We did! :lmao: First stay was at the WL, when we took our girls for the first time last year, stayed at Pop. Came home and bought DVC within 2 weeks. Looking at signatures, it looks like there are several in the same boat. Just curious.

We did, but it wasn't based on size of the room so much as knowing we really wanted to take many more trips.

When we went in March, 2009, DH and I had done our research and were planning to do the tour and buy in during our vacation. The March trip was actually a last minute trip and, because it was "on the cheap" we actually were staying at the Pop (although we usually stayed at the Poly). Although the actual stay at the Pop didn't make us jump to DVC (like I said, we had already done the research and were planning on buying), the stay did make us 100% sure that DVC was the right decision for us, and that BLT, because it was on the monorail, was worth the extra thousands of dollars. Although we did have a good time during that vacation, because we didn't have the monorail, our entire style of vacationing was different than the routine that we had developed while staying at the Poly (disappointingly so). When we went back in September, staying at BLT it seemed that all was right in the world. I can't wait to go back in December!

:rotfl: We bought DVC after a stay in a Moderate!! :rotfl: We felt we were being priced into trying a value and couldn't bring ourselves to keep going backward!

Add us to the bunch!

We went on a last-minute trip with friends in September 2008 to take advantage of Free Dining and stayed at ASMu. After that, we started looking into DVC. We bought in February, and we took one more value trip in March to take advantage of the Buy 4/Get 3/$200 GC deal.

Our next trip was in May to use our developer points, and we've never looked back. We go at least twice a year, so DVC made sense for us.

I was looking at buying last March, we went in April. Couldnt convince DW that it was a good thing to do... So we got a promo code thru expedia for $100 off pp for a flight/hotel stay of 5 days/4 nights or longer. So, I booked an off-site trip... It was only $135 pp for flight and hotel, so we werent expecting much... We stayed at a hotel on 192, it was 1/2 remodeled and 9/10 empty. But rather then putting us in a new room, they put us in an old room. There was mold/mildew all over the bathroom, just a total dive!

On that trip we left Epcot and walked over to BCV and checked out SAB and thought about getting a "Kitchen Sick" but we wimped out! We checked out the lobby area a bit, the arcade and thought the kids would really like that. So, DW said that before our next trip we would revist the subject. We'll when free dining came up for Sept, we started to book another trip. And at the point where why spend that money on a trip, just buy DVC. So in June we bought a 30 BWV resale, and in July added on 125 at BLT.

We stayed off site once. Had many more trips in a value on-site. Swore never to stay off-site again. As the kids got bigger we started researching DVC. Last trip in a value (15 nights with 2 almost teenagers) we finally took the tour and bought within a month.

We bought DVC after a trip to WL. We just decided with 2 growing boys (10 and 13), that there just wasn't enough space in a regular room for us and all of the stuff that collects during our trips. We had been thinking about DVC for years, and finally decided to buy in. We bought 3 contracts, at BCV, VWL, and OKW so that we have plenty of options. We are very happy with DVC so far. We are contemplating a purchase of a BWV contract, but the maintenance fees there scare me!

:)DH and I had only stayed at All Stars or Pop since our first trip in 2002(no kids). Well there was that one trip to POFQ sponsored by my MIL thanking my DH for help after Katrina. Well last year I was researching DVC because we "do" Disney every year. When I realized how much we could get off our AKV points with a referral and then "free" 2008 points. We bought in almost overnight. It was a very safe purchase for us. We had already booked a Pin code room at Pop in 2009.....do I need to tell you how fabulous it was to get a studio with SV instead. DH has no doubts about our purchase now. It was wonderful...I mean we actually enjoyed the room and resort. DH brought his laptop and could take pics from the balcony. I guess if we "had" to stay at a value we would be happy but boy what a difference DVC makes in the Disney experinece for us. Luxury!!!

After three stays we purchased the DVC: two at Value and one at a Mod we decided that since we are no longer going to fit into a Value we might as well purchase the DVC. It will eventually save us in the long run with being able to get a 2 bedroom Villa.

We did, after our stay at POP. Pop was fine but the rooms were so tiny and far away from the parks.

We booked two packages at BWV - once in a studio and once in 2 bedroom. That was 1997 and 1999. Well fast forward three kids later and we didn't have that kind of money so we crammed into POR. Although POR was lovely....I knew it was time to join DVC! So NOPE..never stayed in a value.

Same with us. We felt we had already stayed in enough value hotels over the years and didn't want to stay at one just to be on site at WDW. We have stayed at a few moderates over the years and the price just seemed to be going up, up, up. So we really crunched the numbers to see if we could afford the DVC. Bought in May 2009.

We a took our first trip to Disney as a family in Sept 07 when our twin boys were 4.We stayed at the All Star Movies when the special was free dining with a 5 night stay . I told my wife that our next trip we were going to stay closer to the park. Sept 08 we stayed a week at the Contemporary ( Tower Baylake view). I had started researching DVC when we stayed at the Allstar Movies but I didn't want to commit to Disney so soon. While staying at the Contempoary I made an appointment and purchased our membership at the Park. This past summer we did our 9 night SSR stay using the developer points. We have a 8 night BCV trip in April and a 9 night AKV SV trip coming up in July. We stay in the 2BR and are officially spoiled

NO but we stayed one night at ASMU on Thanksgiving night 2008 and LET ME SAY........none of us liked it. That was our first stay in a VALUE. IT made us appreciate OUR DVC.

We stayed in a family suite and after being at SSR in a 2 bedroom for a week.....we were shocked at our accomodations :scared1: This trip was booked in like Sept...maybe even early Oct. and I could not get Thanksgiving night....our last night of the trip, so I booked this as backup. So if we ever had to do it again....we would NOT wait to the last minute to book a popular week. If we could not get that same night we would either fly home on Thanksgiving or we would get two rooms at a moderate if we could not book Shades of Green. We have become DVC snobs I think. My kids were shocked as soon as we arrived at the resort. :rotfl2:

We stayed in Beach Club Villas in early 2006 with extended family. We rented points at Saratoga Springs in early 2009 to come back - came a couple of days early and stayed at All-Star Music. The difference between All-Star and SS had us primed. We wandered across the street to the DVC preview center on the last day of our stay, and ended up buying at Bay Lake Towers.

We bought in after our first family trip to ASSp. It really didn't have anything to do with the value. Although we went during Pop Warner week so it was a bit crazy at Sports. We didn't buy for the deluxeness. We bought for the possibility of many trips to Disney. Now that we have it I sometimes entertain the idea of quick stays at a value to save on points. But I always end up staying on points because I can't bite the bullet and slum it at the values.

We stayed value twice then did WL. Found it a better experience. After WL we knew we couldn't go back.

We went a while back and stayed a value and did the tour decided it wasnt the right time for us. Been several more time and then this past marxh I had the disney vacation from hell staying at pop. Went to do the whole thing at the welcome center and bought immediatley

We did - back in 1998. 14 nights at ASMu with 2 toddlers was all I needed. Let me just say it was a long two weeks.

On the last day we were killing time at the Boardwalk when I saw the DVC kiosk. My parents took the kids for a couple hours and my wife and I did the tour.

We walked into the model unit and I said to my wife that if she ever wanted to come back to Disney we were buying into DVC. Signed the contracts one week later and have had some of th best times of our lives at WDW.
