Nobody MOVE! First...we do a head-count, then a CELL-CHECK, then everyone is on official LOCK-DOWN! No posting on OTHER threads...LOL. I MEAN IT! You have your "OWN" thread, right here. Okay?? If anyone is even "seen" LURKING on another thread, it'll mean ANKLE BRACELETS for everyone!!

I just HAD to write "something" as things went a bit too far. When someone crosses my SISTER, it hurts me too. ( BT)

:teeth: DF - hehehehe! :rotfl:

k&a&c'smom - Cool clippie you got there! For the WL I've requested a woodsview/MK as I would like to see the castle if it's possible - even a peek would satisfy me. I think they have innercourt views @ WL that are nice, too. BWI - water or garden???? The waterview is going to be of the boardwalk/lake (from what I read) and then there is the gardenview. Yikes, that's a tough one! Both views has it's advantages so are you a water or garden view kind of gal? I think we'll have to consult Woodysroundup on the view choices at WL when she returns so we can have up to date information ;).

Woodysroundup - :hyper: :cool1: single digits to WL CL!

Mornin' to all the lizards & off to the soccer fields we go.

really taken aback when I read what someone had said on the "other" thread. I read each and every post there and saw how BT had given them something humorus to look at about turn-down service and then WHAM-O, someone goes and says something that was rude, uncalled for and didn't even make a bit of sense. I haven't spent a lot of time on this thread but ANYTIME I have been here, EVERYONE has been helpful, considerate and taken time to answer even the silliest questions I have asked. It's a sad thing that people should have to defend someone when all they did in the first place was offer an opinion. You guys are great and this is one place where I know I can come and not be flamed, put down or made fun of. THANK YOU!

Ok- so I'm not totally off-topic here....I emailed IPO again yesterday after not hearing from anyone for several days. I explained to her (nicely, of course :D ) that I hadn't heard from anyone and basically resent the email I had sent before. Melissa wrote me back in matter of hours and apologized and said they hadn't ever received my first email. I kind of thought that may have been the problem. She answered my questions, gave me prices for the Fantasmic dinner package and she is arranging a sitter for us so DH and I can go out one night. Her help so far has been great!

*totally cracking up laughing* Head count? Lock down? bwaahahahahahah! I think I am a lost soul on all threads as there is no way I will be able to always stay concierge unless I win the lotto - and I don't play the lottery!

Have a wonderful day, everyone! Keep your head up, your feet dry and smile at everything!

Debbie

PS Looks like we're all in trouble for posting on the "other" thread since some people chose not to post here. I am pretty sure we still have the sign up welcoming EVERYONE!

I think you hit on the head, Debbie! Can you hear me groaning (go ahead & write me up on that one)? I also agree that everyone has always been welcomed on this thread even the DISers that have had a negative experience at one of the resorts. In fact, I believe you guys went out of your way to express your sorrow that they did not have the best of times.

Well, no matter what, this thread still rules in my book :teeth:. We love to add new lizards, don't we? ::yes:: The more, the merrier :grouphug:.

PS - DS's team won both games today!! His team is rocking this year & are practically undefeated (1 game they tied the other team). He's on :cloud9:! Go, Fire, Go! (Fire is their team name) :cheer2:

OK you people are costing me $$ now. I was perfectly content with my AKL Deluxe Savanah room, then I had to read about the Concierge experience. We are now booked AKL Concierge. This better be as good as you say LOL.

So will my DD15 and her friend be able to do homework in this Lounge? To busy, Loud? Is there a particular time that would be better? We are going in Sept. and I am pulling out of school for this trip. Both are honor roll students so missing school at this time wont be to much of an issue.

When will I hear from them to make PS. I am looking for Sunrise Safari of course, and I heard there is a Pirate thing out of the Poly for my DS5, and the usual dinners.

Its funny as I made the ressies the CM said it would save me $$ on food. After all msgs i have read here I thought the food was sparce. Maybe a continental breakfast and some snacks.

I was going to do a Chef Mickey bkfst, Laua (SP) and of course O'Hanas. Any suggestions for my stay would be welcome.

fran99999 - WElCOME! Yes, your DD and friend should have no problem doing homework in the lounge, there is a TV on most of the time, but the lounge is pretty spread out, I don't think it will bother them.

I would definitely contact them, if I were you, sometimes the Safari's get booked up, so you need to tell them ASAP. The address is "wdw.aklodge.concierge@disney.com" just get in touch and they should email back within 24 hours. I don't have the phone #, maybe someone else can give you that.

If you choose, it can save on food. The food offerings are definitely not "sparse" by any stretch of the imagination!! It's just that it's not a well-rounded dinner(entree, side dishes,) mostly appetizer-type things in the evening. Very nice pastries, muffins, oatmeal, cereal, and cappucino at breakfast, and munchies during afternoon, then from about 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. there are desserts and cordials set out. We did not do justice to the food offerings, however, as we ate out for lunch and dinner, and weren't hungry!

HTH!

Welcome, Fran!!!

Your plans sound great to me. The only recommendation I have is to eat breakfast at Boma during your trip. It's very convenient since you're right there at the AKL, and their breakfast buffet is terrific! Below is a link to the menu so you can see it:

Thanks again to everyone for all the good information about Ohanas. It sounds like everyone in the family will enjoy it.

I am sorry that I missed the headcount/bedcheck last night. I took a friend out for her birthday and after she left I was just too wiped out to check in.

BTW--I feel that I got very lucky when I stumbled onto this thread by accident. I have been shocked at how hateful people are to each other on some of the other ones.

The AKL CL is watching for cancellations on the Pirate Cruise for my boys. Other than that we are set and I am just counting down the days.

