OK That's it....I want to be a Lounge Lizard too, so I just upgraded my pool-view at AKL to concierge. OH, woops, I forgot to tell my DH, hmmmmm, well he'll be be surprised. Can't wait to try CL for the 1st time ever!! You all seem to love it and seem pretty hooked. It's 30 days away, should I call them to change my Boma PS to one of the days that I'm there(right now I have PS's for the night before we check in)Have I confused all of you yet? Sorry.

Heyyy!! litlpixie, are you going to WDW April 8? You must have snagged my AKL concierge!! Just kidding!! I have been calling 2x/day trying for AKL concierge for April 8-10, with no luck!! How'd you do that?

Bambi - When I called tonight, they tried to tempt me with a 1-bedroom suite, but in peak season, I was able to withstand them!! Even so, it is calling my name!! If I hadn't just put a deposit on DD's honeymoon in Seaside, I would probably have gone for it!::yes::

Debbie - good luck to your boy!!:jumping3:

Now BAMBITAMBY....I have another question for you!! Do you go every three months EACH year? If so, you are what I strive to be!! I was thrilled when I got DH to agree to a trip every other year (b/c that's what my parents did for us since I was a kid). I think I have him "talked into" going every year now (if he can go on his big ski trip with his buddies each year)!! ;) I must know, was your DH always as much of a Disney-a-holic :teeth: as you are, or did he grow into it? I'm holding out hope that my DH will be a convert but he goes to WDW for me. I just don't think he'd love it all on his own!

:chat:

LOL! Where do I start on that one?

no, we don't go every three months...been through those"dry" seasons, which is the holidays because my business needs me during that time! I have done WDW first week of Dec and a week before Thanksgiving! I keep thinking I'll give in and say "what the heck!" and book a Christmas week trip, but so far, no go!
Let me see, last time we were at WDW was August, so that's almost a 7 month DRY SEASON! ACK!:earseek:
Last year, only two trips, one in June at Dolphin, executive suite, and the other at YC concierge in August.

DH wasn't always a Disneyaholic! But, I found his four-letter word,
G-O-L-F and now, he can't wait to tee off at Eagle Pines or the Magnolia, his personal favorites.

I think DH gets pleasure from me planning these trips, and going on them , of course, because of my illness last year!

We didn't always stay at deluxes, much less concierge.
And now........:sunny:

Those suites are tempting, believe me, I KNOW!::yes::

On a more serious note (since you mentioned it), are you okay since your illness last year? I sure hope you're doing well. Happy for you that your business is going well! More Disney for you!!

Okay...so golf was the trick for your DH. Too bad there are no ski slopes in WDW (and NO, Blizzard Beach isn't nearly good enough LOL). Hmm....I'll have to work on another angle for my DH.

LOVE the "Disney Bliss Personified" on your signature!! LOL... Was it johnsonet who came up with that one? What's the significance of Dory periodically swimming by? Love it!

TALK TO YOU ALL TOMORROW...Good night! :wave2:

Bambi Yes, Yes, I know - not enough swimming...I mean, calling, I'm going to have to up my regimen!! Problem being, I stay up so late, can't get up at the crack of dawn!:p

This is hilarious ROTFLM(ears)O. Truer words, truer words. def: CAN = DO (at least in this household - but do love her and her ways!!) :jester:

thanks for all your PS advice!!!
I made three PS's that were important to us- the rest we'll just play by ear- and make the night before!!!

I'm getting so excited!

Hey Majestic- anything else you can tell me about WL CL???
Just humor me with fun little tidbits!! LOL::yes::

Hi Everyone!!!

