Wow, y'all were busy after I went to bed!!! Thanks for all the love, I appreciate it. To me this trip is similar to traveling with a young toddler. Will I be able to bring home anything other than wonderful memories of a great trip, no, but that's what I want, that's why we go. The last time we went was in 2000 and we laugh and talk about that trip all the time. Back to the toddler thing, my youngest is one, and people ask why we don't wait until she is older and will remember the trip. Well, I will remember the look on her face when we ride It's A Small World and when Pooh comes to her table to play peek-a-boo, those are memories I will cherish when she is grown and gone.

I am up for a concierge get together, any excuse to go back::yes:: Your honeymoon sounds wonderful Sojo, that's why you have a husband, to remind you of the things you forget!

Great 1,000 goodferry. Now I can go to work.....

And people ask why we are taking my DGS who will only be 1 when we go. I ask, why not???? People who have not been to Disney, just don't get it.

That's why I love the dis. Almost 65,000 other people who love Disney as much as I do....

Who understand how I can be so excited about an event that is 246 days in the future.

How I can plan every day down to the minute, and be just as happy if we decide to do something completley different, and it's okay.... I'm not upset because my six months of planning went out the window because we ran into Meg at MGM and my DGD wanted to tell her about how she was looking for her while we were on the plane in the clouds.....

Why I would have paid for my video camera twice over just for the 60 second piece of tape where my DGD danced with Snow White in the parade, while my DGD had on her Snow White costume....

Why I'm willing to pay more for my vacation just for the services of CL so that I know we will be able to have dinners where we want and pillow gifts (I didn't even know this was POSSIBLE before this thread) and a birthday party for my DGD and have the bride and groom ears delivered to the room before we get there, so my DD and SIL can get rehitched.....

Well, I gotta go to work so I can pay for all this........:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :wave2: :wave2:

Steffy--I had no idea I had posted the 1000th post, while I was reading everything that was posted, I assumed you guys had gotten there already!:grouphug: :grouphug: it's nice to talk to people who understand!

I see we have a WINNER!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Tess...I was thinking about something special like a concierge clippie. And you're right about this thread...
I really thought it would fizzle out after a couple of days!:earseek:

NEVER knew we had sooo many LOUNGE LIZARDS here on the DIS!:teeth:

Steffy...Yes! They WILL get that christmas Dinner for you and your family! Let them know before the 90 day mark to get the time you want!:sunny:

goodferry....Congrats and I'll be PMing you with something later this week...maybe tonight!:wave2:

A HUGE WAVE TO ALL!!!!

Man, I missed it! Congrats, GOODFERRY!

Floridafam- I would have to agree with all the lizards on the thread that you have some nice photos of Vero Beach! Your little ones are cute! I love children's facial expressions. They really can make me giggle with some of the things they do :p.

Steffy - You have some awesome memories. I can't wait to make some memories of my own. Boy, do I wish it were June :D!!!! I don't think I could wait as long as you. I know it would drive me nuts .

Still watching that counter....it's edging near the 60 day mark :hyper:!

Bambi - Don't you think we need party/celebration balloons like clippie art for our parties here on this thread? :teeth:

Thanks everyone for all of the compliments on my cutie pies.:teeth:

Did you like the lizard picture? I guess he can be our lounge lizard mascot. DH loves the little things! (we all do)

I still laugh when I think about the time one came in on our Christmas tree in Florida and he had to chase it around the house 'till he caught it.:hyper:

Hey, why not ? Put some cool digs on him/her to dress up a little (depends which resort he/she will be staying at at the time - have to keep with the theme) & we'll be set? #1hockeymom can even have our mascot blessed!:teeth:

Floridafam I was just about to post how much I LOVED the lizard photo and was going to suggest that it would make a great mascot photo for this wonderful group here. Great minds think alike. I'm sure there will be even more posts before I post this....

Its is so good to have found a place where people understand me! I went to Disney 6 times without my DH and people were asking me if I was having an affair with Mickey.

I went in Dec 2001 and left DH with the kids and MIL couldn't understand how I could go after 9/11 and risk my life just for Mickey. That was the first year I didn't get a Christmas gift from her. Then in Oct 2002 I took my 3 1/2 year old and left DH home with 20 month old. Not only did I risk my life & my DD but I was 6 months pregnant. No gift in 2002 because Christmas is for kids but DH got a leather jacket. Then in Jan we all went. I wasn't going to tell her about the trip til after Christmas but then my DH's sister was running in the marathon when we were there (didn't know til after we made our plans) so I had to tell SIL and figured I had to tell MIL. She just couldn't understand why I would take such a risk for something so frivolous. And none of the kids would remember it. What could a baby possible get out of it? Well we all here know its nothing something frivolous-it is precious family memories. Memories I have of my children and they will cherish the photos and even if they don't remember the details of the trip having fun together as a family creates a lasting bond.

goodferry-I too wondered why your loan officer didnt just stay offsite. Hey for that matter it would be cheaper to stay home and rent a Disney movie.

