how many pictures do you take?

For my last trip I stocked up on Memory Cards. I have 4-4G, a 2G and a 1G.

I also take video of the parades, shows, fireworks.

That was enough for 13 days.

It's better to buy them at home because they will cost at least double at WDW!

Wow. ..you guys take a lot of pictures. I thought 200 pictures were a lot but you guys can really take some serious pictures. My camera is an 8 mega pixel and I did not even fill up a 2 GB SD card.

We took a little over 300 pictures. I deleted some while riding the buses etc... so most of those were keepers. We also took about a 5 minute video.
We brought the laptop just in case but we didn't need it.

On our last trip we were there 10 days and I took almost 3,000 pictures. I also bought photo pass which had 600 pictures.

I am a picture freak though. ;)

I took 1000 on are 5 night trip last March. I do take an SLR and a Point and shoot. The point and shoot mostly goes to the parks, and the SLR for any character meal and around the resort. This year I may bring the laptop along just to have a spot to put them and then have them backed up if needed. I have several memory cards. Remember the more mega pixels you have on your camera, the less pictures you can get on a card.

I brought 2-8GB memory cards for my 8MP camera. I used up around 7GB total for around 30 minutes of video and 1300 (!!!) pics. Of those pics around 400 were worth keeping. But I have burned to DVD all of them and keep the good ones on the computer. I take tons of pics on a regular basis (over 200 at christmas alone :)

I'm a picture freak too. Was you 600 phtopass pictures before editing them or after you edited them?

DH took about 2,200 on our last trip. We took the lap top and external hard drive (we use it only for pictures) and uploaded them every time we were in the room.

I bought an extra memory stick for our last trip, just in case (we were going on land/sea vacation--first cruise for our girls). I just didn't know what I would need, and didn't want to have to buy a new stick at Disney. I asked when I bought it if I could bring it back if it was unopened, and was told I could. I almost filled up my memory stick, but didn't need to use the extra one, and took it back. I was glad I had it, though. It saved me some unnecessary grief.

This is why i bring the laptop.... I transfer pictures off the camera every night, which allows me to fire away pretty much at-will.

Figuring I can get one or two real "keepers" per 100 shots, es[ecally when kids are involved, anything that will increase the number of pictures I can take over the vacation is a plus.

I tend to take my laptop too for this reason. I also have a digital video recorder so I'm offloading all kinds of stuff.

For those of you who bring a laptop ...

when you get home, do you transfer the photos onto your home computer? That's my dilema. I use the software that comes with my cameras (Nikon P&S and Olympus) and am not sure how to transfer photos into the software once I get home. Maybe I should start using something like Photoshop, but is this the time to try and learn something new :confused3

My laptop is my only computer, but you could easily burn a cd with your pictures or put them on an SD card to transfer to another machine.

On our last trip (over Christmas) we took a tad over 1000 pictures. We have three 1G cards.

we have always used the photopass, plus my camera. I take pictures of everything, and each child wants one with just them, and I want ones with all # . On our last trip in December I had 200 photopass pictures and 365 on my digital camera. I am really good at trashing photo's I take that don't look great. We all still love to pull out the albums of past trips, so the more the merrier. I also like to see the girls at certain places every trip so I can see how they are growing year to year!:wave2:

I plan on buring them all to Cd too, the I'll upload the ones I want to edit at home.

1400 for our last 6 day trip just from dslr....100 more on the point and shoot

The last time we went, we were at WDW for 10 days and I took about 1000 pictures. I had lots of 1 and 2 Gig memory cards and used a different one for every day .... every night I took that memory card out and put it in a safe place so that I didnt' have to worry about the card getting full, lost or corrrupted.
