How many resorts did you try before you found your "home"

So many of you have a "home" resort, the one you prefer above all others.

Just wondering how many resorts you tried before you found yours.

Just wondering how many resorts you tried before you found yours.

We have loved every resort we've stayed at, but the Poly is our "home" . Prior to our Poly stay, we stayed at CBR, BC, and WL...with the GF and AKL being post Poly stays. Like I said, every resort was great and we had amazing stays at all of them, but the Poly is just so relaxing with the tropical atmosphere and the beach with a distant view of the castle .

Our WL stay was our 8th trip and we felt that it was "home", but, we want to stay at every resort, so we have not been back to WL yet....Someday....

But in the meantime it goes like this..

Hoping by my next 4 or 5 visits things will change a bit..

First stay was at Dixie Landings, back in late '99. Then back again when it became POR 18 months later. Then, in 2003, we went and stayed at the Polynesian. On that trip, we went over to the Epcot resorts area and walked around. Dh stood there, looking at BW and said, "I would buy that vacation club thing if this is where we would stay..but only here.'' Never went inside, never saw a room. That was in August, by Oct we were proud owners of BWVs!!! It's my true 'home'!!! I've stayed at most of the other resorts since then, but I only truly feel I'm home when I'm at BWV!!!

When our family started going regularly we would always stay at the WL. We really loved the feel of the resort and always had a great time during our stay. We eventually ventured out, thinking we wouldn't find a resort that would top WL, (Oh, how we were wrong.). We stayed at AKL, Poly, POP, and a few others until we came across the YC. We stayed there twice, thinking it was the best resort until in 2011 we had to stay at the BC since we couldn't get a room at the YC. My mom was pretty worried about staying at the BC wishing we were staying at the YC. That was until we arrived at the BC and realized how much better we liked it compared to the YC. So, it's pretty safe to stay our "home" is BC. Too bad we have to wait a little over a year until our return. Probably driving my mom crazy talking about it .

We've done 48-49 trips so far, and we have weeded out what we like and are willing to pay for...

Values, we have no wish to try or stay at ... Solves that group..

Moderates, we've tried a couple.... CSR being the worse, never to return to...POFQ, last 2 trips we've stayed there.... When we stay deluxe, we always visited this resort for their food court offerings and boat ride to DTD to make for a pleasant evening and to kill 2 birds with one stone...then with our AP's, we decided to do 3 trips in one year, and opted to try POFQ and see how it goes.... We like it a lot !!

Deluxe is our favorite, we started out in 1977 at the CR north garden wing and did many a trip there....got offered a GF stay for same money as CR once and did that... Hated it...

We saw the WL open, visited there and said next trip for sure .... Fell in love and its our go to favorite, over 10+ stays here....our daughter did the CP, and we visited WDW many many times on her CM discount... Tried the YC, then the BC, AKL and Poly .... Those have all been ruled out for one thing or another, more so for price...

Bottom line, we love location...MK our favorite park and WL foots the bill perfectly...for 2 and 3 trips in one year, to afford these extra stays, POFQ suits us perfectly, compact size and pleasant boat ride to DTD..but we do have to stay at WL once a year.....

I've only stayed at 4 (a couple twice) but I'm about to do a third stay at POFQ. I consider it my favorite and first choice but it's the only mod I've stayed at. It was the third of the four I tried.

I've done one deluxe BC and I really like it. If I did more deluxe stays I'd probably try Poly or WL or AKL. But honestly I am not so into the deluxe amenities so cost is not worth it to stay.

I've done AoA and ASMu in values. I liked ASMu better. I'm not a fan of the value decor. I wouldn't stay at AoA again (and POP is last on my list) but on a budget I could do Music.


I am the type to find a place and it becomes my home. I wouldn't ever try the stay at every resort. I like knowing my surroundings.

I am like this, too! I've stayed at three of the moderates, two of the deluxes and two of the values (all over about 25 years), and POFQ is my favorite due to its size and intimate feel.

Ditto this for us! Poly has become our home and we're looking forward to our next stay there in August! Prior to Poly, we tried CSR, POR and WL. Since our 1st time at the Poly, we've also tried POFQ. While Poly is our favorite and our "home", we can only afford it every other year or so, so in the meantime, we'll rotate it with our favorite "2nd home" POFQ.

I agree - we love everywhere we stay. They each have their pluses but we love the EPCOT area.
