How many rooms can you book with a Annual Pass? In the past I have booked 2 rooms with the AP discount, but I read that now its one room per Annual Pass,is this correct?Any help would be great.

When did this change? It has been several years since I booked ours and used only one AP for two room.Since then, we have always used a code, package,AAA,etc and I did not know when they changed it.I even think that the limit before was 3 rooms, but I'am not sure.In any case,I am with everyone else and hope that a code comes out for Fall for everyone,or a good package. Thanks for your help.

Okay, I understand the part about one room per AP. This is my situation: DH and I are going with family in Oct. and we are paying for the two rooms. DH and I are more than likely getting APs, so can we get a discount for both rooms since there will be an AP for each room?

My problem is that, obviously, DH and I are going to be staying in the same room, so there won't be and AP holder IN each room. I don't want to take the discount if that would be deceptive or wrong, but I also don't want to miss out on the savings if they are possible.

Any thoughts? Anyone, anyone, Beuller?

If that is the case, just move the names around on the reservations. Put you in one room and your dh in another room, since you will both have AP's.

You could move everyone around every single night and play musical beds and no one would care or notice, so just make sure each of you have your names in the different rooms and you will be fine.

OK I can't believe there is no outrage about the one room per-AP change. I was planning on going in January and booking two rooms one King for the Wife and Me and one for my kids. Now I can't. I was also going to let the kids bring friends. Now I might book only one room. I might stay off sight and it I so that there is no way to keep the wife form wanting to go to Universal and Seaworld and Gator land ect. Disney is going to loose money. We did a week in February and if We all bought AP's at that time Disney would make less money on two AP room then with me with One AP and buy 3 Seven Day Tickets and 3 Six Day Tickets. I don't think they thought this one out.

I am curious as to what they will do when a parent wants to book an adjoining room for the kids. Under the new rules it looks like a no no if there is only 1 adult AP holder in the party. There are going to be alot of unhappy people with this one.

I guess I just don't understand this line of thinking. An AP is intended for THEME PARK ADMISSION. Any other benefits such as room discounts are NOT guaranteed and may be taken away at any time. IMO, if a family has purchased APs for the intended purpose then Mom and Dad and the whole family (age 3+) will have APs so there won't be any problems.

Why should there be outrage? We have six APs, we can get 6 rooms. We usually only need two though. We're happy about this change. We didn't buy our APs for the possibly discounted rooms, we bought them for park admission (which is their only intended purpose) and sometimes as a bonus also get room discounts.

If the pass was bought for it's intended purpose then no problem because the kids will have passes too, so they can get 2 rooms. An AP is not a discount card, it's park admission. Discounts are just a possible (though not guaranteed) perk.

Yes, when I buy a product I look at all features and benefits of the purchase. I am glad Quinn that you are in a financial position as to not need to. An Ap is not as valuable as it once was. I hope you don't use all the benefits of an Annual Pass so as not to hurt Disney. The only reason I bought an Annual Pass was for the room discount for my trip last February. But since It last a year we might go this January. You can see the possibility of the lost money for Disney if I don't go or come with less people.

You are not making any sense and how does my using my pass hurt Disney? I bought an annual pass because we go frequently and that means it's cheaper for us to have passes than it is to pay for individual days. That's what it's for and that's what I bought it for. No where on it or on any of the web site information does it say I'd have a guaranteed resort discount. It does say I can get a merchandise discount in some places and a small dining discount as well as access to the DDE and we take advantage of some of those things. But buying a pass just to get a room discount is a gamble, there may not be a room discount.

That is the problem. You can't see why someone would buy an Annual Pass for more then Park Admission. Yes, I know that they can take away things. What I am saying is they have changed the rules to the point where I will not renew and will take a year of two off from going to WDW. I think more people are in my boat than yours. I will go when Universal Opens Harry Potter land, so that trip will not be at total WDW trip either. Now I may be wrong and more people are like you. In that case Disney will not miss my money, but I think I am right. We will go in January to use my AP once again, but we will be bringing less people and spending less money as a group. Is this what Disney want's?

Now here's something we can agree on! I've never had any desire to go to Universal (and I'm only two hours away) but I'll sure be going to see that. If I see you there I'll buy you a Butterbeer! :thumbsup2

I also figure in the room discounts when I buy an AP. I live 3 hours away and ONLY go when I can get a discount. I would never pay rack rate for the Poly, those rates are crazy! The new system for charging extra for weekends is really going to cut into our 2-3 day trips. I won't stay value or mod so we may just start cutting Disney out of our lives if they don't give extra good discounts for AP holders or Fl residents. Oh well, I'm sure they won't miss our $4-5,000 a year, they've been packing them in like sardines the last year or so. Maybe it's time for me to grow up and get a real life;) .

The fact you can only get one room per pass doesn't really bother me and AP rate or not I've never paid rack rate, there's always been some kind of discount (AAA, FL resident etc.), however, I'm with you on the weekend thing. It will cut into any spontaneous runs up for a couple of days. I'm thinking of going from 6 trips or so a year to two or three and turning the others into a cruise or a trip to the Bahamas or something. Just the actual cost of rooms is getting so high. I'm paying twice as much even with a discount over what I did just a couple of years ago.
