Patricia, you have just inspired me to dig out the Disney Visa app that's been sitting on my desk for 2 weeks! $280 is a really good deal for Poly concierge. We haven't been lucky with AP rates lately, so I think it's time to try the Disney Visa route.

Is there a site or info that tells me what I get if I do the concierge upgrade, we thought about a trip after Christmas, at ALK savanna view

Patricia, WOW an upgrade to a 2 BR suite! How neat! I have seen pictures of the suite, and it really looks incredible. You will really enjoy Poly GVC too! :)

It was a beautiful room - several rooms I guess:) The walk in shower was HUGE. It also had 2 seperate balconies with 2 different views. Loved it!

Good luck- it really is a good deal. We would have liked to do the 7 for 4 deal last year but already had AP's. AP rates are great when you can get them, but we could not pass up this deal!

I've only stayed Concierge once and that was at the SWAN! LOL! So, I'm not really qualified to say I've been "Bitten" per se! I really liked having the extra room when the early risers could run over and read the paper, eat a little breakfast and visit with Mama T. I would probably do Poly Concierge or AKL Concierge next... What do you think?

Have any of you ever stayed only 1 or 2 nights at a Disney resort in concierge? Since we'll be there such a short time, I'm wondering if the concierge staff will bother sending us the "Personal Vacation Itinerary" that they usually send out. We really want to make the most of our stay at the Polynesian, which is why I decided to upgrade us to concierge. :) Any tips on making the most of such a short stay? We're not planning on leaving the Polynesian at all, except maybe to take a ride or two around the resort monorail :teeth:

SeaSpray, I'm staying at the BWI concierge on March 13 and 14th and got the planning info from the planners a few days after I booked. They got everything I requested at great times, except fot the night of the 15th in concierge ( they are booked up, so I move to waterview). I was so impressed with them I decided to ago back for that last night before I leave for home on the 19th. They contacted me again with additional planning information. Yes, they do contact you for one or two nights. That is what the planning team is for IMHO. I will stay around the Boardwalk most if the time, short stays are better than no stays.

The first time we stayed at the AKL concierge it was just for one night. During that trip we were orginally going to stay at the Polynesian GVC, the BWV and AKL conc. split between 11 nights. When we got to WDW we thought we would skip the AKL because it was too much packing and unpacking. We changed our mind back to our orginal plans. On our last day I packed up our bags and we checked out of the BWV's and went to the AKL. I couldn't take another day of construction at the BWV. We had the best time. We checked in at 9:30 in the morning. We only left the resort to pick up ds's bday presents in DTD. We stayed until checkout. It was so relaxing.

Now I'm trying to decide on our trip this summer. It will be our 10 yr anniversary (looks like there are a few of us celebrating this yr:D ) Our kids will be with us and the youngest is too young for the kids club. I'm trying to plan a romantic trip with them:confused: We are planning on staying at the Polynesian concierge and AKL concierge. I don't know what to do because I want to stay in a deluxe room in the RPC:lovestruc Too many choices;) I don't think I want to change rooms more than twice since we will only be there for 9 nights.

Ya'll have been busy here!;)

Disbug.....Debbie's saving a chair for you at AKL concierge!
Besides, it really is nice to try other concierges and RESORTS!:smooth:

SeaSpray...we've done concierge for 2 days, shortest time.

but....
as Bryd said....."short stays are better than no stays"!::yes::

And I think a concierge stay after a cruise is a wonderful idea!
And yes, the Poly WILL send our a PVI to you, in fact, they are one of the best about doing that!

and mirlow....welcome to our thread!
It's hard making all these choices amongst these wonderful concierges.
We'll be celebrating our 10th at the GF RPC this September, but I've been looking at ead79's BWI cottage suite pictures, and I'm thinking of splitting our anniversary stay. :earseek:

then again, who knows?;)

Can ya'll believe I called today, just to see if anything else had come available for CR concierge during our Spring break trip?
I know we'll be happy with the Tower room, I was just looking forward to trying out the 12th or 14th floor.
No rooms available, even at rack rate!

But, like I keep telling k&a&c'smom....do NOT stop trying to get the room you want!
There is always a cancellation!
LOL! I need to keep reminding myself of that, too! :teeth:

Hi, Bambi, hope you had a good weekend!!

I keep calling, but so far no luck, hope your call-a-thon goes better than mine!!

Contacted IPO by email, and they sent the Itinerary Planner to me, completed that today. There's not much for them to do, we already have our Cirque tickets, and most of our PS's, but we wanted to change a couple, and we made our room requests. It feels so much more real now!!

Everybody else, hope your weekend was wonderful, too!!:Pinkbounc

Well, after reading this thread I decided to try concierge at the Yacht Club this summer. I have stayed on the concierge level at other resorts but never at Disney. In the past, the mixed reviews of the service scared me away. Bambi Tamby, you should receive a commision for all of the people who have been swayed by your thread. I am really excited to try my first Disney concierge experience and I just keep telling myself to try to ignore the mixed reviews so that I do not keep second guessing myself!

Oh, thank you, Caryn! you are so sweet !

And others reading these boards.....please don't let someone's
"bad day" sway you away from the delights of staying at the CL at any of the WDW deluxe resorts!

LOL! on the commision! My "commision" is seeing everyone's excitement and confirmation of the CL experience!

Another thing I took into consideration of initially booking concierge at the YC/BC, it that the concierge rooms are centrally located. Go down the elevator, and you're right in the middle of everything!::yes::

Still swimming...uh, I mean calling!!;) I told the cm this am that I had been calling so much, I was sure they were tired of me. She said "That's ok, hon, you call as much as you like!" I thought that was very sweet!!

Just thought I would remind everyone that there are wonderful cm's, with just a few rude/tired/frustrated ones!::yes::

Have a good day!!:sunny:

I'm pleased to say that we've not met a grumpy CM yet in any of our stays.

I have a concierge question-I read somewhere that you can bring guests to the concierge lounge? Is this allowed?

mom_rules,

You're not supposed to bring guests to the concierge lounge. I'm sure they can come up to your room and MAYBE walk into the lounge with you but I've read a few posts recently about the staff at AKL Concierge (and other resorts) reminding guests the lounge if for their use only.