I can somewhat justify the additional expense of the deluxe resorts by considering the costs of admission and plane tickets. If its costing that much per day it is worth some extra $ on lodging to be able to enjoy the parks more-less time waiting for a bus... and when I am on vacation I just want to relax! I cannot imagine my last trip with the 3 little ones without concierge. Sure one of us could have trecked from our room at a value resort to the food court to get milk or juice or breakfast but the convenience of the lounge was priceless. And what would I have given at the end of a long day to take the monorail back to the hotel instead of waking sleeping kids to take them out of strollers for a bus ride? I work hard so that I can enjoy my Disney fix. As a financial analyst I need my break from reality! Speaking of work I best get to it!

I'm so glad I've discovered all you lizards!

The pictures are great, someday I will learn how to use a computer and I will get some posted.
The lizard is awesome, the perfect mascot.
lovesdumbo, I hear you on the MIL thing, mine just doesn't get our Disney trips at all. That's ok, she doesn't have to, that's the way I look at it. Her idol is Marie on Raymond, that's who she wants to be. They also live right across from us, but she NEVER comes over thankfully.:teeth:

Calling KerryCM! - or anybody who is familiar with BWI! What is the difference between "concierge" and "concierge deluxe" at the BWI, is it simply the size of the room? TIA!!

p.s. DH didn't even tell MIL that DD and I have gone back to WDW this month - and she lives next door to his shop!!:teeth:

Had reservations for five nights at AKL Concierge at the end of April/beginning of May. Just found out I can sneak one more day away from work and decided to cut back to four nights at AKL and add two nights at BC Concierge :) I booked "standard" concierge instead of lagoon view. Can anyone please advise what "standard" concierge means and whether I need to make a specific room request for a "nice" room or does it matter? TIA!!

Welcome to the thread, tedmom! - I would figure the Lagoon CL is more sought after because of the waterview and the standard CL would be gardens/resort view. I really think it's just a view preference, but it's BC CL!!! The others would have to help out on room requests. I heard AKL CL ROCKS :teeth:! Wow, an extra night and you've picked two nice resorts - CONGRATS!

Tedmom, you've come to the right place. Kick your shoes off and make yourself at home!

k&a&c'smom - The Deluxe Concierge room at the BWI are larger than the standard since it has a "sitting area" in it. That's the only difference.

Welcome to the Lizard Lounge, Tedmom!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Tedmom....you've come to the right place! I was at the BC CL last month and LOVED it...And the AKL CL...LOVED it, too!:hyper: Those standard rooms are nice, they will have a full balcony and face the valet parking entrance to the BC entry.
Very nice and they pretty much have the same offerings as YC CL.
A good place to see the BC CL layout on the 5th floor is here! Click on this! LOL!
We were in #5674 and had a full balcony, 2 queens and daybed , and a full balcony and we could see most of the Illuminations.

Don't even get me started on AKL CL....
I could easily live there and be happy the rest of my life!::yes::

hehehehe....spoken like a true lounge lizard! :teeth:

lovesdumbo...by chance, are our MILs related?
and...

you just discribed the true reason why we stay concierge.
Another true blue lizard!

VAgal...I'll be making some clippies tonight, but we need to keep on topic or this thread will be moved to the CB.
But, a mascot clippie is in the making as of now!
Gotta get the creative juices going here!

goodferry...working on something cute for you to put in your sig. And I'll make it easy to do...ask Steffy!;)

k&a&c'smom...those BWI CL deluxes are about 40 sq ft larger, like a parlor area. Haven't stayed in one....yet! ;)
BTW...too funny about your MIL, too!

Some people just don't "get it" when it comes to WDW and the concierge experience.

I just smile and go on with my happy life!:wave2:

Tess... Thanks for the kind words! :)

Steffy... 37 weekends???? UGH!!!! I guess it sounds better than 230 days though. "The glass is half full". :teeth:

Welcome Tedmom:wave: Your trip is coming up:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc , my counter JUST broke fifty days today!
BT-I can't wait to see what you dream up! I promise not to screw it up too badly.

Thanks to the warm welcomes everyone!! We are actually "lounge" vets having stayed at the Poly concierge in 2001. Can't wait to enjoy the AKL and BC concierge accommodations this trip. Our plan is to knock ourselves out at the parks the first part of the trip and then recuperate at the BC and SAB before heading home.

Help me lounge lizards......

Will the CL be able to suggest good times to get to the parks based on attendance?

In other words, say I've messed up and actually act like I'm on vacation (don't boot me out the club now...) and I'm not at the park in time for EMH.

Will the concierge be able to tell me which park I should visit where I'll be able to get my stroller into the gate without wading through a sea of people???

Remember, I'm the one with no counter because I'm choosing to go to WDW at Christmas....   :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

Yes, the one that needs to be commited....

Looking for a 12 step-program.....

BTW,

welcome tedmom!
