You know what's awful? Most of us probably spent all that time this weekend, and will get nothing in return.

At least I was able to pass some of the time by hitting the boys on my team. That was fun I hit Aengus straight out of the room one time.

One of my favorite send off phrases to our riders was " Hopefully the Yeti ate the rider before you"...I laughed every time that one was typed. And then there was the famous "Let me IN " like we were holding the golden key to ride or something.

I think my funniest moment of the weekend involved the crew over at the Magical Yeti Path Base Camp. Come late Sunday I was really feeling for the team as like ours it wasn't until very late that the judges came through. Well at one point I head over to see if there was any update in status, and as I am telling them it is time to hit the "Help" button and how it is not right that they had to wait this long, none other than Phinny walks into the room. Good thing I didn't vent too much as it was really bad timing on my part.

It was a relief to see her come in as the ride was a really good and should not have been overlooked for so long.

Like Mal said in another post, lets root for the DisBoard sweep!

Had a blast meeting everyone and can't wait to see the results.

Thanks for bringing that up, Rolls. I've been reading about some serious
BAD behavior and poor sportsmanship over this event. I'm going to post
about it in its own topic.

Wow. I hadn't heard that one. That is bad. I'd like to say that VMK should immediately disqualify that team for doing that, but it takes so long for VMK to respond to the help things, they'd probably be gone by the time staff got there.

The only people misbehaving in my base camp while I was there were my teammates and I. We did have that one girl who was bother Aengus, but I think that is pretty much an every day occurance.

Judging by the posts I think we all spent waaaaayyy too long in our base camps this weekend.

I have a quick couple of questions:

Does anybody have any medical experience? As I seem to have developed a rather delicate problem after sitting on ice for too many hours.

As Simba mentioned, a certain character kept showing up and emptying valuables from busy members unattended rooms.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of this fellow please inform the authorities.

BTW: If anyone needs some cheap items I may know someone who can help (if you know what I mean?)

I spended 5-10 hours in base camp but most of it was AFK due to me at dinner.

The disconnects made it seem slightly longer, but what was funny was:

* We learned to check the ride every so often
* Disconnects--No way to avoid
* Sometimes when the owner has left, you must take charge.

Things I Will Never Forget from a LONG Weekend in Base Camp Team VMK Dead:

*You can sing most of the lyrics to both "My Girl" and "People are Strange" in VMK without doing a dictionary dance.
*If you are sitting next to TpNick and a girl walks up and says "Are you taken?" ... She's talking to him. Not you.

*Wolf, I will be contacting the police regarding items that mysteriously disappeared from Base Camp.

Give me a few years, and maybe then I will look back fondly on those long, long hours of self-inflicted incarceration ... made to seem even longer by Event Chief Simba's strict restriction on magic, dancing and bad talking LOL (I'm sure you all can guess what we were doing every time he DC??? -- woot - party time!! )

Last night we started timing ourselves to see who could get round our ride the fastest, no prizes, just something to do.
SimbaCub takes the wooden spoon for taking 14 minutes dead (pun intended!). Although TpNick took longer, as the youngest member of Team Dead, he got a 30 second deduction, which took him under the wire!
Dewberry seemed to have the race in the bag, with a time of 10 minutes 30 seconds, when TheWolf 'jumped' in, with a time of 9 minutes 52 seconds.
As for me, I seemed to spend most of my 11 minutes waiting in the teleporters to push unsuspecting victims from the train!! Still, it was good fun, and it wasted an hour or so!
And Simba, if you ever sing that song in my presence again, I will have you taken round the back of VMK and shot. All I could hear in my sleep last night was.... My Judge, talkin' 'bout My Judge

Well, I checked 10-15 hours, more time in base camp than with my family AND if I ever set foot in a tent room again it will be TOO soon.

I gotta tell you though...guess where I found most of my team today....that's right folks, BASE CAMP VMK DEAD!!!!! Apparently, they did not get enough of the place for the past three days, they were all hanging out there today. AND, don't you know people kept showing up and RIDING the ride! LOL

Anyway, I don't even know where to begin! Most of the time I was in our base camp I was only half there. It's difficult to be a ride operator and hostess with three kids hanging on your legs! When I logged on today I had like 5 messages saying "Wings, are you there?"

Highlights........
the train ride,
Simba's inner Wolf coming out,
Wolf sitting over the entrance teleporter,
the hand bucket,
giving stuff away to people who were really just Dead in disguise,
all the rainbow colors,
singing It's a Small World ,
seeing Due's smiling face EVERY time I walked into Base,
3 or 4 people crashing at the same time,
that I was actually IN the room when staff showed up,
making new friends with people who came to ride,
people we did not even know prior to this weekend hanging out with us to keep us company and help us out..............

OMG I could go on for hours here, but you get the idea!

OH, and I could not even tell you how many people asked us if they could be dead too, changed colors to be dead, saw dead people, etc, dead, etc.

Sadly i only spent an hour tops I once again appologize to my team mates who spent there time on vmk keeping our room open and i did not partake much, if it had not been for that extremely long snow storm i would have been on much much more. after i had gotten back suday i hopped in for a bit but i got distracted and went else where, ( like bed LOL) srry team boogies i hope you may forgive me!!

Boy, what a let down Daviedude and Califgirl were for team boogies. No prizes for them Just kidding.

We were the fun team, the no pressure team. It's all about fun