Hey K&A&C'S MOM.............Just wanted to pass along some info. which might give you an extra push to keep trying for your rate. After days and days of trying for our RPC/GF Deluxe room rate, I thought I'd just forget it. Then BambiTambi told me that she heard that only ONE of that room type is discounted each night. Seemed even more hopeless! As she suggested, I played with the dates (going day by day) and called OFTEN and GOT OUR DISCOUNTED RATE!!!! I (We) ARE SO EXCITED TO HAVE THE CONCIERGE ROOM WE WANT! As it turns out, we only had to delay our departure for our trip by 4 days. I know how frustrating it can be to keep calling, but you may get your rate!!! Good luck!!

WoodysRoundup

Thanks for the encouragement!! I'm still calling, but I do sometimes think "What am I doing?" We have 2 days booked at the Poly, LV concierge, and 2 days already at AKL, pool view with AP discount. So, even if I don't get the AKL concierge, we'll have a great trip!!

But, I just keep calling - as you said, it may still happen!!

LOL...My thoughts exactly!!!
Except I'm loving the WL right now!!!
Congrats to you!!!

K&A&C'S MOM....You go, girl!!! Sounds like a great upcoming trip! I'll look forward to hearing all about AKL and Poly LV Concierge!!!!

::yes::

I started a separate thread, but will also ask all of you:

ok, here's the deal. We have a dear friend who has gotten us her castmember discount at the poly, lagoon view for $192/night. (we love her!) To upgrade to concierge would be $50 more per night. I want to know exactly what I would be getting for my money. We have 3 little ones, 8, 6, & 2. Is the food & snacks worth it? Are there cocktails offered? It will be the last 4 nights of a 2 & 1/2 week trip (dvc boardwalk & mil's timeshare off property), so we will probably be getting low on cash. We also plan to make more use of the resort (1st time there)...decisions, decisions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

kind of a "silly" question

I've heard that they don't typically put beer out at the concierge buffet in the evening, but that it's available upon request. How do you go about asking for it? My husband doesn't particularly care for wine, but I know that he'd enjoy a beer in the evening. Do you go up and ask the CM, or is there someone else that you ask?

thanks!

Just ask any of the cast members. They will get it for you no questions asked. :) (Well as long as you are of age....)

They even gave me more than one to take back to my room. WL concierge actually gave me Heineken. Not bad. There were two others I believe you could choose from. Can't remember them.

Magic princess>> I have heard that is the protocol, and I have done the same for a diet coke in the late morning! I didn't drink beer during my last stay, but I have heard that all of the lounges have it for the evenings, it is just not out.

wdwdvcdad>> Great price! Go for the upgrade to concierge!

k&a&c'smom>> Keep calling! I still think magic will happen for you!

Leighe> CONGRATS to you! Oh, I wish I would have made that deal with DS when I went back to college! I would have gotten two trips every year instead of a moretoreum on all trips while I went to college! :) Good luck and change those books in bed!

To those that knew my son was going to be playing at Joe Louis Arena on Monday evening/ night(BT and KAC knew, I think!).... it was great! more information on the S/D thread if you're interested!

What does my countdown say? Keep swimming, swimming, swimming!
Debbie

WDWDVCDAD, I have not stayed Poly Concierge, but have stayed on other concierge floors. Here's my advice... For your 4 night stay at WDW and the extra $200 it would cost, I would ABSOLUTELY upgrade to concierge. At Poly, you'll be in a separate concierge bldg. (which I've heard is very nice). Wine, dessert, and cordials are offered in the eve. and you can view the MK from the lounge! :earseek: With little ones in tow (like we have) it is SO convenient to have the lounge in the morning. It eliminates the extra step of having to go somewhere else for breakfast before you head out to the parks. You can either eat breakfast in the lounge or bring it back to your room if you'd rather eat while getting ready! I believe most offerings for breakfast are breads, fruits, juices, and cereals. I'd say definitely do it!! ::yes::

I just thought I'd ask again if anyone knows, pretty much, what snacks and food are served in the BC CL from morning to evening?

I'm getting ready to go shopping and I don't want to buy too much stuff when the CL may have an excess of say...GOLDFISH, my DD's favorites!

Thanks!:wave2:
