My husband says I overpack. Well, he is right. I tend to bring things we never wear, but I want to be prepared.

My family (husband, 2 daughters age 7 and 6, and I) will be in Orlando next Wednesday - Sunday. On Sunday, my family will head back home and I will stay on for another four days for a conference.

How much clothes should I pack? I don't want to spend time doing laundry, yet, I don't want to bring lots of suitcases either.

Any suggestions on how many outfits to bring?

Also, I've never been to a conference before, so I don't know what the dress code is, especially when the conference location is in a casual atmosphere like Orlando. Any suggestions for what to wear to the conference?

Thanks,

When I go on conferences/trade shows, I usually only bring:

1 jacket/blazer in navy
1 navy pants
1 khaki colored pants
1 white top
1 striped multi color top or sweater set
1 black top
1 pair black slingback closed toes shoes

with that I can do:
day 1: white top with navy pants and navy jacket
day 2: multi color top with khaki pants
day 3: black top with khaki pants
day 4: navy pants, navy jacket and black top

all of that can fit in a 21" carry on.

I would bring one outfit/person/day for the vacation part. I would add one pair of pants and a sweatshirt because the evenings are still cool. Put that in one or two suitcases and send all the dirty stuff home with DH. For your conference, I would pack 2-3 pair of khakis/dress pants, comfortable because you will probably be sitting a lot. Then if you are having any dressy dinners or such and outfit for each of those. Have you gotten any information from the conference about what is going on-any banquets, etc. Do you know anyone that has attended this conference in the past and you can ask what to bring for clothes?

Thanks for the great suggestions. I am asking for more information about the conference daily schedule.

I am also an overpacker. I would bring one outfit per day for you and your husband. Pack an extra outfit or two for the kids. When you don't have it is when they will drop the mickey bar :mickeybar :mickeybar down the front of their shirt. Have fun.
