Gee, we only have 230. I'm starting to feel the "point envy" mentioned in another post. :earseek:

OK, back to reality...230 points fits our WDW vacation needs very well. We don't NEED more points (but it doesn't hurt to dream!) :jester:

We have 556 now and looking for another 100 at VWL.

BWV...320
VWL...135
BCV...101

EmptyNester, when I look at these polls I, too, get that "point envy"! (We have 230 OKW ('93) and 100 VB ('01) ) Then I remember that we've gotten the urge to discover other parts of the States and if we have more points, we'll only want to "do" Disney. Now we think we'll do one "non-Disney" and one Disney vacation a year. I admit, though, that I have to remind myself of this occasionally--otherwise we'd be doing another add-on!!! :o

Hey Hoosiergirl - I'm glad to here we're not the only ones who plan travel outside of Disney! As much as we enjoy our WDW vacations, there are a lot of other great places to visit too! (I don't think I'll live long enough to go everywhere I want to go!!) And until we have more than our current "3 weeks a year", one week gets allocated to WDW. The other weeks we explore the world outside of "The World" :teeth:

A mere 200 at BCV. However, since it's just going to be my wife and I on most occasions, that will just have to do until we decide it's time to do an add-on. I considered financing an add-on, but I'd rather wait until we can pay cash. We may change our mind if it becomes obvious that sold-out status will precede necessary cash accumulation. It's so tempting, particulary with the price increase, but I'm still practicing financial self-restraint.

:D We started with 270 at BWV and did a add on of 30 gives us 300 ,I want more maybe a resale in my future, always need more :bounce: :bounce:

OKW 230 pts. Aug. 1992
OKW 50 pts. Add on
Total 280 pts.

I can't believe how many points others have! - Wow! We have found our 280 pts. enough for us and we have used them very creatively over the years with our 4 married children and (now) 7 grandchildren. We have never used the points outside of Disney, I think that is really the best value for the points. Lately the children have tired of Disney vacations, (I guess after 11 years it's enough already!), so we've been using the points for cruising , and long weekends at Disney for ourselves. We do a lot of "outside" travel, having been to 112 countries but we love Disney for a quick "fix" every now and then. Really wish DCL will hurry & open up to cruise Europe.....

We have 250 points at OKW. We just joined in May 2002 and we're taking our first DVC trip in about 14 days. Yippee!!!!!!!!! We will be staying at BWV and OKW this trip. Our almost 4 year old twins DS, DD CAN'T WAIT.

Ugh! Suffering complete and utter Point Envy here. I have 150 at VWL and 100 at BCV. It will just have to do for the time being. My daughter is 8 and we take a one week vacation at Spring Break, usually to a non-Disney locale (although last year we did do the DCL). Then I visit family in Northern California at least once a year for another week. That leaves me a week and a bit of vacation time to do Disney. Last trip was 11 nights at OKW - first DVC trip. Lovin' it!:Pinkbounc

Original contract: 170 pts. at WLV
Add-on: 50 pts. at WLV before prices went up in June
Total: 220 pts.

Original contract: 150 @ vwl (2001)
add-on :100 @ bcv (2002)

Total of 250

IMHO: Not quite enough!

I wanna be like Terry S (900 should be sufficient)

OKW Resale in '98 @230
OKW Resale add-on '98 @70
OKW Resale '99 @220 for a total of 520 (Thanks Shontell 3x over!)

Can someone tell me the the how, what and why off adding points onto your original contract? Do you just purchase more points at the present price?
Also, what's a re-sale add-on!? Is this when someone sell their points?
Now my husband is interested in DVC but I'm totally confused!

When purchasing DVC you do not have to buy though Disney. A resale is when you purchase outside of Disney. There are many resale brokers who handle DVC and many other timeshares. We opted to purchase resale as we saved thousands (plus got many banked points) on all three of our contracts. The only disadvantage we ever had purchasing a resale is that we never got a neat DVC totebag that others received when they purchased directly from Disney. We figured that we could buy one with the cash we saved. ;)

An add-on is when you purchase additional points in your use year.
