Really???? A stretch limo cheaper than a van??? :hyper:

We originally went with Mears, but my h got miffed at the fact that we had to wait; he demanded his money back, and we took a van for $50.00. From Poly to the Airport we took a regular taxi. He took the long way 'round and it cost $67.00!
 Needless to say, he didn't get a tip!

But. . if a stretch limo can be had for a decent price, well that seems like the way to go! :smooth:

blowingbubbles-sorry for the confusion-last year we rented a minivan(to fit the 6 of us) and even though I got a good rate with a special on the Disney Visa when we got there they charged us an extra driver fee so it would have been cheaper to have the stretch limo than pay the $250+ for the minivan rental for the week. The car rental was a real stress thing for DH and we rarely used the car. I thougt it would give him peace of mind to know that if we needed anything we would have a car but now I realize that if we really needed to we could just get a taxi. So anything I can do to make it easier for DH I'm going to try-maybe he'll actually have fun this trip and want to go again!

Well, I just made a reservation at rack rate for 9 nights LVC at the Poly 11/12 to 11/21. I'm not going to think about the total ($4,967.28) because I'm sure I'll be able to apply some sort of discount before we go but now I know I've got the room I want. I don't think I can talk DH into 9 nights (hoping for 7 or 8) but this will give us a bit of flexibility when the codes hit and for air tickets.

I did tell DH one thing last night that improved his attitude: Small World will be closed when we go. I'm actually disappointed that DD(1) won't get to enjoy it but it will be back when we go in 2005!

Going back to work now-will do counter later! I'm so excited! :Pinkbounc

lovesdumbo- my DH and DS-9, were both thrilled when I told them Small World was going to be closed when we go. I was really looking forward to taking our 18 month old DS on it. He dances everytime he hears the song.

I emailed Melissa at IPO this morning and asked her if she could arrange this "rehitching" ceremony I've heard so much about at Garden Grill. I can't wait to surprise DH with this. He embarrasses easliy so I am always looking for new and exciting ways to make his face turn 10 shades of red! ;) He's a good sport though so I think he'll get a kick out of the whole thing.

Fred - I don't drink coffee, but I do love the smell! Very nice!

WoodysRoundup - You go, girl! Maybe your family will be WDW fanatics, someday, too!!:teeth: Just a few more days, and you'll be looking at the castle!:sunny: If you have already made all your requests, sit back and relax. When you check in, the cm's will take good care of you!::yes::

lovesdumbo - do you have AAA? You can at least get that discount, until we see if AP discounts will be out.

How long will Small World be closed?! DD always groans when we pass that ride, she just despises it!! But, I think she secretly loves to hate it, ya know?!

katelenn - Welcome!! KerryCM is the one you need, hopefully she will pop in sometime!!:teeth: I'm going to be staying Boardwalk CL this summer, but haven't tried it yet!

WOW~everyone is up and at em this morning!:teeth:

DS had a wonderful birthday and still another prom this weekend and 2 shows next week!

Before I continue, I would like to say THANKS for the support on the "other" thread. I love you all and here you came to my "defense" when I wasn't here to defend myself!
LOTS of {{{{HUGS}}}}   to you all....
dreamflight...you ARE something else, my sweet- soul twin sister!
THANK you.!...and as always, you are so tactful and elequent!::yes::

You're welcome for the pics! Now, I'll need to stay even more and get caught up on my picture posting!:earseek:

mom_rules...good to see you back and posting! I finally get those YC CL pics for you when you're back! so sorry again!:o
And we love Fl Tours! Have used them the last four trips!

luckywife...that re-hiching thing at the GG sounds neat! I got to do that for our 10th this September!

lovesdumbo...no problem with those discounts for your time period. DH and I love to make a quick escape during that time for my birthday! So, those AP discounts are available during those weeks! Just wait!:hyper:

Woody...hehehehehe! You're getting there...almost time to sing "Happy Trails" to you!!!:sunny:

OK...here's another question....which suite would be better?
The AKL 2 bedroom suite on the end of the Zebra Trail on the 5th floor or the VP Royal Kuba Suite, which is one of the suites on the right side "dome" by the lobby, also on 5th...overlooks Arusha Rock. I'm thinking of doing that for one night...send mom and dad home and then move to a "regular" CL room for the remaining two days! Of course, fingers crossed that one of my AKL buddies will just keep us in the suite.;)

Just need some feedback from my friends here!

k&a&c'smom-I tried AAA but not available. I'm relatively confident I'll get AP by watching the boards. It's a Small World is closed May 2, 2004 through March 18, 2005 for a rehab of the characters and sound. My baby DD(15 months) has been a bit of a crank lately-she's just learning to walk, teething like mad and trying to express herself. She was such an easy baby that I don't really have any way to console her-she never needed it. But the other day we were alone in the car and I had a Disney CD playing and everytime Small World ended she'd crank so I just put it on repeat. Last night she was cranky and I was singing it to her and it really relaxed her. DH said "would you please stop singing that" so I asked which he'd rather hear-Small World or a screaming baby and he said it was a tough choice.

BT-sorry I didn't stick up for you on that other thread but I'm more of a numbers person than words and I was so mad I figured I'd actually make things worse. It almost made me swear off the boards for a while but then I knew I could take shelter in the lounge with all the lizards.

Luckywife-please do tell all about rehitching ceremony when you get back. I was thinking we'd do it as we are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year.

BT - Last night, that "other thread" was on the second page, and I thought it was gonna die, but somebody posted to it today, and I couldn't resist. I keep telling myself not to read it, it will just get me going, but it's hard not to!! Try not to work too hard, my dear!

lovesdumbo - LOL! I agree with your DH, that WOULD be a tough choice! Too funny!!:hyper: And, I agree, there will most likely be AP rates for your timeframe.

