ROTFLMAO, Steffy! :rotfl:

fran...reverse psychology sounds good to me.
I like to use the "I'm the lady with the wallet" psychology, too!;)

You know, we can't go on that cruise.....

DS graduates from 8th grade during that cruise and also the big 8th grade dance!:sad1:

Darn it! Just got caught up in the moment and wanting to do something with my "twin".....:boat: :boat:

fran...Simba's cubhouse is great! I've got it booked for my 6yo niece in June. Used it before with DS and his friends when we need some "us" time. They loved all the "free" arcade games!
And they also serve them dinner, if I remember correctly, you choose from a child's menu.

OK...looks like I'll be the one turning off the cappucino machine tonight!:wave2:

Woody, I hope your trip is truly MAGICAL! :wizard: Have a fantastic time! :jumping1:

JKELLY - The food at the Poly was very good! There were various pastries, danish, muffins, cereal, milk, juice, etc. for breakfast, nice cookies and snacks (M&M's, gummies, brownies, fresh fruit, etc.) for mid-day, wonderful desserts and cordials at night. The evening appetizers were very good, one night we had lo mein noodles and mini egg rolls, another night we had chicken fried rice and beef/chicken skewers, both nights there was veggies and dip, fruit, wonderful pineapple with caramel sauce, yummy!! There was a barrel next to the food counter with all types of soft drinks, you just help yourself, take back to your room, etc. During the evening appetizers, there was also a selection of wines, I had a nice Zinfandel one night, don't remember what kind. OH, and of course, the PB&J sandwiches for the kids, I think they were out during the afternoon, too, but can't remember for sure!

The food at AKL was also awesome - during the evening, the appetizers were brought up from Boma, and one evening the Boma chef gave us a cooking demonstration, passing out recipes!! It was a lot of fun - it's very hard to choose between these resorts!

And, thought I'd add, at the Poly they have large glass bottles of water out, but if you ask the staff, they will get you a bottle to take to your room (I drink lots of water!) At AKL, the water is in a carafe, they do have Perrier to take with you, but I don't really like Perrier!

HTH!:wave2:

*laughing* "I'm the lady with the wallet psychology". You said it! I love it!

DS11 (Sunday) will be there no matter what. DD might be there if she figures out that family is more important. DH will be home.

I don't have a qualm at all about sending DS to the lounge before I get there. He has good manners, and exhibits even better manners when in CL lounges, very nice restaurants, and the like. I loved it when we had AKL CL for the two of us as we had an extension to our room, a place to grab a pop (Michigander here, it is POP!) or a snack w/o dealing with lines. Do we need concierge? No, but it was very nice! I also loved always being "next" whenever we showed up for our PSs, great table, etc. They do wonderful work on that concierge computer! :) That being said, we do have lots of plans with the "sorority sisters" in the works, so not sure how many PSs we'd be making. I know whatever we do make, most of them will be changed last minute as our usual touring plan is "whatever bus comes first, we're on it!" We are "ultimate" park hoppers! (not the ticket, our touring style!)

Have a wonderful day, everyone! I'll have birthday boy present news later. Lets just say... A boy and his dog will never be parted!

Debbie

PS Thank you for your continued prayers and PD. My brother's wife is still in the hospital and we're all hoping for the best. Prayers still out for floridafam's son, also.

BambiTamby,

Thanks to you and everyone here for the continued prayers. I've been exhausted the past 2 days and haven't had much time to post. Hopefully, Tuesday will be a good day for our family.

Hey Lounge Lizards.... I have a question for you!

I have read about people arranging with the Concierge staff to have special gifts left for the family in their rooms at check in. But, I was thinking of something different. I was thinking of somehow having a letter sent to my kids "inviting" them to Disney on the dates we have booked.

I was going to type up a pretend letter myself and make it from Mickey and Minnie.... but, do you think that the staff could use some "Disney" Magic to do this?

