VAgal76 & Bambi - Thanks for the BWI info - DD and I think we're going to try a split stay there next!!;) I love AKL sooo much, but we are even *gasp* thinking of splitting w/WL next trip instead, since we haven't been there.

Bambi, I hear ya about staying on topic, I saw what happened with S/D sorority thread!

In keeping with our desire to stay "on topic", maybe it would be helpful to share some of our best concierge experiences, e.g., a specific thing the concierge staff has done prior to or while we were visiting that really embodies the "service" aspect of the concierge stay. Maybe we could include our favorite CL cast members and their commitment to quality?

There are many instances of magic and PD for us. Most recently, I was in contact with our CL pre-planner. I had a certain piece of merchandise from WDW that was a gift from my son. Through my own mishandling, it was lost.

I wrote to the Polynesian IPO and Melissa went way above and beyond the call of service to get it replaced. She tracked down the merchandise and before it could be purchased found that it had been pulled from the shelves during a regular merchandise rotation. She managed to find it at the (and I presume she meant) CM outlet. She purchased it with her own money and shipped it to me! I was, and am, so touched that she went that extra mile for me.

That's more than the usual or expected service and it's only one incident. . .there are more. Do you have any exceptional service stories to share?

Hi Everyone,

What a great thread! My family and I will be spending 8 nights at BC concierge in July! First time and we can't wait! We've done the Poly concierge and the BW concierge.

k&a&c'smom, you're going to love the Deluxe BW concierge! The extra space was great since I've got 14 yr twins & an 8 year old! The staff there is wonderful. When we were there in November my youngest had a tooth abscess and we needed to get him a prescription. The staff took care of everything for me, I just had to call our dentist back home. They even called the room the next night to see how he was feeling AND sent up an autographed pic of Mickey and a stuffed Pluto! They were the best!

Steffy - We took our very first family trip over Christmas! Yes, it was crazy, but we had an awesome time! Stayed Poly CL that time. Now we figure we've lived through the busiest time of the year, we can handle everything. Which is why we're going in JULY, in the HEAT with all the PEOPLE!

People think I'm nuts when I tell them we're staying concierge AGAIN
:earseek: But they don't get it! Nothing's better then sending the twins down to the lounge in the morning for coffee and muffins while hubby and I sit on the balcony!

Nice to be among fellow fanatics for once!!
Tracy

Thanks for the responses, guys!

One thing I'd like to know is that there's a whole new world of Concierge anacronyms. Can anyone esthplain them to me??

No time to say hello goodbye I'm late!! A very merry unbirthday to everyone! The weekend is here! Wooohooo! :)

We are staying at the YC CL in July. It will be our 1st time staying CL and I'm really excited.
Can someone tell me if the concierge planners will contact me or if I should get in touch with them about making our PS's? Also, do you know where I can find the e-mail address of the planning desk?
I know my kids are going to be so surprised when they find iut I've upgraded us to CL!

sarha here is the email address for YC concierge

wdw.ybbw.concierge@disney.com

We just booked our first time ever Poly concierge stay and I emailed the staff and basically introuduced myself. I asked for a few specific things (non smoking room, crib etc). I got a nice reply from them about 2 days later. They emailed me a planning itinerary that I filled out and sent back to them.

Hope you have a great trip!

Luckywife, thankyou for the e-mail address. I will be writing straight-away!
I am getting so excited planning is half the fun.
thanks again...Sarha

Yes, Luckywife, thank you very much! I will tuck it away for our December trip, too.

Sarah, take notes for me, will you?? I will be eagerly anticipating your trip experience!! :D

Welcome MickyMac, Sahra & Gottalovedisney!

Sorry, guys - didn't mean to get off track. I don't want this thread to get move either :(!

Like Tess, I would love to hear more on CL experiences :D! I haven't heard a whole lot about WL CL. Can anyone share their experiences? :sunny:

Hello everyone! :wave2:

I've been missing from the thread for a few days (life got a bit busy), but I'm back! :)

A few pages back I was reading mom_rules' report of the food offerings at the YC CL. I'm with you, Bambi, I think they must've beefed up their offerings to try to compete with the CLs that give you a bit more food. When I stayed YC CL there weren't that many choices (Dec. 2002), but I'm thrilled to hear that there are more now! Yum!

