I think I'm leaning toward Nov if we go this year. Do you have any idea of crowds during the 3rd week in Nov?
We've only done the 2nd week of November; October was always our favored month, but a slew of family celebrations got in the way last year! I guess we were actually lucky, as my cousin & her husband were there in mid-October and ran into larger crowds than what we told them to expect - they had 40-60 minute waits for a lot of attractions, which surprised us.

I am so impressed with Disney's response to their guests. I just received a phone call from Michelle in the Exec offices in response to an e-mail I sent regarding E-ride nights. She said they are reevaluating the program in response to the many guests who are disappointed in the lack of off-season e-ride nights, and that they hope to have more in place in the near future. I can't believe they actually called! This was in addition to a more generic e-mail response received several weeks ago. I love Disney!

Don't know if I can wait 28 days - I am SO ready to be there!:hyper:

WoodysRoundup-sorry to hear about the death of your friend's mother. We lost a very, very dear friend unexpectedly to cancer last month, it makes it hard to think about anything, I know. My husband and I just sat and stared at each other for a couple days. It makes you appreciate the family you have.

steveanddonna, I want YOUR counter, I don't know how I am going to wait until June. I am surprised too that you got a phone call from Disney. I have been wondering about the return of eride nights.

We had a closing on a home equity loan today and the bank official and I got to talking about Disney (picture my husband rolling his eyes as this started) turns out she goes every year. I told her about our up and coming trip this June and she proceeds to rip me a new one about wasting money on a room at the Poly and I would be better off buying cheese and crackers and staying at POP and she couldn't believe we would take our children during gay days and she couldn't believe we wasted money on the CBR last trip when we could just go to the value resorts. I didn't know what to say, I was taken off guard. I just smiled and nodded.
I know I can come here and you all will understand that a resort is MORE than just a room.
I didn't ask her if she ever visited this site, if so:wave:

k&a&c'smom LOL! I won't forget about EWP now but I'm glad it was mentioned or I'm sure I would be the one running to the window wondering what was going on outside ;)

I sent back our itinerary a little while ago and requested tickets to Cirque du Soleil . DH will be thrilled with that news, I can't wait to tell him.

woodysroundup - I'm very sorry for your friend's loss. I know this is very difficult not only for them, but you as well. My prayers are with you guys!

steveanddonna - You gave me hope for e-ride night when we go in June! If it'll help to put my 2 cents in, what e-mail address do I send it to? Thank you for brightening my day - :sunny:!

I wanted to go to Cirque du Soleil, but DH & DS turned their nose up at it ! I just don't know what to do with these two. They are really two peas in a pod. I guess I'm the only in the household with a sense of adventure. I always tell DS don't knock until you try it. But this only works with DS when it comes to food and roller coasters - LOL! Oh, well!

Goodferry - I have a dear friend of mine that says I'm absolutely crazy for spending the money on resort accommodations. She's stayed at the CR and Poly and liked them. However, most of the time she stayed at ASM and she's even stayed at CBR once. Her reason (everyone has one), is that she can't take that home with her so she'd rather not stay at a deluxe and spend her money on things she can take home like souvenirs. I say, you can't take food home with you so don't eat while your there, too? It gets her every time! We laugh together on this still today.

Hello.

My name's Mickeymac, and I'm a Concierge Virgin.

I hope to loose this dreadful status when my husband and I take the honeymoon we never got and stay at Yacht Club Concierge in December.

I'm hoping to completely be lost to the addiction forever, by getting a daybed room and seeing Illuminations from our balcony. I'm also willing to sell my youngest (please!!) in order to support this intended addiction.

Any advice, pictures, tips, or room numbers, willingly groveled for.

Thank you.

CV Mac

Welcome MickeyMac !!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

....to our humble thread and the wonderful world of concierge!

ROTFLOL about your virgin post!:rotfl:

Stick around and learn about the WDW CLs here, my friend.

YC CL is wonderful and mom_rules is there right now.
On the previous page she posted the food offerings at the YC CL.

And there are some great links to the floor plans....click here!

and click here for concierge 101. :teeth:

goodferry...I almost lost it when I read your post....

Good thing I was drinking water....esp about the DH rolling eyes and then about her ridiculing your resort selections.
Man-o-man!!!!

lovesdumbo ...looks like you've "settled in" and getting to know the rest of us lounge lizards!::yes::

You know, we ARE a diferent breed !;) :p :sunny:

BT==She is just lucky we were closing on a loan and I wanted nothing to do with alienating her. This has been, bar none, the worst 90 days of my life and this loan is like the culmination of it all. This disney trip helps keep me going some days and for her to criticize my choices left me speechless, my husband put his hand on my knee under the desk and squeezed. I know that he was thinking, please lady, please, don't bad mouth the trip.:hyper:

Just before I go to bed, I have to check my favorite thread...:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Woody... so sorry about your friend's mother. I remember my Dec. 2002 trip kept me going after my Mom died. I was SO HAPPY to be back in WDW I really didn't know what to do...

goodferry... You had me :jumping1: with your husband's rolling eyes. It would have been all I could do to keep me from strangling her......