BambiTamby - Congrats on the DCL! I hope you & your twin are on the same one & will finally be re-united :teeth:! Oh, what excitement!!!

Floridafam - - Wishing you well for the testing! Rest up, you'll need it for your trip that's sneaking up on you at lightning speed.

Annamonte - That's a wonderful idea! It doesn't seem to be to out of the way. I bet the CL CM's would have great fun doing it, too!

I was trying to think of what to get the CL staff AND what kind of goodies to get for DH & DS upon our arrival at each resort. It's been tough. I like BT's idea of getting something from home that they don't normally & something the local area is known for, but here in VA we are in peanut world! I was really hoping to go "shopping" at some the bakeries around here, but I'm so tempted to sample one of everything - LOL! I guess I need to do it for the greater good ;)! I think I read somewhere about a disney florist that does some cool things for "special gifts" for kids and adults alike. What are they capable of & how can I contact them? Any suggestions for an 8 year old that loves Mike from Monsters, Inc., Buzz, and a few others? I really wanted to get a little something nice for DH, too. Maybe Goofy related....Can you guys help me?

Thanks & Big "Hi" to all!

Hey Lizards! I need advice. I read this thread every day but don't post much because I'm still awaiting my first concierge stay. I'm so excited so I'm glad I have somewhere I can actually share this!

My sister's boyfriend called me last night and is planning a WDW proposal! He knows she's always wanted to stay at the GF so he's doing the whole nine yards! He's planning on late June - around her birthday. (This kind of trumps my "girls only" Christmas trip but I think it's definitely worth it!) Anyway, I knew you guys would be the perfect people to offer advice or suggestions. He wants to stay concierge of course but wanted advice about what suites might be available. He also said something about proposing on a boat. I think the "Grand" would be perfect but I have no idea if he would be able to procure it this late or even how to go about doing so.

DS is coming to stay with me this weekend to help me get ready for our Mother's Day dinner on Sunday and I don't know how on earth I'm going to keep my mouth shut!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Bye-Bye, Woodysroundup! Have a Magical, Wonderful, Exciting Trip!!!!!!!

:wave2: :jumping1:

Happy Trails to you until we meet again!!!!!!!

Debbie - It's "pop" for me, too! There are a lot of people coming into MO from other states nowadays who call it soda, and it gets hard for me to know what to call it anymore!!;)

annamonte - I know I have read about people who have had postcards sent to their kids prior to the trip, I'm sure CL can arrange something for you!::yes::

WoodysRoundup - Have a great time!

leighe - BT and DF are your "suite" girls, I'm sure they can advise. That sounds like a wonderful proposal, your sis is gonna melt!!:faint:

VAGal, you sound like such a sweet and thoughtful person! You have giving me some great ideas. . .I would've never thought about having the hotel staff put gifts in the rooms ahead of time! (Call me clueless, I guess!) LOL

I found the IPO phone number and called a little while ago. Boy am I glad :) that I did.

I spoke with Amy and she said that since I booked through a TA, Disney Concierge did not have my contact info. She is overnighting me my travel package with itinerary planning guide

Can't wait!
Thanks to all that responded.

I can't believe that I did this! I booked the DCL for the Panama West cruise. i think it's the same one as DF, but we'll see.
Got a cat. 4 cabin and I'm not sure yet what type that is, but it's the best DU could get us, so we'll take it!:sunny:

I'm tentatively booked on this one too!~With a reserved CAT 5, waitlisted on the CAT 3~! :hyper: But...as I have been fearing, DD will graduate from her Catholic H.S. the third week of MAY, 2005. That would put us SMACK-DAB in the middle of the CRUISE! (May 14-28). She does not want to miss Graduation...or the class GRAD~NIGHT at DISNEYLAND! ::yes::
So...we are booked on two others, as they had the shortest WAITS on the CAT 3's (1 BR suite). We're on the June 4, and the 18th! After that...we will come home, then leave again for WDW.
We can not swing the end of August trip either...as DD will be heading for college at that time. Did I say COLLEGE? Good Lord, seems like she's just finishing K-Garten!! WHERE does the time go?

