How Many From Michigan??

:wave2: More greetings from Sterling Heights (14 Mile and Van ****).

We are hoping to make it back to WDW in 2006, but haven't booked anything just yet...

Born and raised in Lake Orion, Michigan!! :cheer2:

Hi. Haven't read the whole thread yet but we are currently in Warren (can't wait to get out!!!). I grew up in Berkley and my husband grew up in Brighton, and we've lived all over Macomb and Oakland counties since we've been together... Our first family trip was this past May and we loved it so much we're going back next May. (April 30 - May 7th actually). Perfect time to go!

Turnlisa- You wouldn't be talking about Omer would you? I'm too tired to check a map for details right now, but it sounds like you could be... It claims to be "Michigan's smallest town". My dad has a weekend place in Twining...

Hi ryan!

Hi fellow michiganders!

There is talk of a Dis meet forming this late Sept or after at HFM for the Disney exhibit. Look for the thread coming up!!!!

It would be great to meet many of you.

Native Texan here but we live in NOVI, MI. for 2 years. We went to Disney many times while living in MI. The saying from our neighbors and DH co- workers's was something like when the last person leaves (Michigan for Florida) they are supposed to "leave a light on" Anyone else heard this??

Shelby Township is home
Sand Lake (about 20 min. west of Tawas) is the up north place for us in the summer

Our last trip to WDW was in January for DD 5th b-day. It was her 3rd trip, so DH said we are NOT going back for 5 years. Funny thing is...we were discussing our next trip last night! Gotta love the magic of Mickey!

Antmaril, I live in Sterling Heights too! I am right behind the police station across the street from Dodge Park - the Sterling Fest was a blast!

We stayed at All Star Movies this past June (Happy Father's Day!) and we'll be staying off property this Christmas.

My boys can't wait to go back! All three of them - DH, pirate: DS5, pirate: DS3

We're from Sterling Heights too! Actually, I grew up in the sub behind the police station too. My wife and I still live in the city. (by Ford High School)

We couldn't make it to Sterlingfest this year because we were in Disneyland!!!

We will be going to Disney World in October for Mickey's Halloween Party and the Food and Wine festival.

Jeff

Another Hollander here! Going to Disney Aug.21-27, then moving daughter back to Calvin College Aug. 29.

We relocated here last year from Ft Lauderdale! We're in Saline, due south of Ann Arbor! Possibly going in December, but it depends on the $$$! :flower:

LOL, I know what you mean. I am amazed at how many local people have not heard of New Boston! I love it here!! :goodvibes

Hello, fellow Michiganders! Count us in as another family from the Westland/Canton area (on the border). We are also DVC'ers and longtime WDW lovers. Good to see so many of us from Michigan! :cool1:

Wow. I'm stunned at all the Michiganders. We're going to take over the world one of these days. :rotfl:

I'm from northeast Monroe County (between S. Rockwood and Newport). Sunkissed--I'm a Downriver girl through-and-through! Grew up in Southgate, Wyandotte, Taylor, and yes, you New Boston folks, I spent my formative years in Huron Chief country! Went to Renton Junior High. :cheer2: Graduated HS from Southgate, and the majority of my family still lives there (aunts, uncles, mom, sister). I'm the black sheep who chose the fresh air and wide open space of country life in Monroe County. :teeth:

We're going on our first-ever Disney trip the first week of October to Grand Floridian!

We live in a small town north of chelsea and work in ypsilanti. We used to live in Romulus & Westland.

growing up i lived in willow run/belleville and high school i lived in New Boston.

DH grew up in westland, garden city and belleville.

Are there any snowbirds among us with a Florida residence? I'm wondering how you renew your Florida AP's. Can you have them mailed to you in MI or do they have to go to a Florida address, and do you get an actual renewal, or only the voucher that has to be exchanged, showing your Florida ID? We've never renewed an AP before. TIA! :flower:

I know where New Boston is too!! Us "downriver" people are few and far between aren't we? No one ever knows where Riverview is either....they always say "River-where?"

I used to drive right through New Boston when I worked in Belleville - took Sibley Road all the way to the end (I live off of Sibley now). Anyway, nice to see some locals on the boards!
