How many bags do you use: fanny pack, backpack,cooler...?

We bring a midsized backpack that has mesh pockets for water bottles. We no longer bring a cooler. I bring one water bottle for each of us (me, DH and DS). If anyone wants anything else to drink, we just buy it.

In the backpack, I bring one change of clothes for DS, wipes, ointments and necessary meds, camera, wallet, cel phone. That's it.

Also, since we usually take a mid-day break, we don't need to schlep a whole day's supply of anything. We just go back to the room and load up again. Also, I tend to just wait til I get back to the room to have a soda. Or I'll bring one back with me and drink it before we enter the park or soon after entering.

Bringing snacks has turned out to be unnecessary for us since DS and DH really only want to eat ice cream. I might sneak in a small bag of cookies or something, but honestly, I'd rather just eat a churro! I budget in-park snacks into the food budget so it's not a problem.

Having the one bag means we can trade off and we usually get enough of a break from it that it isn't a hassle at all.

Good luck!

I also take a lot, cooler, stroller, backpack and everyone has their own fannypacks... We actually have it down to an art and it doesn't seem like a lot.

My 4 boys will each have there own fanny packs. I have a small backpack, and DH is still deciding what, if anything, he wants to take. :rolleyes1

We've never taken more than my tote bag (which is the size of a large purse). In cooler months sweatshirts get tied around waists when it warms up. We bring a bottle or two of water each--I carry 2-3 in my bag, and the guys each carry one or two by hand. I *might* be able to scrounge a packet of peanuts from the plane or a stray granola bar or piece of hard candy out of the depths, but otherwise we don't carry food. I have an umbrella that folds to about 8", that also lives in my tote, enough for DH and myself, DS *likes* to play in the rain (even as a young adult LOL!)

We refuse to haul a ton of stuff around.

We carry the "backpack of family fun." (named for an old Full House episode). It holds all 5 of our rain ponchos, camera, wallet, keys, etc. Water bottles can go in the 2 side pockets. If we roll them properly we can even fit a few sweaters in the bag. DH & I take turns carrying it. We never go on any outing without it.

hmmm... am I crazy for thinking I can get off lighter this trip??? Last time we used a huge diaper backpack and I attached my camera bag to my waist.

This trip I was hoping to get away with just one of those travel diaper totes to leave in the stroller http://www.thefirstyears.com/products/product.asp?pValue=4360 and then carry a small tote/purse for my wallet, camera, a few snacks, etc.

What do you all bring into the park for the day??? We are staying onsite and can't imagine needing a change of clothes for the few hours we are in the park. We also have the dining plan so will get 3 snacks a day from that.
