I am hoping someone out here can help. We are heading to WDW next weekend with the out, I mean in laws. All of them, there will be 17 of us. They are not really Disney fans but they all do this for the kids. To make this trip a bit more intresting DH put together 50 trivia quesitons for them to answer on the trip there. Prizes will be awarded based on the correct answers. In case of a tie, we thought a great tie breaker would be the number of hotel rooms (including DVS, Swan, Dolphoin & SOG) on property. Can anyone on here help with the answer?

Another tie breaker could be how many monorails are there and the colors

I am going to move this over to the Resorts board for you. I don't think you are likely to get the answer you need here, but they may be able to help you.

I think my answer would be same as byoung's though! :thumbsup2

Have fun on your trip and enjoy the trivia--it sounds like a great idea! :)

If you count the "non-Disney" resorts that are on property, I would say over 30,000. There are 21 resorts total (16 are Disney owned) and even the smallest have close to 1,000 rooms.

It makes you realize just how busy WDW is when all of the resorts are at capacity :scared1:

If you need an exact number, you'd need to contact Disney (and hope they'll have the accurate information).

In 2006, there were 26,031 rooms in the Disney resorts, minus an unspecified number of rooms converted to Family Suites at All Star Music - if anybody knows how many of those there are, subtract half the number from 1,920 and also from the 26,031. Note that this figure include FW cabins, but not campsites.

But now, in 2008, you'd also need to know how many rooms were lost when the South Garden Wing was torn down at the Contemporary, and how many rooms (if any) were converted to larger-than-studio Animal Kingdom Lodge DVC units - and then subtract those numbers, too.

And you can choose or not to include the 2,853 rooms at the Swan, Dolphin, and SoG.

No, I'm not obsessive and don't have inside information :teeth: The numbers came from allearsnet.

I know!:yay: I know!
All Star Music has 192 Family Suites.:)

And don't forget the Hotel Plaza resorts, since they are technically on Disney property as well (and they get package delivery and such as well).

Here is another triva question you might wish to ask.
