Bwaaahahahahah! I love your 12 year old "know it all" line! DH and I tell people that we never realized how dumb we were until DD told us! I am so glad though, that I am not "everyone else's parents".
"but everyone else's parents let their kids ___________." fill in the blank

I must finish dinner! No hockey, no competitions, I've played tonight on the computer and I can't stay away!

Night all!
Debbie

Let me just tell you Debbie, the day I find Everyone Else's Parents, I will call Child Protective Services, I can't believe the things they let their kids do!!:hyper:

Thanks all for the comments about Poly email. I don't use hotmail so maybe the problem is on my end? It's been quite a few days since I sent the email so I guess I'll go ahead and give them a call in the a.m.

:rotfl: That new prospective thread is priceless - LOL! DF, you quite an imagination, girl! Your DH story made me weepy. He's definitely a keeper through and through!

k&a&c'smom - ***THUMBS UP*** on snagging your trip! I'm glad you got the ground work done for your trip.

I really don't know why the negative comments on CL??? I guess they don't think outside the box. Well, it couldn't hurt from one prospective. Maybe then we'll keep the good rooms if they do rumor CL to be "a waste" - Sorry about that, so so sorry! I'm terribly bad tonight & being a little selfish - LOL! I'm grounding myself. There it's done. Totally grounded....

Teach - just don't write me up.

Goodferry - I'm glad your DD is doing better! :sunny:

I've just been able to pop in here & there. My sis is getting married in August and we've been dress shopping - which is hard work!

Goodnight lizards - got hit the hay so I can get back up before the sun even begins to think about coming up!

{{{{HUGS}}}}} to you, VAgal !!

And everyone else, thanks for the nice and POSITVE posts on that "other" negative thread.

dreamflight...YOU ARE SOMETHING ELSE!!!!
I LOVE how you put everything in the right text at the right time!
And the rest of ya'll......:grouphug:

BTW....Can someone enlighten me where these 5 and 6* hotels which INCLUDE concierge in all rooms ARE?????
(DF...my twin...do you know where they are?)

I got three proms in this area this weekend, and 2 shows in 2 weeks for about 500 ladies each.

Haven't heard back from IPO either in the last two days and I've been way too busy to call them.
(VAgal...I haven't heard anything yet. Fingers still crossed!)

My 12yo DS will turn 13 this Saturday.
I will offically be the mother of a teenage male.

Why do I stay CL?
DS eats us out of house and home! LOL!::yes::

Anyways, BIG WAVE to everyone!

I really must quit my job so I can keep up with my favorite thread. I have sworn off reading it at work because I have gotten weepy once too many and people are starting to think I am even stranger than I am.

New question for my soulmates. If you were picking one restaurant to have dinner with the kids, what would it be and why. My boys are almost 5 (June 16th) and 7. We are staying at AKL (concierge thanks to this thread) and we have a PS a Boma's for the last night before we leave for the Disney cruise. I am thinking of booking one more dinner, but I don't know which one to do. I have heard Ohana's is good, but I don't know details of what there is there that will entertain the kids. Any suggestions are appreciated.

To go back to the FC posts, my husband and I were ex-pats in England and our oldest son was born there. The company paid for us to have three seats in Business Class when we were moving back to the states. You should have seen the look on people's faces when we came into BC with a five month old baby in tow. The British Airways crew was wonderful. One of the friends we had made in England was an attendant and she made sure that we were will taken care of. The attendants came and got our son and walked him all over the plane while we ate. The even got him a BA passport and pair of wings. Being taken care of is nice ;-)

Thanks to everyone for the stories.

Cheers,
Sonja

Tamby - Boy, you've got your work cut out for you, girl!!::yes:: My son's prom is this weekend, too. sniff, sniff.

Happy Birthday to your boy, now, knowing everything will reach new heights!!:bday: I have gotten dumber and less cool, year after year!! Honestly, I used to be cool - I love the Stones, Seger, Clapton, et al - and smart, when did I lose it?

It was pretty cute, though, one day I was riding with my teenagers, and they were talking about what was and was not cool, me being in the second group. I said "what, I'm not cool?" and they all laughed, then my oldest said "that's ok, Mom, if you were cool you wouldn't be a real mom!"

I can live with that!

sojo33 - We love Ohanas, they do games with the kids, coconut races, hula hoop contests, etc. But, your boys might like Whispering Canyon Cafe, too! That place is a blast - the cm's get up to a lot of mischief. My kids absolutely looooved watching their Dad have to eat his green beans at Prime Time Cafe. Sci Fi is also a lot of fun, with the movie clips and the diner food. We always have to eat at Crystal Palace, the Pooh characters are there and the food is varied and very good, the Palace is beautiful.

Any more suggestions needed? Would you rather eat at a quieter restaurant? Flying Fish, Jiko, Le Cellier, Narcoossee's, MMMMM, my favorites, delish!!

