How many different supermarkets do you shop at regularly?

We tried doing that about the time all the butchers and produce stands closed. We do have the farmers markets though, but they seem to have shifted their items from food to things like art and dream catchers.
We are lucky to live on the edge of a small market town - still good butchers etc and a number of farms that sell their own produce. The monthly farmers markets here now often have more art and antiques than food too!

I hate grocery shopping - so it's 1 store per week (and I choose from 1 of 2 depending on sales or what specialties I might need). I do not find it worth my time and energy to save a few bucks by hitting more than that.

That said, I do hit farmer's stands for fresh produce in the spring and summer and I buy most of our meat from a local butcher so those are additional stops.

Snap! That's my pattern too at the moment.

Three plus I also purchase stuff at Walmart.

I do not shop them each on the same day or even the same week. Each offers something that the other don't.

1. Kroger
2. Target (if I am there for my weekly Target shop I get what I can there to save a trip or if they do the $10 gift card for $50 of groceries I will stock my pantry with snacks.
3. Aldi's-occasionally but they have improved so much lately I am trying to go 1 time a week.
4. Sam's 1 or 2 times a month
5. Lucky's-if I need something special or they have a good ad. I love their meat so I will sometimes go just for that.

I usually hit up 2-3 stores a week. If I am by myself I hit about 5 or 6. It really depends on what I need and how much time I have. Today I did my shopping for the week and went to Grocery Outlet and Safeway. If I am in the next big town over I hit Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Winco, and their Grocery Outlet.

If you are ever free on a Saturday morning, Auburn has an awesome Farmer's Market.

I would say regularly 3, but sometimes go to 2 others. We pick one every 5-7 days as its too much time to shop around.

I am GF so I can't get the same items at each store, we rotate to get those pantry items and stock up for a few weeks. We used to have pathmark which is now acme, they are good for meat and ok for everything else. They got rid of certain items we really liked and I noticed last trip they had labeled a bunch of non- GF food randomly with GF stickers. Superwalmart near me has some amazing GF items I can't get elsewhere or for better prices so I hit them up maybe once a month. Target I will go to maybe twice a month but only if I am there to pick up other items or if I don't need a lot of produce as theirs isn't great. The Target also always looks like it was raided 50% of the time, frozen food that isn't even on sale will be tossed about and dairy section is usually half empty. I also have a Trader Joe's and Whole Foods near me but I only go to them for very specific items maybe once a month. Trader Joe's was a weekly trip but they don't keep up with stocking the shelves there, particularly produce, on a number of days a week so its often a wasted trip. Acme is the lesser of evils on the basis they rarely are out of stock in several things.

I have one that I go to only for their promo items (for a rewards program). It's too expensive to shop at regularly so I just maximize the items I make money back on. Then I have a 2 or 3 other stores and I pick one of those for the rest of the groceries. I just check flyers to see who has the better prices that week. I might drop into another for one thing if it's a great deal. I'm in a small town, everything is within a five minute drive and this method is easy for me.

ETA) we will also go to the butcher and farmers market some weekends. If we do, we don't need the one grocery store at all.

so one of my regular supermarkets recently changed ownership and I'm rethinking my shopping patterns since the new owners (major chain) have a different product range. Of course to get the best deals I could easily go to 3 supermarkets per week but I always viewed that as not worth my time. How many do you go to each week (I view weekly shop as necessary as certain fruit and vegetables have to be bought that often)? At what point is it too many just to make the savings?

Usually 3 (Kroger, Aldi, & a local chain) and a monthly trip to Costco. From May-October, I shop at Aldi less frequently as it's my main produce source & our farmer's market is in full swing ... but I still do go there to pick up some of our must haves.

6:

Walmart for basics, then Publix, Trader Joe's, Fresh Market, Costco, and Whole Foods for specialty items. It sounds like so much more than it actually is! I usually visit a store 2-3 times/week.

I go to Aldi more times in a month (or week) than I want to say.
I go to Giant Eagle a few times a month when Aldi doesn't have an item I need.
I go to BJs once a month, sometimes less, for bulk items.
I'll occasionally go to Walmart for food items but it's pretty rare.

Usually 4, Walmart Supercenter, Winn Dixie, Publix, and Aldi. Sometimes if we're close Target and Save-a-lot; depending on sales that week Walgreens, CVS, or Dollar General. Not all the stores in the same day.

Publix - I do the major part of my food shopping here. I am in there 2 to 4 times a week. Love their buy one get one free items...

BJ warehouse - once or twice a month - for what we call stock ups - soda, adult beverages, water, Gatorade, paper products, diapers and wipes for my grandson, and other grocery items, sometimes they have other stuff at great prices. Even though its just DH and I we do buy something in bulk, but with the knowledge that we are giving half to my DD's little family.

Target - for personal care items, and household cleaning items.

I used to shop at Wal-Mart for personal care and household.. but lately I find myself avoiding Wal-Mart at all cost.

Shoprite for groceries and that's with Home Orders (Shoprite) that I pick up. I despise grocery shopping and avoid it at all costs.

Target for household items and toiletries.

I sometimes go to Acme because it's close and if I need to pick up something quick. If I want something specific I'll go to Whole Foods but that's rare. BJ's if we are going to a BBQ and have to pick up something.

I regularly shop at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and a local chain that has a lot of locally sourced produce. During the summer I also buy a lot of produce from farmer's market and farm stands. There is one larger chain I will stop at occasionally out of convenience but that is getting rarer and rarer. My wife and I are very picky about the quality of our food so we will pay a premium for local and organic. if we had more time we would shop every day for what we need that day.

For non-food items Target is our first choice if we don't just buy it on Amazon and wait a day.

ETA: We have tried some of the meal delivery services and think they are a great addition to normal grocery shopping. We signed up for Blue Apron, HelloFresh, and Door to Door Organics. We liked Blue Apron the best of the three and are continuing on with them for now but we hope to try out some additional options.

That's all i have time for. If something isn't on sale (or at a decent price) then we just wont be eating it that week.

I go to one supermarket and also Costco. I do check the sales flyer at the other supermarkets in case they have something I need that week. For meat, I usually just get the Perdue frozen chicken breasts and frozen sirloin beef patties at Costco. If I need a beef roast, london broil or turkey I get that at the supermarket.

All our vegetables I get at an indoor produce market. Strawberries and blueberries I get at Costco.
