See the problem is that these agents sell holidays and amongst the offerings they have Turkey, Greece, Florida, Africa, Spain ....... They sell holidays. But they are not Disney specialists. Nobody questions it because when you book a trip to Australia, the agent generally doesnt' tell you much more than the brochure or website does about your destination. It's sad, but it is true. US guests have the advantage of the likes of
Dreams Unlimited which is an official Disney agent and the specialize in all things Disney. So when you ask them a question, they have been taught, trained and kept up to date and can give you an accurate (at least more or less) response and/or at the very least find the answer for you. We don't have that. I do think it is completely unfair but at the end of it all, the onus is on the traveler to find out about their destination. Even phoning WDTC there are times when you know you are speaking to someone who knows what they are talking about and other times you know you're speaking to someone who has been trained to sound very confident but is talking rubbish