A few questions about Sugar Loaf (or concierge in general). We have booked the Lodge Concierge room, and would like to request the lodge tower room there (if there is one).

First off, how should I make room requests, PS's, and the like? Should I e-mail, fax, or call the Sugar Loaf IPO? Could somebody provide me with Sugar Loaf contact information?

Also, should I expect a planning packet from concierge, considering I booked a little later in the game? What exactly is the protocol for contact with concierge in general?

A Lodge Tower room isn't especially important to me, I just thought it would be nice if we could get one. Considering the views from SL are marina/bay only anyway, that really isn't a big deal for me.

BTW Is there any word on Sugar Loaf offerings as opposed to the RPC? I have heard about extended or improved offerings, but it is still unclear to me. Has anyone been to SL recently that can confirm this rumor?

Thanks for any help you can provide in answering my flurry of questions.

eclipseSD - I haven't stayed CL at the GF at all, so can't help with food offerings. But, as far as contacting IPO, I contacted the Poly IPO immediately after booking by email, and they emailed back within 24 hours. They will mail you an "Itinerary Packet," but that sometimes takes awhile. If you email, they will email an Itinerary form for you to fill in and email back. This will include things like PS's, room requests, Cirque tickets, any thing you might like to have CL do for you during your visit! If somebody doesn't come along right away with the email address for SL, check out allearsnet.com under "Accommodations" for a list of phone #'s, etc.:sunny:

We spent some time going back and forth about GF/SL vs. GF/RPC. I did a lot of investigating. Here's what I found out...Sugar Loaf does have Lodge Tower Rooms. However, you cannot book one. You may only request one. I believe there are only 3 Lodge Tower Rooms in the Sugar Loaf bldg. as well. We really wanted a room with some extra space so we went for a deluxe room in the main bldg. since we coudn't be guaranteed a LT Room in Suagr Loaf. It seems a bit silly to me since you can "book" a Lodge Tower room in the other lodge buildings. But, that's the way it is. We did get a AAA rate for the main bldg. You're right...it is a substantial price difference. We decided it would work best for us. Good luck with your bookings! Whatever you decide, I'm sure your stay at GF will be fabulous!!!!::yes::
:)

Thanks for the refresher.

I already knew SL Lodge Tower Rooms couldn't be booked, I was just curious as to how one goes about requesting one. Looks like I will have to talk to the IPO about this.

Hi Again! As I've looked into this myself before, I found out that the only way to go about requesting a Lodge Tower room in SL is the same way you make all other room requests. That is, when you make your reservation, tell CRO (or whomever) THAT YOU'D LIKE TO REQUEST A LODGE TOWER ROOM. The only way to request it is the same way you'd have them put a note in the reservation requesting a crib, non-smoking room, etc., etc...

Should you request that the fridge in the room be stocked with beverages of choice, or is it better to get your own? If I don't have a diet coke within minutes of waking up I get very cranky. My four year old is almost as bad about juice.

sojo33...at the AKL CL, you will have a complimentary fridge in your room. Just grab what you need from the CL and put em in the fridge for later!;)
I'm a COLD Caffeine person, also, so I know what you mean!::yes::

eclipseSD...I haven't experienced GF CL yet, but to get that room, call them directely and tell them how excited you are about staying there for the first time and how much this trip means to you and your family.....anything that is special that is going on during that time...anniv, birthday, celebration.....you're chances greatly increase with being nice. It's that simple.

At AKL CL, they knew that I was recovering from my cancer therapy and they made our last stay even more special....
anything I requested, they were more than happy to accomodate us. I just told Susan, who I have known since AKL day one, about our return to the AKL CL, and we've missed them and why we haven't been there...etc...
I made these special relationships with these folks thru emails and the phone...just talking away like they are family.
It makes them feel special about their jobs, making you happy.

I know how this is, because of my business.
When a customer leaves my store happy and excited, that leaves me with a great feeling of satisfaction. :teeth:

You'll be suprised at how much info you can accrue from all these conversations.
And of course, the actual CL experience will solidify what we are....

a LOUNGE LIZARD!!!!

also...it looks like we've got another lizard joining us!

Welcome Gottalovedisney!!!

I wish I had a dollar for every "rolled eyed look" and stupid questions like....are you going to Disney again?
And staying concierge?

hehehehe...with every dollar added up...that would easily pay for another CL stay!::yes::