Welcome MickeyMac. :bounce: :Pinkbounc You crack me up. Gotta loose that status for sure..... Me too actually... December is it!!

Floridafam... get better!!!

steveanddonna... I've got counter envy.....:sunny:

Nitey, nite:teeth:

You are absolutely right, we do understand!:grouphug: I can't count the number of times I have been told we don't need to go to WDW anymore, we've been enough! And, I've quit telling anyone where we're staying, 'cause I've gotten pretty tired of hearing that's too expensive, there's no need to stay inside WDW, a cheap motel offsite is plenty good enough! I wonder how they would feel if I started telling them what they should or should not do with their time and money?!

Do what feels right, baby, ya only go 'round once, that's my philosophy!!:teeth:

This is so unlike me, but I love you people. Let's all plan to be at Disney at the same time and have a concierge party.

Goodferry--One of the things my husband and I have come to believe is that memories are worth paying money for and they are what lasts the longest. We took our honeymoon on the Orient Express because it was my fantasy trip. We went from London to Paris, Vienna, and Prague. The memories we made are priceless. I would much rather stay in a wonderful place with people that are taking good care of you, than cut corners so I can buy something that will collect dust when I get home.

Of course I realize that not everyone has such options and I feel very fortunate to have the choice. Don't doubt your choice.

MickeyMac - LOL! Welcome to the thread, you are too funny!! We just came back from our first CL stay, unfortunately it makes you spoiled, you don't want to go back to std. rooms!!

GROUP HUG!!!!!:grouphug:

(I'm laughing to myself, because I know there alot of lurkers that read this thread, and they are probably rolling their eyes now! )LOL!
:p ;)

I wonder who will be the 1000th poster on this thread?:teeth:

We DO have a wonderful group here!!!!!

floridafam...those pics of you and your family are very nice!
Thank you for sharing those with us!:wave2:

Alright my husband who knows nothing about what I am planning just came in and asked what I am doing. I told him that I was talking about our honeymoon and all the places we went to. He pointed out that I forgot to mention Venice which was the place I really wanted to go the most. Maybe the whole memory strategy isn't such a great one if I have already forgot where I went on my honeymoon. Surely, I won't forget the mouse ::MickeyMo

Hello again everyone!!! I made mention of the passing of my dear friend's mother just to let you all know where I've been for the past several days. You all are so nice, and I certainly wasn't expecting all your thoughts, wishes, and prayers. A BIG thank you to those of you who wrote something about it. We've been best friends for over 30 years. It means alot. :grouphug:

floridafam... When I lived in Miami, "yes" Joe's was only open seasonally. The only good stone crab I've had has been in FL and at Joe's in Chgo. If you want to have Joe's in Chgo. ship crab to you (closer to Michigan), call 1-888-LETTUCE and follow the voice prompts to get to the restaurant. They'l'l ship all over the country. It's AWESOME!!! ::yes::

k&a&c'smom Thanks for the info. on Pop Warner - makes me feel better!! :)

goodferry... Was on the floor laughing about your opinionated loan officer...geez louise!!!!

To those considering Cirque... "just do it"!!! You have to go!! I saw a show years ago when they set up an actual tent in downtown Chicago on the river. I've also seen two different Cirque shows in Vegas. I've not yet seen La Nouba but my brother has. They put on an awesome and unique show!

WELCOME MickeyMac!

Why, oh why, did I come back again? I should be sleeping.

And now I'll stay up to see who the 1000th poster is.

k&a&c'smom it just pulls my petticoat in a bunch when people tell me ... Disney again? Where are you staying? Don't you want to go somewhere else? grrrrrrrrrrrrr

Good night... really this time:) :) :) :)

yes, she does have a beautiful family and may I point out her DH looks like he IS an IRONMAN!!!!::yes::

floridafam...you're very beautiful, also! Nice pics!

Steffy...what can I say....we Luv ya !:teeth:

No quite 1000 yet!

Floridafam great pics. Thanks for sharing......:)

Woody, we need to keep each other's spirits up for the next 37 weekends......At least you have a counter....

Bambi... you need to be the 1,000 poster! What a thread you started.... The best thread on the resorts board, I think.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

So, do you think CL will be able to get me ressies for 1900 Park Fare for Christmas dinner? Yes, I'm still obsessed..... :wave2:

A bit of concierge-related magic clipart from Bambi for the 1000th poster prize?

My sympathies to you Woody'sRoundup--it's tough to lose someone you're close to and despite time, it doesn't go away--it only hurts less.

floridafam--loved the Vero Beach pix--we've thought about a side trip to the ocean, just can't bring ourselves to leave the parks. A few years ago I started adding days to our vacation thinking we'd head over to Vero at the beginning or end--just hasn't happened because we so enjoy our Polynesian paradise. Our biggest concern would be the "what if. . .it rained?" thing. At least at Disney you have something to do. Someday maybe. . .

This thread is a tough one to keep up with--so many of us. . .who'd have guessed. :wave2:
