How many hours should I plan for at Hollywood Studios?

I'm trying to figure out how many hours to plan for at Hollywood studios. The last time we went they had many attractions, that's before they tore them down for the star wars area. In your opinion, is this a half day park now or a full day? Also, we will not be going to Fantasmic. Thanks in advance.

Still a full day for us with or without seeing Fantasmic. Sometimes a full day and another half day. There is still so much to do and see at the Studios.

As a many time visitor , unless we eat at sci fi or prime time cafe, we just skip the park all together

It depends on who is in your group, and their ages. We travel with our 4.5 year old DS and for us HS has never been more than 4 hours in any one day at most. However, if we did some more of the shows, perhaps we'd stay longer. It really varies with personal interests.

We are only planning a half day there. There's so much closed right now and we have a toddler and a pregnant wife, so we won't be riding much, just going for shows.

We like to hop. We will hop there for a few hours about 3 times during week. Even though it's my favorite park with my two favorite rides (rnrc tot) I don't think I could make it an all day park. Get there early, ride as much as you can for a few hours (with a good plan I'd assume you could ride almost everything), then maybe take a break and come back at night for FP for the for re rides (or am misses) and seeing one of the night shows.

I would say the only day it would be full day is seeing the shows. We aren't into frozen, mermaid, or beast so haven't seen them. If you would, id say a full day is indeed possible.

Depends on what you want to do there. Rides only then half day. If you add in shows then more.

There is not as much closed as some seem to imply. Lights motor action, Backlot tour, Streets of America, and Honey I Shrunk the Kids (one show, one ride, a walkthrough, and a playground.) The American Idol show was replaced by the Frozen show, the Art of Animation was replaced by a Star Wars exhibit. Otherwise, as far as I can tell, everything that was there in 2010 is still there. DHS has never had lots of rides, but it can be challenging to see everything because of the shows. And there are a couple of new Star Wars themed shows. In fact, compared to the first time I went to DHS, there are the same number of rides--Backlot tour out, Toy Story Mania in. I really don't see it as taking significantly less time than before. As two new lands open, it will take more time, but there is plenty to do there now, even without Fantasmic.

I agree. There aren't so many things gone that it impacts half to a full day. That is entirely dependent on whether you prioritize rides, shows, or both. I have two half days planned with a possible evening to catch the nighttime show we missed on our one evening. We want to do both rides and shows.

If you or your kids are Star Wars fans then it's a full day park. We were there this week from RD to close but we did Jedi Academy and the rest of the Star Wars stuff. We didn't do TOT or Aerosmith but did the Frozen (don't miss it) and Indiana Jones shows.

So true. It is still full day for us. We tend to do one morning and then an afternoon/evening.

My girlfriend and I did a half day at Hollywood Studios and we were able to see pretty much the whole park. If you have fastpasses for the rides, I wouldn't devote an entire day to the park. This gives you an opportunity to either sleep in that day and take it easy in the morning before heading into Hollywood Studios, or if you decide to hit the park early, you can wind down towards the end of the day and see some other stuff like Disney Springs. It makes for a much more relaxing park day!

HS wants people to hang out in the evening! The show sounds right up our alley.

We never go for less than 2 days. Of course I have a semi late sleeping family so the days start later than most but we always have to have 2 days there.

This is exactly what we do. In total, the hours are probably the same as doing one day open to close there, but we spread it out. We go in and do our favourite attractions, eat at one of our favourite restaurants and the repeat on one of the other days and maybe catch one of the shows and the 3rd day we do Fantasmic.

We spent 2 days there this month and I still didn't get everything done I wanted to do. It's our family's favorite park.

As other have said, it all depends on what you want to do at HS. We recently arrived at rope drop and rode Toy Story, Aerosmith, Tower of Terror and Star Tours by 11:30 am, all without a fastpass. We may have ridden ToT twice. We didn't see any shows, visit any characters, or tour the star wars area. We did shop a little and dine at ABC all during that time. It was not busy that morning, but by the time we left around 11:30am it was starting to get crowded. We could have easily spend the rest of the day there if we wanted to see the shows. We did return that night for the Star Wars night time show and the great movie ride.
