Hi Zoe,
I will join the band wagon here!! I am waiting for insurance approval but hope to have my surgery within 6 weeks. Would love to find others here who are going throught the same thing. We are returning to Disney in Feb and I can't wait to be the new improved (thinner) me!!
Yes, I have been to obesityhelp.com. I love that site. They had technical problems yesterday and all the posts that I personally had from July 18 to present are missing. My doctor has his own forum on there. He is a big advocate of them and recommends all of his patients to go there.
This is great! More and more!
I still go to my meetings(they are a big help!) and I still continue with my nutritionist, because the more I go into this new diet of mine, th emore questions that pop up! I feel pretty good, I still get lots of gas(but then again I'm only a few weeks post op) and each day is a new adventure for me.
I bought my new hand weights to help with the toning of the upperbody and exercise and I have my ankle weights and I do lots of walking. Any other advice?
The only advice I have is to keep moving. I joined Curves and I love it - having all different women around is great. Also, the surgery made me even more lactose intolerant so I stay away from milk products unless they are made by LactAid.
Thanks! I do take my vitamins and calcium, but the actigall is really bothering me! I started taking my iron and so far so good!
I do lots of walking and use my hand weights daily, for the toning of the upper body.
I wouldn't dare admit this on obesityhelp, but I stopped the actigall. The side effects don't seem all that good. Also, it only works on 1 kind of stones, not the other, so I'm not going to worry about it.
I take sublingual b12, chewable iron, 2 chewable centrum complete for kids, and calcium citrate.
Where did you find chewable iron?
I take my flintstones, chewable calcium(caltrate) and I just started the iron pills! I get the B12 shots once a month! I also take biotin to help prevent the hair loss.
I'd almost rather have my gallbladder out than to deal with this actigall!
I found chewable iron at a local health food store - John's in Bayonne, NJ.
Actigall causes anxiety, insomnia and other problems. 1 month and I was done. I decided not to continue. I'm sorry he didn't take the gall bladder out when I had the surgery.

I HAVE A DATE !!! Aug 20th at 2:00pm. That's only about a week and a half a way!! I am so excited. Now after saying that, I'm getting a little nervous as it is finally sinking in that it is only A WEEK AND ONE HALF AWAY!! Anyone with any tips for me? Any and all would be greatly accepted!!
By the way, didn't someone already ask the question about ordering smaller portions in the restaurants?
Thanks,
Sherri
I am looking forward to being a thinner me come Feb for our trip back to the Lodge!!
I don't know what I can offer as far as tips, but when I got home from the hospital it helped to use an abdominal binder even tho my dr. doesn't recommend them. I figured if it helped with the cesarean, it would help with this.
Find a protein supplement you can live with and keep it. You won't be able to eat enough to get in the required protein.
Get the vitamins right away and take them! It helps your energy level.
Most of all, just stay positive and DON'T get on the scale every day, lol.
