2200 Sq Ft here, no basement and a crawl space of an attic.....

I also have a 2 car garage and the lanai which is like an addition to the family room during pool months!

1,600 - no basement. It feels huge to me, but the neighborhood is older - most of the new houses are 2000-3000 square feet.

I don't even know what I'd do with that much space!

My current house is 1640. I thought it was small, until we started looking at apartments to rent temporarily between houses!

Our new house will be 3444, so more than twice the size. It will be weird!

1850 sq. ft. single story w/ 3 car garage and no basement .

I answered in the 1,500-2000 sq ft but we actually have exactly 2,000 sq.ft. Full attic, full unfinished basement not included in that. Basements are also not included in the square footage when listing for sale....even if it is finished.

We own a 3 bed semi-detached, think you call them duplex (?), here in England (South East corner near the English Channel) and our Sq Footage is 900 including the garage!

Claire ;)

We live in the Baltimore/DC area and also have a duplex. (And for all of you from the lower cost of living areas, no this does not mean we own both sides!) It's a little under 1800 sq. feet. The funny thing is our (corner) lot is a little over 6000 sq. feet and it's considered a big yard for the area

2250 sf here plus a three car garage. It really is too big for just the two of us

I don't think I have ever seen a basement in my life, let alone lived in a house with one!

I want a basement! (I need a petulant, stamping feet smilie)
Could I ever use the storage space.

They're not unheard of around here - but certainly not common.
After I watched them dig our swimming pool out of almost solid rock (and got the bill for a hard dig) I know why.

We're in Arizona

About 3200 SF

2400 sq ft. We have a full unfinished basement too which we use mostly for storage & my DH set up a little office area & a play area for the kids down there. We do not count that in our sq footage. If we did, our house would be 3600 sq ft!

2104 sf. Not including the 2 car attached garage or finished (about 900 sf) basement.

Interesting thread. Wow your homes are huge!!! Unfortunately here in England space is at a premium these days esp in the South East near London :( Would love a huge home but would be looking at around $1,100,000  As it is our home costs $350,000 and is above the average UK house price and also the average size ie 3 bed semi. Our next step will be a 4 bed detached with either single or double garage and the sq footage then would be about 1200 sq feet and will cost us about $500,000 (at todays value).

Claire ;)

I thought our house was 3500 square feet, but I looked it up in our builder records and it's 3800 square feet. Yes, it's huge, but we have 5 kids.

I voted 3,500 square feet.

If we could count the finished basement (play room, exercise room, bar, full bath, and shop), it would add another 1,300.

2800 sq. foot single story no basement and not counting the 2 1/2 car garage

We live in a small house. It's just under 1500 ft but it works for us. :teeth:

About 2,200 Square Feet for ours.

That does not include the full unfinished basement or the full attic area.

Wow, most of these homes would be in the over $1,000,000 range in our area. We have a 750 sq. ft, 2 bedroom home that is valued at $650,000 when we refinanced 2 months ago... I'd love a larger home, but I don't think we'd be able to afford it without going seriously in debt. Although we might be able to get the rest of the morgage paid off in the next 7 years. Woo hoo!
