They did change their policy - they were one of the ones I called last fall to ask id they could let us know of listings in advance, and they said to just check the website. They did tell me, however, that the website is updated at midnight, not in the morning. They open at 9 (?) I think. At least 2x I called in the morning around 9:30am after seeing a listing after midnight (at least, I *think* they were new), and they were the ones who said, so sorry, too late, but we'll keep you as a backup in case the deal falls through. I learned to be very zen about this, and cede a good amount of control. I really liked Fidelity and assumed I'd end up buying from them, but it did not work out that way. I saw a better, "perfect" contract on another broker's site, just reduced within 48 hours (no idea what it was reduced from, but the reduced price was fair), and made the offer in the afternoon, randomly, and we had an accepted offer within the hour. As someone wrote above, the right contract will find you!
Great deal! This time last year, had offer accepted on 160 pointer SSR, Feb use year, points were banked and fully loaded. Was up for 85 a point, offered 75. Accepted, when it came through rented banked points as couldn’t use, brought it down to $62 including all 2017 points which I banked into 2018.
Was very happy with the deal.
Ugh frustrating! We've now submitted 6 offers in less than 48 hours. We've "just missed" each one.Our first contract, the first offer was accepted. Our second contract, it took 3 tries. The first two apparently had listings on multiple sites. When we submitted our offer, both times it had already sold on another site. We found that out from a phone with the company we submitted our offer with.
I made first offer on a contract yesterday, at full asking price, and it was rejected because someone put in a bid at a higher then asking price last night. I was not amused but I think/hope it'll turn out okay in the long run.
We're up to six offers now in 48 hours. I'm really not amused. Take my money!
