How many days are you booking DHS?

We are planning a 5 night, 6 day trip in October. It'll be DD and myself. I'm not a SW fan but DD is into it and I do want to ride ROTR. I can appreciate the theming without being a fan. DHS is DD's second favorite park (ToT and RnRC are faves) so we usually spend quite a bit of time there. On our last 10 day trip (pre covid) we spend almost 3 days there. With only 6 park days I didn't want to dedicate 3 days to DHS but with RoTR BG's I feel like I should give myself more days there so we have more chances. This is what I have so far:

10/29 - MK (arrival day. Planning on getting 6 am flight and being at MCO around 8 am so basically a full day at MK)
10/30 - DHS
10/31 - AK (hoping for Boo Bash tix)
11/1 - DHS (I would prefer to make this Epcot)
11/2 - DHS
11/3 - MK (very late flight home)

We do plan on hoping to Epcot several of those evenings. With Ratatouille I feel like I should have one RD day at Epcot. I have MK on 11/3 because I love RD at MK and that would be the only RD day at MK. I like the little show and just the morning atmosphere there.

So how are you organizing your days and park passes? This BG is really messing with me. I hope they don't make Ratatouille a BG too. That'll throw a loop in my planning.

I think I'm in the minority, but I have one day booked at DHS. I rode RotR the day it opened, it is awesome, I hope I get a boarding group in August, but if I don't my trip will still be great.

I booked 3 days on an 8 day trip but that’s because I’m at YC for this second half and it was entirely for more RotR chances if I strike out. My first one is tomorrow.

Honestly? I'm hoping they will have done away with park passes by the time we go. ;) But for now we have our trip set up with two HS days. Epcot is DH & my favorite park, but we only gave Epcot one full day because we know we love to hop over there in the evenings. We're hoping 2 days for HS will be enough to get on Rise, but we've also discussed that we can't let one ride be the basis for the entire trip. It will be there next time. So we're opting to go with just 2 days. Fingers crossed that it works out for us and for you! :)

I hope park passes go away too! But I doubt it. :(

That is a good point. I shouldn't let one ride be the basis of my entire trip. This is a last minute trip (I usually plan a year out and I just booked this last week) and a shorter trip for us. We still have our original plan to do a bigger trip next year that we are still going to do. So I will have to prep DD that there is always next time. I know she will be fine with it but I just want to make it "perfect" for her.

I think I'm going to switch 11/1 to Epcot.

Hopefully by the time you come Epcot will be opening earlier…that’s why I only made one Epcot pass, for today. Just too easy to hop from where I am and HS lines are murder right now.

We book two at HS simply because all the really busy rides and lines. It just seems easier

I will keep two days, not just for the BG, but because we do really enjoy the park. We love ToT and RnRC and are excited to try MMRR. We also enjoy TSL.

I'm hoping!

I was there in April with 6 nights 5 day PH tickets. I booked arrival day at Epcot - Stayed at Dolphin knew I was getting there around 2. 1st full day AK, 2nd day HS, 3rd day MK, 4th day HS. I did the two days HS for the RoTR BG issue and knew I would be hopping to Epcot every day so didn't need a reservation for there. I didn't get rise the first HS morning but did get it at 1 while sitting at HBD eating. Got it the second morning easy. I took it easy the second HS day, didn't get there early and was only there to hit Rise again and get the two rides I didn't get the first day there. I went back to the room/pool every single day no matter what park I had booked somewhere between noon and 2 and usually left the room again after 2 hours. I hopped every single day, one day 3 different parks just because. I rode every ride I wanted to. Went to MK the afternoon of my AK day so actually got most rides I wanted to from there before my actual reservation day. I'm going again in Sept. and will probably just book HS for one day but who knows. I know I will be hopping and I've ridden rise enough that it isn't priority for me.

Going in December and I think only one day, with the hope to hop over on another and be able to get a RotR pass on the one day. HS is one of my favorite parks.

We went in mid-April, but prior to that trip, last time we had been was in April of 2018. There was so much more there than last time. Last time it was almost a half-day park for our kids (9 and 7 at that time). This time we had 2 days of park reservations there and both of those days were full-days. For us, in addition to Star Wars, there was Toy Story Land and Minnie & Mickey's Runaway Railway, which was a lot of fun! Our kids aren't big Star Wars fans and they loved it, every aspect (we built droids, went on ROTR, Millennium Falcon and they even loved Oga's).

We found that switching park reservations the day before or even the day of from the higher-demand parks (MK and HS) to EP or AK was no problem. So I'd suggest keeping that 11/1 day as HS and then switching as you could closer. The only day where I noticed that Epcot had no availability ahead of time was Saturday. The other thing is that if you have DHS park reservations you can try to get ROTR at 7AM and at 1PM.

2 days at DHS will give you 4 chances for ROTR which should be plenty, especially if you follow the BG thread and practice in advance.

It’s really not difficult if you know where to click and don’t stop. People way overthink it imo.
I agree. I used LTE and got BG 5 without using time.gov, refreshing, closing out apps, or turning off Bluetooth. I did have 5 bars though (BLT). The 2nd day, we wanted a later BG so I did it from bed on LTE with 2 bars and hit join a split second slower than the first. Got BG 58 and it was perfect. We got to sleep in and was called after 12pm. I didn’t find it difficult at all.
