How many booked the "Special Deal"

I know that a couple of years ago when they had the 4 for 7 deal (7 nights room and tickets for the price of 4), that many folks that had APs booked the deal for one person, then added the other guests at checkin.

Also, just recently when fixing my reservations at Ft. Wilderness because I had 1 person for part of the stay, 3 adults for part of my stay, and two adults for part of my stay, I was advised to just add them when they arrived. However, they needed Magical Express, so she had to split the reservation, so that I was only paying for 3 adults for the 3 days that there are three adults.

So it sounds like adding people at checkin is pretty standard practice.
They told me this too-- we had a 3rd adult staying with us for only the 1st 3 days of a wk. I called twice to try to add them--once directly to the hotel on the evening of arrival when I knew our flight would be late. However, when we got to the hotel at 1 AM, it was full and they had assigned us to a King bed room (no daybed). We didn't get the rollaway bed until 2:30AM. They did change us the next morning when a 2Q room opened up. So, just be careful with that.

Mine is a campsite at Ft. Wilderness, so bedding is not a problem, since we provide our own :-)

i don't plan on accepting any calls from the 407 area code for some time.

if the ressie self cancels, so be it...

at that time, I'll contact WDTC to try & negotiate something (wouldn't surprise me if a legal eagle explores options).

nothing ventured, nothing gained:sunny:

So has anybody actually received the call? My reservations are still appearing.....

I would think that WDW has thought this out through the legal sense as well. I would be willing to bet they would offer some sort of % off or something if they would at any point be liable.

Would have been a fantastic deal for those garden cotteges though! They look adorable!

good grief, they just called and priced out my option to keep the ressie, or letme cancel but are only giving me 3 hours 15 minutes to decide, then they will aultomatically cancel. EEEK.

did they make you an offer you can refuse...

meaning full rack rate?

or did they sweeten the pot?

what was their excuse for not honoring ressie?

I received the call yesterday and tried my best to keep it at the rate or get other offers. Was denied... and treated with respect by Yolanda. It would not have been fair of me to take it out on her. It's Disney's decision and I had already messed up the ressies by accidentally missing a night and double booking the last night. After about 15 minutes of discussion with Yolanda, I cancelled - this is now reflected on the WDW reservations site.

Am I disappointed? Yes - it would have been nice to stay in a garden suite. However, after sleeping on this, I am fine with what happened. I knew it was an error and gambled to see if they would honor it. I didn't lose anything as I'll get a full refund, and we're still going with a AAA discount and the dining plan (plus I talked my DH into Wilderness Lodge instead!). JMHO

She calculated out the price difference to rack rate, and quoted me that. I could either book at that rate or cancel.

Hi- Im checking to see if anyone else received a mailed confirmation from Disney for the Special Deal. I received one in the mail on Friday for my 1st night. Did not receive anything for the other two nights. Did anyone who has gotten the call receive anything in the mail?

there were a couple of us who received mailed confirmation and/or emails from IPO...and got the dreaded phone calls.

Ditto - only I do not have a backup plan. I guess I will be holding out to see if a discount comes out for a value. It was nice to dream for a short period of time. Unfortunately, I knew this was probably my only chance to stay at BW. So Sad...

I got Jan 13th, 14th & 16th. I only received a confirmation in the mail for Jan 13th. I got email confirmation on all three.

I am officially contacted. My "dream" ressies was not until August 07 too. Are they working the list backward?

Hi,

Is anybody else having trouble contacting Disney Re: the special deal. They called three times last week and left messages, I have returned the calls, but the number is just an answering machine- and we apparently are playing phone tag...... anybody have another number?

Thanks for any help

So what was the verdict for the all the folks that got in the on that "Special Disney Deal?"
