she would have said one word about it if I hadn't asked.

Oh, I wish I had students that would bring me Disney-related things! Alas, that wouldn't be 'cool'.
Can you even believe about those 3rd graders in GA? I thought of your class and how you have some troubled souls in there...:(

Sorry you didn't win :sad2: But at least you got a tiara :thumbsup2
Are you going to wear it on your trip?

Evidently the tiaras are made for people with shrunken heads. I have spent the last 30 minutes trying to get Botox to wear it for a picture. (She's such a diva. She refuses to pose. Perhaps she doesn't want her admirers to see her in her much-stapled state? :snooty: )

I'm glad Botox (I still chuckle when I hear that name) is feeling better and that you'll be able to take that road trip.....:thumbsup2

DH came up with the name, and it kind of just stuck. It is *slightly* embarrassing to have to call and make appointments for her though. It is however VERY funny to see the words "Miss Botox" on a prescription bottle! :rotfl:

I'm glad Miss Botox is doing better. Boo to DH's nighttime hours. I loved your Golden Ticket moment, and yes the Depp version of Wonka is creepy!

Yes, it's tough to work opposite hours. DH and I are really looking forward to the road trip this coming week. It will be the longest time I've spent with him in a long while.

Is it so difficult? I also realized that I was probably supposed to get cookies in mine. (Don't they come with a small package of cookies?) Didn't get them! Now as an adult, that's not a big deal to me, but imagine if you were a kid who was expecting the silly cookies?
Ok, ok, I admit...I was annoyed about the cookies! :headache:

Happy to hear that Miss Botox is feeling better!:goodvibes

Yes, you and me both!

Ok, so I'll admit I have no idea what the spleen does either. But his had a large tumor on it. We found out later that it had spread and an even larger (and ultimately unremovable one) had wrapped it's way around his liver. It was so, so sad. He was a good dog.

Si. Estan en espanol en el norte tambien.

Lesson learned today: Spleen trouble is expensive!
DH told the vet (as he was settling Miss Botox's bill this week) that if it had been even one dollar more, he'd just say, "Forget it. Keep the dog."
The vet tech's reply, "Oh no, not Miss Botox!" She was horrified thinking DH could be serious. She obviously doesn't realize that I would KICK DH OUT if he sold off my dog!

:scared: to 3 cases of indigestion! Terrible food! It kills me to ever order chicken nuggets. All I can think of is that one judge calling them a "McFrankenstein" creation. Appetizing, huh?

Okay, I am all caught up! I am soooo glad that Miss Botox is feeling better! What a rough time she has had with that (and you too)!!! :grouphug:

I'm so glad you're back! Can't wait to hear all about the fun!
Yes, we've had ourselves quite the week. With Botox's surgery, the car being in the shop for a tune up, Spirit Week and April Fool's by some freak of nature occurring within the same week, and trying to pack for this road trip, it's about all I can do to keep ANY sanity.

Interesting....

By my calculations, so far we have 3 wrappers that included the Spanish and only 1 that didn't. :confused3 Hmmmm.....

How is Miss Botox?

She is SNORING right as we speak. She really tired herself out by SUCKING on her stuffed animal. Have you ever heard of a dog doing this? She sucks on a part of the stuffed animal just like a baby would suck on a bottle. Usually she picks the animal's nose or it's leg. She'll do this for HOURS at a time. My theory is because she was possibly weaned to early  ? She's hysterical when she does it. Her eyes roll into the back of her head, and her breathing gets all deep...You gotta wonder WHAT must be going on in her mind :worried: !

Awww I feel so bad for your student. That's terrible.

I have never heard of a dog sucking on a stuffed animal :lmao: Dogs are funny. My dog used to do interesting things with his larger stuffed animals. Put it this way, I think he was under the impression that the stuffed duck was his girlfriend :rotfl:

Excited about IRA?