*I wish we could get~together on this CRUISE-THING~! But, we are definitely planning on taking the Panama cruise in the Spring of 2006 (Yes...they are projecting a return). Maybe you'll like it SO much, you'll want to do it again!! :goodvibes I'm so SAD :( we "sisters" can not coordinate this thing! Please, let me know all your prospective dates of travel, when you'll be at DL, etc.~okay?

Debbie~Can hardly WAIT for the Birthday Boy news!! Did you say "DOG?" Oh, makes me miss my pup. The gardener asked about him yesterday, and it broke my heart to recount the story. I began to cry, as John reiterated my sentiments. He just kept saying he was a "special" dog, so happy and loving. He knew something was "wrong" (as Mac was gone), but he didn't want to ask. It's been a month this sunday...and it still hurts like yesterday. :( Hope your DSIL is improving. :D

Bye-Bye, Woodysroundup!~Enjoy EVERY moment! :teeth:

HAPPY FRIDAY to ALL!!

:wave2: TTFN..DF99

VAgal76 - I never would have thought of gifts for my family or the CL. Call me clueless  .

Anyone - I would really like :hyper: some ideas and tips on how to arrange this.

Also, I heard CL will NOT accept tips. So what kind of gifts can you give them, and how do you do it so you offend them??

PHP:
Beach Club CL in 106 Days!
with wife and
3 kiddies :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Please forgive me for asking too many basic questions.

I meant so as NOT to offend them.

Oh I should have reviewed that post.

Blowinbubbles - I wouldn't have know what to do for those sweet people at concierge if it wasn't for threads like this...or this site for that matter! I would've have been clueless, too! I love to take care of people. I certainly get more pleasure out of it then just being pampered myself. I can't help it! I've been told by quite a few people that I may have "missed" my calling and should re-think my career path. Though I couldn't leave my other family here at work, I could see myself in the travel industry, though :teeth:!

DF & BT - Same cruise, but one not being able to go! :sad1:sniff, sniff.... If there is a will (with lots of PD), there is a way! :headache: - You two are soooooo close!

GoofyJoofy - Those CM's really do know how to take care of you! I'm still trying to figure out to arrange something neat for DS & DH. I believe the CL CM's will arrange photos with autographs & possibly stuffed animals that you purchase. I'm hoping to get more details on the "disney florist" route to see if it would broaden my options. If someone responds to me via PM rather than posting, I'll PM you and pass the juicy details on to you. Otherwise, keep your eyes peeled on this thread - LOL!

Leighe - Wow, she's a lucky gal to be asked at WDW....especially if on the Grand1! I've not done it, but I have booked for my last night there. I believe BambiTamby is the same "boat", but has it booked for that Sunday before me. Ducklite has been a couple of times and has pictures of it via link in her signature so you can check it out. Feel free to PM us for more details!

I'm back from my interview! I think it went very well, but you know how hard it is to tell. The main person I interviewed with strongly implied that I will get a 2nd interview, so we'll see. I also got to speak with 2 other people who work there to get their impressions of the company. They seem to enjoy working there, so that's always a good sign. It would entail a lot of travel, so I will consider that very carefully if I'm offered the job. They did say that everyone in sales/marketing will be out next week, so I shouldn't really hear anything until week after next. I don't think the waiting is as bad when they let you know up front like that. So, we'll just have to wait and see! :)

GoofyJoofy - CL arranged for a beautiful plate of chocolate-covered strawberries with a large chocolate shell filled with M&M's last month. I just gave them my cc, and told them I wanted some of the strawberries, as DD loves them, and they emailed back with the price. Once I gave the OK, they arranged for them to be in the room the night we checked in. DD thought it was something they did for everybody!;)

Don't worry about the mistake in your post, we all do it!! LOL, I always have to edit my posts!:teeth:
