How Many Online People...

Have You Met In RL? I've probably met over 200 people so far. Lots were from Disney related groups and I also went to a 4 day meet in Michigan years ago with a group of people I met on the IRC.

So what's your ballpark figure on how many online people you've met in real life?

Just one. And it wasn't a good thing. DH used to frequent a chat room of some really friendly people - he still e-mails one of them regularly. One of the guys lived in Florida, and we went to meet him on our WDW trip.

Well, he was nice enough, as was his wife and daughters, but we didn't realize we were going to be preached to. He spent the better part of the visit preaching and trying to recruit us into his religion.

It was weird.

Ball park figure...none. Last May there were lots of us Dis-ers going to WDW. I had lime green tied all over the kids' stroller but, didn't meet anyone from here.Where were they all?

I met a few people several years ago at a mini Dis meet.

Met 4 wonderful ladies from the Reward Board last year at Hershey Park. We still keep in touch if not on the RB.

I belong to an online thyroid cancer support group. Several years ago, I went to a thyroid cancer convention and met many of them. It was wonderful to actually meet the people that have given you support or those you have supported.

I've never met anyone from the DIS.

I have met about 4 people in RL, that I chat to online. They were all fine encounters, and I am still in touch with them, and have seen all but one of them more than once.

I voted 6-10, I'm right at 6 for me meeting my online friends, but then when I add the 3 online friends of dh that I met, that's 9. Does that count?

DH was the best, though.

Just a few. None from the DIS. I met a few people from Cruise Critic on our Alaska cruise. Still keep in touch and hoping to cruise again with them. I've met one person from my "babies born in July 2004" group.

I'm at 5. I've met three girls from my old wedding board, 1 DIS'r and one guy from a photography board that I bought some stuff from.

I'm still great friends with my wedding gals and hope to meet some more DIS'rs soon!