Edited to add: That's just a laughing smilie that got dropped, don't know why!

lovesdumbo- I will definitely let you know how the rehitching ceremony goes at GG....I'm really looking forward to it!

The song "Its a small world" has always been one of my favorites-until recently. My DS got the Disney Mania 2 CD and The Baha Men sing that song on it. It's not a bad remake, but hearing it ten times in the car over and over can really start to get to a person.
DS was singing it the other day and has completely messed up the words. The way he hears them singing it is..... "Its a world of FOLKS and a world of CHEERS. "
And silly me couldn't figure out why he wanted to know what folks meant in the first place.

My DH actually suggested this (if you can believe it)!!!!! Has anyone ever requested that the CL supply your room with diapers upon arrival? With two kids in diapers, they literally take up half the suitcase! Yes, I'm starting to pack!!!! I know about stopping somewhere on the way from MCO, just wondered if this might be another option.

lovesdumbo, k&a&c'smom and BambiTamby.... Thanks for the tips and sentiments!

luckywife... The re-hitching ceremony sounds great....Can't wait to hear about it!

Wow-------4 more days for us!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

woodysRoundup-requesting diapers sounds like a great idea. Please post any info you find out about it.
And incase I don't get around to it before you leave in 4 more days--let me wish you a safe and magical time on your vacation!!!!! :sunny:

Oh, I see! I *thought* that would've been a really good deal. . . LOL!

I didn't realize that your dh didn't enjoy Disney, too! Mine *really* didn't like it. . I plan on making things easier for him, too, next trip.. . .I'm leaving him home! LMAO!

I missed the morning java & high noon tea. Just stopping in for early afternoon snacks & plan to get some dessert & cordials this evening upon my return.

Hello to all the lizards! :wave2:

BT - I bet you are wooped after the weekend you had! We knew you were out and couldn't let them be nasty to sweet little you! Cool pictures....I'm just a big ball of excitement :Pinkbounc.

Woodysroundup - Since you're not taking diapers, can I take that extra space in your suit case ? Packing already! I guess will be, too, when it comes time for me.

Warm welcome to our newest lizard, katelenn!
 KerryCM has been recently and loves the BWI CL!

Well....Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to class I go!

Me Too...("The OTHER thread"). Isn't is DEAD already?? argh!! I keep waiting for a MOD to close it (& still keeping my fingers crossed).

BambiTamby~I just could not help myself! After all, the only thing necessary for true evil/injustice to prosper...is for GOOD WOMEN to do nothing. So, I DID something! (lol). ;) You deserved none of the comments...only PRAISE! Keep smiling.
:sunny: BTW...the "VP Royal Kuba Suite" has MY NAME all over it! It's the one I want to reserve when we stay @ AKL. I would definitely GO for this!!

lovesdumbo~boy, it truly can leave a "bad" taste in your mouth (negative attacks and comments posted on the other thread), but it's so nice to be able to retreat to the (elite) CL LOUNGE with all the other loving lizards! ::yes::

WoodysRoundup~Have a MAGICAL time! Diapers (for CL request) would be a FAB idea! Let us all know how this pans~out. What a great "space/time saver" this would be for so many parents. ;) My own DD has been out of them for a LONG time...but not SO long, I can not recall the hassles associated with Diapers/traveling! Good luck. :goodvibes

blowinbubbles~:rotfl: TOO FUNNY!!

FYI...I posted a couple of pics from our trip to Disneyland this weekend! ~They are on the Swan/Dolphin thread. We rode the new ToT attraction, and braved the RECORD heatwave (highest yesterday @ 103~!). :sunny: We always have a GREAT time there. ::yes::

luckywife~What's the "rehitching" ceremony all about? Could you offer some details, etc.? Thanks...it sounds like something I too would like to "SPRING" on my sweet DH! LOL...
:p He would be so surprised!! He He....

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

BT - somehow, I missed your question on your last post. Hmmm, I'm probably not the one to respond, never having stayed in a suite, but here goes!!;) I think I would take the one overlooking Arusha Rock, not so far to walk, but that's just me, Debbie would probably suggest the one on the end, so you can get a look at her dear ankole baby!!:teeth:

DF - Looks like we posted at the same time!!:teeth:  And let me just add, for any visitors who might get the wrong impression, I just wanted it to "die" due to the negative comments, not because somebody had a differing opinion. This thread is not about squashing dissent, but sharing ideas, and welcoming everyone, that's why it's so great!!:sunny: DF, you have always seemed like a class act, to me, if somebody else doesn't "get it," that's their problem, not yours!!::yes::

We DID! :wave2:  And ...Did you by any chance mean Debbie's "DEER ANKOLE FAMILY?" :teeth:  LOL...

:sunny: DF99

*I too read something on another (not to be named) thread, and it seems like the LURKERS are out in FULL FORCE! Too funny...LOL~!

LOL!! I did it again! I went back to edit my post, and we crossed each other again! Too funny!

Are we connected too? :rotfl: I also read something on "another" thread about some people being "MAD" about some thread still being there? What is THAT all about? (LOL). When did ANYONE mention the word: MAD?!? It's like that silly "campfire" game, where the first person in the circle whispers a sentence into the next persons ear...and so on...and so on, until the end result is REVEALED! It's how things become misconstrued...through simple "misinterpretation" by others. No one here ever wrote anything about being MAD about the "other" thread...so, obviously, it does not pertain to any of us! (Sigh of relief!). Thanks again, for the sweet & kind words. Right back Atcha, too! ::yes::
