How Many OR/WA DVC'ers?

Hey All,

Great thread! I'm actually not a DVC member . . . yet!

Hubby and I decided to purchase and are currently looking into financing. (I guess Tammac is about the only option since we just refinanced our home and can't do the home equity thing).

We live in the Seattle area and went to WDW three times last year! We plan on going once a year or every other for longer.

Glad to see so many (well, since we didn't think many would be DVC owners in WA due to the "can't talk to you" dealio.

We have been talking with a DVC sales lady since we had her send info to our family's Montana. I guess she didn't realize that our area code is WA. Oh well, I am just trying to learn as much from her as possible. I think resale is the way we will have to go, but ya never know . . .we may need to plan an emergency WDW trip! ;)

Best wishes to all of you!

We live in Lynnwood, WA.
We bought resale through the Timeshare Store in 99. After having gone to WDW for our Honeymoon in 97, back in 98 and reservations for a 99 trip it made sense to go for it. And we have been back between once a year to year and a half.
Our DS took his first trip in Jan 04, we invited all the Grandparents and we all had our own units at OKW(our home resort). It was wonderful.
We are renting out our points for the next use year to help finance our passage on the Repositioning Cruise from FL to CA. I am sooooo excited!

I was just at the DS in our local mall last week and they hardly ever see DVC member cards. They never know how to give me my discount. The manager told me they only see them a couple of times a year. I know some of that is me but its great to see others from WA and the NW.

We live in Portland and have 230 points at OKW. This year we are doing a cruise (not Disney) just before Christmas and then spending five days at BWV. I can't wait!

We are just coming out of the woodwork. I have heard from a few of you about the DISmeet. I have 11 attending so far. I have PM'ed everyone about needing a head count so I feel comfortable about putting a deposit down for the DISmeet. People can PM or email me. Check your PM's if you haven't already.

Glad to see so many people finding this thread!

Great thread calypso a go go :chat:

Rsschneck,

I just emailed you a NAK... I'm so sorry about that. It ends up that the weekend that you planned is the annual "Crater Cruize" where Debbie will be driving her sports car around the PNW. Last year there were 19 BMW roadsters... and it was a lot of fun. We have pics on my webiste.

Maybe we can make the next DISmeet.

/Jim

Update:

I have only heard from a few of you about a DISmeet. I figure we are up to about 19 folks if we include kids.

I would have had to pay a non-refundable deposit to reserve a separate room at the restaurant. I decided not to pay the deposit. Just not enough response. So, as it stands we will still meet at the same time and place, but I just have some outside tables reserved (weather permitting). If the weather is bad we will be inside. We can stay as long as we want and can have separate checks for those who want to eat and/or drink. This way I do not need to have any money upfront.

I am flying out this weekend so I will post an official announcement on the DISmeet boards next week. Please, PM me if you are planning to attend so I have enough tables reserved. I will contact those of you who have PM'd me already next week.

I think this will be fun! I can't wait to meet a few locals that are as CRAZY:crazy: about Disney as I am.

Everyone have a great weekend! DH and myself will be in Napa Valley this weekend taking in the sun and Vino!:drinking1

Hi.
DP Maddy and I are in Corvallis, Oregon. We have 155 points. That's enough to do a Sunday through Thursday stay in a one-bedroom at BWV, then pay cash to stay somewhere else over the weekend, then do a Sunday through Thursday stay in a one-bedroom at OKW. If DVC opens at the Contemporary, we want to buy some add-on points there.

We like buy an annual pass and go to WDW twice within twelve months. Our last trips were January 2003 and December 2003.

Our next Disney hit will be a quick DL visit in January 2005, in conjunction with a trip to visit Maddy's brother and sister-in-law in their new home in Tucson.

We are also booked on the May 28th Disney Magic west coast sailing, which will be our first ever cruise and sounds totally wonderful.

We can't go to the meet on July 24th because we both work weekends (Friday through Monday), but it does sound like fun and we'll be there in spirit.

Cheers!
Janet

How weird that there are so many of us living in little ole Bothell, WA! We love the new Alaska Airlines non-stop also. Especially since they added the newest red-eye flight! We've been owners at OKW since 2000.:sunny:

I agree. We have tickets on that flight for our trip in January! Oh, if it were only closer...
