How many resale offers did you make before one was accepted?

They did change their policy - they were one of the ones I called last fall to ask id they could let us know of listings in advance, and they said to just check the website. They did tell me, however, that the website is updated at midnight, not in the morning. They open at 9 (?) I think. At least 2x I called in the morning around 9:30am after seeing a listing after midnight (at least, I *think* they were new), and they were the ones who said, so sorry, too late, but we'll keep you as a backup in case the deal falls through. I learned to be very zen about this, and cede a good amount of control. I really liked Fidelity and assumed I'd end up buying from them, but it did not work out that way. I saw a better, "perfect" contract on another broker's site, just reduced within 48 hours (no idea what it was reduced from, but the reduced price was fair), and made the offer in the afternoon, randomly, and we had an accepted offer within the hour. As someone wrote above, the right contract will find you!

Yes twice today I was too late on listings with Fidelity! Very similar to your situation.

I made first offer on a contract yesterday, at full asking price, and it was rejected because someone put in a bid at a higher then asking price last night. I was not amused but I think/hope it'll turn out okay in the long run.

This time last year, had offer accepted on 160 pointer SSR, Feb use year, points were banked and fully loaded. Was up for 85 a point, offered 75. Accepted, when it came through rented banked points as couldn’t use, brought it down to $62 including all 2017 points which I banked into 2018.
Was very happy with the deal.

We had been looking for awhile for a subsidized dues Aulani contract, which are few and far between. I have the DVC Resale Market app installed on my phone, got a notification of one with 400 points and emailed the broker...he hadn't even seen it posted yet because they go to the app first before being posted on the website! They were asking $112/point. We offered $100 they came back at $110 and said they couldn't really go any lower. We agreed to the $110 if the seller paid all closing costs, and they did. The contract (march UY) had no 2017 points but had 617 points for 2018 (217 banked) and they had paid 2017 dues so we didn't have to pay dues on those 217 points which we thought was a pretty good deal.

It’s interesting because Fidelity always seemed to have the cheapest prices, but that seems to have changed. They still get some super cheap contracts, but lately they’re posting a lot of contracts at prices similar to other brokers.

Our first contract, the first offer was accepted. Our second contract, it took 3 tries. The first two apparently had listings on multiple sites. When we submitted our offer, both times it had already sold on another site. We found that out from a phone with the company we submitted our offer with.

Great deal!

Ugh frustrating! We've now submitted 6 offers in less than 48 hours. We've "just missed" each one.

First DVC purchase of BRV (WLV at the time) took one offer. Second DVC purchase of AKV took two ofers; both offers were accepted, but the 1st offer was purchased by Disney at ROFR. Still happy with how things went.

For three offers, we offered lower prices and they didn't work out. Our accepted offers include: 1) lower price offer was accepted 2) full price offer since listing was reduced already 3) full price offer (fully loaded contract).

It really is all over the place. Just kept trying until we ended up with all the contracts we wanted.

I was bidding back in 2016 and it was somewhat of a buyer's market. I wanted VGF. So I put together a spreadsheet with all of the current listings for all the major sites and accounted for banked/missing points and just went down the line. I knew what I wanted to pay per point and just started submitting offers. First one was at $155 and I offered $140 (it was FULLY loaded), and we settled at $141 or $142. A few weeks later I stumbled upon a loaded contract that was listed for $140 but had been posted for 3 or 4 months...so I offered $128 with seller paying MFs...so I got it for ~$123. Buyer accepted the offer.

Wife wasn't thrilled that I bought another contract, but it's worked out so far (used those extra points for a trip with her parents), and that contract has definitely gone up in value since we bought it...so still a good deal.

Don't worry about offending anyone. I went through at least 3 or 4 sellers before I hit on my first purchase.

I made and haggled on 5 listings before I got what I wanted. Now I was deal shopping for a loaded contract with an April UY and was
glad it took me some time because I changed from a larger point contract at a cheaper price per point resort, and bought the one I
really want to spend most of my time at. Be patient and get what you want and how you want it, the deals are still out there.

I've made dozens of offers and have bought a total of 2 contracts. As long as you're reasonable and willing to wait a while, you'll find what you're looking for. As others have said, it's ultimately a short wait for a 25+ year commitment. Better to wait a few months now than regret your decision for years.

I just started watching the lists and one came up on FB and not on my app so I posted on the site this would have been perfect for me but I never saw it on my list and they said sorry an offer was already put in and they told me how to fix the app so i did. And later that day they messaged me saying that the last offer didn't work out and if I still want it to call or email before they put it back on the market luckily I checked my email and they accepted our offer.
