Kennedy Space Center questions

I'm considering going to Kennedy Space Center on my next trip, and have a few questions I haven't seen answered elsewhere:

1. What is the typical schedule for the Rocket Garden tour?

2. I know you have to put your bags in a locker for the Shuttle Launch Experience ride, but what about the Spaceport KSC ride? Lockers or no?

3. For any birders out there, have you seen any interesting birds at KSC?

Thanks!

We were there a number of years ago and as I recall there isn't any need to carry backpacks or lots of things. Some of the tours involved taking a bus to see the launch areas. There were also indoor exhibits as I recall, none of which required the miles of walking you do while at Disney. You might want to take a camera, but can't really see the need to lug around a bunch of other things. Just leave them in your car. They have a website where you can see the various options for the tours being offered.

Not sure I would travel all the way to the Kennedy Space Center just to do bird watching. The immediate area isn't accessible to the public mostly for safety reasons. I have no idea if the wildlife is unique to that area or the same things you would see in various coastal regions of Florida.