OMG!!!! ROTFLMAO, kac!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You hit it on the head EXACTELY!!!!!::yes::

sojo..Another vote for O'hana's! Your boys will LOVE the coconut races and the hulahoop contests!!!
And they have a great child's dish for them...chicken fingers, corn on the cob, mac'n'cheese, baked beans...
One of my fondest memories in WDW were made there!
:teeth:
And I'm also laughing with you on your post! Imagine, people staring at you at work...thinking you're strange....
shame on them!!!!!

Ahhhhhh my problem is I want to try everything, but I know that we are a family that doesn't do well on a tight schedule. Now I am really confused. I do know that quiet probably isn't good. If I am going in 40 days, is there any change the concierge can get me a PS at Ohanas or Whispering Canyon? And where is the Sci-Fi?

LOL, sonja!!! That's why you'll be back! To do the things you couldn't do before!;)
IPO shouldn't have any problem with getting you a PS for O'hana's or WC.
Sci-Fi is near the Star Tours ride...need a PS for that one, but just split a burger with DH and let the boys have their hotdog on a frisbee for $10.
you can always eat more at the CL!

You're going to LOVE AKL CL!
40 days? Hmmm....when is that?

Looks like we're going to just MISS each other!
Maybe you'll see VAgal?:wave2:

sojo33 - Tamby is right, as usual, they should have no problem getting you a PS, we've always been able to get in, even during Easter week. The only really hard ones are CRT, Hoop De Doo, etc. that they book up in advance. For some reason, the resort restaurants are usually pretty easy to get into, although a PS is still a good idea.:wave2:

Put in your requests and then don't worry anymore! They were able to book us twice for Ohana's, as we missed our first PS there (the first night). We loved it there, and can't believe we had never been before! They [concierge] even managed to secure CRT ressies during our stay, and this was Easter week! You're just going to love AKL club level! *Oh someone help me! I am addicted!*

Happy birthday to all of those boys (and girls if we missed any!) out there! Mine turns 11 on Mother's Day! He was actually born on Mother's Day, and occassionally it works out again!

Write you up? LOL Lets just say I have been reading that I am not the only person with major discipline issues! I think I feel better, though, reading that it isn't just the inner city parents that are denying any problem exists and it must be the teachers' fault! Spring is in the air, yet we don't get 'til mid June! Ack!

Happy Wings win! Have a great day, lounge lizards!
Debbie

Sonja--If you have dinner at 'Ohana look for us, we will be staying at the Poly June 4-11th. We have PS for 'Ohana, Sci-Fi and Whispering Canyon, so y'all are making me feel better about my choices! I need to pick one more place to make ressies for dinner still.
Have a good day at work everyone:sunny:

Morning, Lizards :sunny:!

BT - I got everything crossed....still! Wow, 13th b-day - it's a big one :bday: alright. I'm sending prayers for patience for the teenage years to come. BTW, I saw your post on what to do about the resorts. I always say whatever Mom says should go because if Momma ain't happy ain't nobody happy - LOL!

Sonja - I think we're going to miss each other too since you're going on the cruise :sad1:. We get in on the 18th and staying until the 26th. I would love to be on that cruise with you!

Debbie - That must've been awesome to have your child exactly on Mother's Day. I was close, but no cigar. It was a 100 degrees that year and I was desparate, but he wasn't budging - LOL!

Cross posted from the WL FAQ Thread....

OK it's official DIS Meet @ The Wilderness Lodge

We became aware that because so many of us love visiting WDW and The Wilderness Lodge, that we had quite a few DIS members that would be converging at WDW over the last few weeks in May.
Soooo... we are going to meet-up at the Lodge and visit for a few hours or minutes which ever you would like.

Date: May 22, 2004
Time: 2:00pm-4:00pm
Place: Humphrey's Totem
( corner of the lodge by the mercantile, elevators, and the bridge in the lobby)

This will be very informal so don't worry if your at one of the Parks, relaxing by the pool, Training for the 1/2 Ironman, or just having fun, jump on The boat/bus to Wilderness Lodge and say hello.

WOW! Sounds like a great meet, Fred!!!

Wish I could make it!::yes::

VAgal..still waiting....
Will call as soon as I know something!

We need PIXIE DUST ya'll!!!!!~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Have a happy weekend everyone!!!!

dreamflight99: in answer to your question--

"MamaTink~Thanks for the refreshing "take" on things! I think we all know someone like your dear BIL! BTW...was that a BRAND~NAME soap box you were standing upon?!? "

Not unless the commissary had the "BRAND~NAME soap" on sale that day!!! Gotta cut corners somehow to pay for that concierge level:crazy:
I just think that we all forget to realize what we have to be grateful for sometimes...:teeth:

:jumping1:

Can I just pretend I'm training for the Florida Half Ironman? As I sit here eating a Snickers and drinking a Pepsi.

Sounds good. We're definately going to try and make it. Are you all going to stay in the lobby or move somewhere for a bite of food or something to drink?

Remember, I'm warning all of you. My DH thinks I'm a chat board freak. So, I guess he won't be at the DIS meet.

Is anyone staying WL Concierge at the end of May?:sunny:

Aww, that sounds like so much fun! Although we had Bfast there 2x on our trip, we didn't have dinner there at all! :( Boo Hoo! Now I'll have to make that a priority next trip! :D