There is another very nice thread on the cruise board. There are a couple of people that will send postcards to your children from their favorite characters inviting them to come on the cruise with them. We were sent our postcards last week and my four year old not only slept with his Captain Hook and Mr. Snee postcard, but he told everyone he met that they had asked him to come and play on their boat.

Later,
Sonja

I made some PS's on my own before we decided to stay CL at the Poly. There are a few that we have decided we don't want but at the same time we want to schedule a few different ones. Now, can I contact IPO and have them cancel these or is that something they normally won't do? I just figured when they cancelled a few they could make the others we want at the same time. Hope this makes sense.

We are soooo excited!!
We've never stayed concierge level, but will be at the poly this fall for a stay - and we'll be in the concierge house.
This is a very special golden birthday trip for our eight year old princess!princess:
We stayed in the Tahiti house last time and the girls got to watch the castle change colors from their beds.
Do all lagoon view rooms have a view of the castle?
Does anyone know room numbers for the best view?
Also, we would like a balcony but are concerned because the third floor rooms are smoking optional.
Can anyone comment on whether the rooms smelled terribly of smoke if they stayed on the third floor?
We have three in our family with smoke sensitive asthma. Appreciate the help.

Jaime

:bounce: Looking forward to being very pampered for a change!:Pinkbounc

luckywife - Yes, absolutely, you can have IPO cancel your PS's when you ask them to make others! I had them cancel quite a few for me last month!

jd Tigger67 - All Hawaii LV rooms have a view of the castle, some views are obstructed by palm trees, though, I think. Check out Tikiman's website for some beautiful pictures. It's tikiman2001.homestead.com. He's got a lot of wonderful information about the Poly. Room #3505 has a beautiful view. And, third floor rooms near the lounge are non-smoking, now. These are the rooms starting 3501, 3502 and so on.
Most of the posters who have stayed on the third floor have reported they have not smelled any smoke on that floor, even in smoking optional rooms.

HTH!
:wave2:

Thanx all.

I am so glad I posted. I was not aware I should PS so far out. I better figure out the schedule and send the email tomorrow. I was told Sept wasn't that busy.

Boma looks great. I am not going to say anything about the pirate cruise or Safari until I am confirmed.

My DS5 will be at Simba's for the Laua.(sp) That another ressie. I better write this all down to get it straight. LOL

Well better start writing.

fran99999 - Sorry if I scared you! Yes, Sept. is usually quiet, I mainly meant to put your name in for the Sunrise Safari. Except for CRT, Storybook Breakfast, or Hoop De Doo, most of the restaurants you can schedule as you figure out your itinerary. Hope I haven't confused you even more!:teeth: I booked most of my PS's about 6 weeks out for Easter week, but I did not have any hard-to-get res.:sunny:

I can't keep up with y'all but love popping in and lurking from time to time. Great positive thoughts. Don't let the negative ones take you down. Only popped onto that one yesterday and saw a little bit and while most people were rational about why concierge didn't or couldn't suit them, I also saw some plain old nastiness. Sticks and stones....

Jaime, welcome to the DIS! I have done Polynesian lagoon view concierge before, and it was wonderful! All of the lagoon view rooms face the Castle, but I would imagine that some views might be blocked by the palm trees. We requested a non-smoking room and were fortunate enough to get a 1st floor room. The 1st floor rooms don't have balconies, but they do have patios, which worked every bit as well for us. We could see the castle perfectly from our room, and since the "bushy" parts of the palm tree (gee, can you tell I don't know much about trees, LOL!) were way above our room, so they didn't affect our view at all. We had room #1512. I will post a link to my pictures below so you can see them. I figured you might like a 1st floor room to ensure there are no smoke problems if a patio would meet your needs. :)

Hi Guys! I have been "lurking" for a while. I haven't really been officially "bitten" by the concierge bug... but, I did book Tower Club at CR for October... CAN'T WAIT! :Pinkbounc

Anyway, I wanted to let you know that this thread has some great info, as well as some nice people in it! If anyone has any info on Contemporary Tower Club... let me know!

WOW! We have quite a few new lizards. A warm welcome to Fran99999, jdtigger67, & annamonte! Special howdy to BCV23, too! I'm sure you'll love relaxing in the lounge.

Annamonte, I'm not too sure on specifics on CR Tower, but there are other lizards on this board that I feel can answer your question.

Just popping in before I headed out, AGAIN. I thought I'd just send a sunshine filled "Good morning" ya'lls way! So make it a great one & don't forget to laugh today! :sunny:

Debbie - I look forward to those danishes, smoothies, and goodies upon my return ;) - LOL!

Hello guys and a big welcome to our new lizards!! I have been offline all weekend with a virus  I did check out the other thread, wow, things got a little vicious.
A question for you fellow lizards that use a car service for transport from the airport to your resort, who do you use? We are not renting a car this time and we need something large enough to fit all six of us and allow for a grocery stop (don't feel like lugging baby food and diapers through the airports)

AHH I've been negligent in my usual weekend duties!

*quickly placing pastries, fruit, and other delectables out on the tables*

Smoothies>> CHECK!
Coffee>> CHECK!
three types of juices >> CHECK!

OK! I even put out some crispy creme donuts since I laid out the sideboard so late, today!

Welcome to all of the new lounge lizards! We are a great group here, and you will only add to it! Many of us can go for the gusto every trip, some of us can only do it here and there (I'd be in this group!)... yet no one has cheated at scrabble! Feel free to walk around, enjoy the concierge offerings, take part in story time (kleenux has been asked to be a sponsor), and ask questions or add answers!

Placing the last strawberry on the fruit platter before she rushes out the door! Happy Sunday!

Debbie

Hey everyone. We have 1 more sleep left and then we are on our way! :cheer2: :cheer2:

It looks like it is going to rain tomorrow, but the rest of the week should be good. I'll let everyone know how it went.
