I didn't post about the upgrades either--we have also been upgraded x2 from GV to LV and it was during regular season.

Good for you :D The concierge building has always been pretty full. The year we had the GV room, we would have paid to upgrade but they were full.:earseek:

It makes little sense to pay $590 vs $490 (tax inclusive) p/n rack for what I'm probably seeing in person

Oh my gosh!!!! I had no idea people spent that much for one night in Concierge. The treats you get "for free" at concierge must really be something. :hyper:

how do I send a greeting to the concierge staff and introduce my family? My husband is a classical guitarist and thought sending a few of his cds would be a good greeting for the staff at AKL concierge ... as we are new to the experience do any of you have advice / info.? We do appreciate that these folks take time to make our vacation more magic...
thanks

For those of you who have stayed WL CL, is it ok to take food back to your room to eat? Having a toddler, I'm thinking it may be more convenient to eat breakfast or evening snacks in our room.
Thanks for all your wonderful help!

magicprincess,

I see you already saw my post on the other thread.

Yes, it is okay to take food back to your room.

LOL...thanks again floridafam!
saw your answer right after I posted on this thread!

Concierge folks! I have a few questions; if you could help I'd be extremely grateful!

Here is #1:

Are the itinerary planners actually going to be working at the concierge desk when we get there? Lauren, Tami, Stephanie and Amy have gone above and beyond to prepare for our upcoming trip, with all the surprises and I would like to meet them!:Pinkbounc

Here is #2:

I would also like to give them something for all of the PS's, emailing, phone calls, research and shopping they have done for the pillow gifts to be left each night for my DH and DD. How can I do this if they don't actually work at the BC Concierge desk?

Here is #3:
Could I possibly send them an ecard and some sort of gift certificate via email if we will never meet them? :p That is the only way to reward their hard work that I could think of!

Thanks for all of your knowledge about concierge travel! I need your expert advice since this is our first of many concierge stays!princess:

What a wonderful and gracious thing to do!
Just take those CD's, wrapped in tissue, for packing, with you and
present them on the last couple of days of your trip.

Some of the CMS are on a 4 day on, 3 day off schedule, so call right before you go to see who will be on staff during your stay.

If you don't have the AKL concierge phone #, PM me.

Welcome to our thread!

Hi, Sazzo'sMommy~!

The YC/BC/BWI itinerary planners are often doing their jobs at their phones.
And that ecard idea sounds like a winner to me!
We have several pages on this thread where we talk about gift ideas for those hardworking concierge CMs!
df99 had some awesome suggestions.
When I return tonght, I'll look for the specific pages.
If anyone else has some time on their hands, could any one of ya'll please look up the pages with "gifts for CMs" ?:wave2:

Now, floridafan, went all out and had flowers delivered to a trip intinerary planner for booking the Grand 1 for her !
That's another great idea!

Hellooooo to everyone else here!
Have a wonderful DISney day!

Helloooo, Bambi!!

The gifts pages start on page 7, for anyone who wants to go back to refresh their memories!!

Still trying for that AP rate, and to upgrade to concierge at AKL for the last two nights of our stay, but since it is the beginning of Easter weekend, I'm losing hope!! But, we have a fantastic trip planned already, so I won't be too disappointed if we just keep what we've got! What's money for, if not to go to WDW?!!!

:sunny:

Amy and the rest of the Itinerary Planning staff do not work at the concierge desks that you see when you stay at BC or YC.

I wanted to meet Amy and the rest of the staff on our trip last October but we did not get the chance.

I sent Amy roses last year after she booked an Illuminations cruise just a month out.

Any of the IPO staff will provid you with their office address if you ask so that you can have something delivered. You could send a basket of gourmet goodies, flowers, a plant, etc.

The YC and BC IPO staff are WONDERFUL! Amy is a true professional and I hope she is at Disney for a long time to come.

Sazzo's Mommy, I will be at the BWI while you are at the BC. Their planners are just awesome. Stephanie has been a miracle worker for me for my past 2 trips. In March it will be my girls only trip and we have bought Disney dollars for Stephanie and her husband to have dinner at the favorite place in Epcot. She had mentioned before how they love to have dinner in the different countries. I know Stephanie will be coming over to the BW to see us. She even came in on her day off last Oct. to make sure everything was all set for my son, his wife and my grandaughter. I loved being able to meet her and feel like she is an old friend now.
Nothing beats being treated so special by some very special people!

I love hearing all these wonderful things about the wonderful people who have been helping me so much over the course of the past two months! :)

They seem to have no problem doing anything that I just seem to casually mention on the phone or over the course of our emailing!:sunny:

I was just wondering if when you all have talked to them if you mention any particular requests about the room type or view you would like to have?

I have stayed at the BC many times, but never concierge level, and I know what type of room I really like! Do I mention this to them or fax the room assigner prior to my stay?

Thanks for all of your help so far! You all, too, are wonderful concierge people!:teeth:

You can mention a room request to the planners. I have done so previously and always gotten my request.

 Just wanted to make a quick wave to all of the concierge roomies!
On topic>> I have been emailing Sue at AKL concierge quite regularily and with every email I am getting more and more excited! I am trying to put together a PS list right now, but we're not PLAN AHEAD type of people! I know the week after Easter Sunday will be packed... ACK! What to do, what to do!?

I dreamed of AKL last night... can't wait to be there again in person!

Debbie

When you email the planners, besides making PS's, do they give advice on whether or not you actually "need" to book a PS for something. Or do they help with questions like which days are better to go to certain restaurants? I've booked a few, but not sure on some others, and I don't want to bother them with a bunch of questions!

Plus, you NEVER know IF you'll be upgraded to a LV!;)
When you check into the CL, just ask nicely and very sweetly, if there are any LV available. No promises, but it does NOT hurt to ask! :)

Thanks Bambi,

I was hoping to use the lounge for some castle watching or go to the beach... :bounce: As it is I feel as if I should just direct deposit half my paycheck to Disney as it is!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I just can't wait....::MinnieMo

We stayed AKL concierge last March and really enjoyed it. We got upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite and that was amazing! The Sunrise Safari was awesome. DH got the Disney Visa 7 for 4 offer the other day and I just booked the Poly GVC yesterday!!! We are really excited because this is our first stay at the Poly. I don't know if I would pay rack rate for concierge unless I was $$$$$$$$ but with the discounts it is not bad at all. With the 7 for 4 deal we are paying $280 a night for the Poly GVC (including tax!) :Pinkbounc

Patricia, WOW an upgrade to a 2 BR suite! How neat! I have seen pictures of the suite, and it really looks incredible. You will really enjoy Poly GVC too! :)
