DHS Top 5 Must Dos

Thanks for your suggestions! I saw several of our Must Do's for our trip listed, but none of you got my Number 1. Read on to find out what it is!

Coming in at Number 5:

Indiana-Jones.jpg

This is one of our "Let's have Mr. Arb sit down for awhile" excursions, and something I remember doing as a kid. At least, I remember watching it on the VHS tape that my parents made of our Disney vacation. It's one of the attractions we have passed on during our last two trips to DHS, so I think it will be nice to have something new to check out.

Number 4:

As I was browsing a trip report over the weekend, Mr. Arb looked over my shoulder as I scrolled by the DIS-er's drawings from the Animation Academy and immediately requested for us to try this on our trip. He usually leaves it to me to plan out our park schedule/touring plans for the parks, so when he actually expresses interest in something, I want to make sure we find time to fit it in. I think we'll do this on our first day in the park, just to be sure we don't run out of time later on.

Number 3:

The ride that is on any thrill-seeker's Must Do list. I absolutely love this ride. I think we rode it three times last year, and I'd be willing to do it just as many times this year. My challenge for myself is to bring my camera and try to snap a picture on the ride when we're up in the tower and the doors open to expose the park. Maybe I'll use my old camera for that, just in case.

At Number 2:

tsmm-mainsign.jpg

You all should remember this from one of my first posts in the PTR about my Must Do's. This is in my top two never done and most anticipated attractions, and I'm almost as excited to take pictures in the queue as I am for the ride itself. I have a feeling we're going to be there too late to get Fast Passes on either of our scheduled days, but cross your fingers that at some point the wait will be under an hour.

And for my Number 1, absolute Must Do at Disney's Hollywood Studios:

Get a picture in front of Gertie the Dinosaur!

I love Gertie the Dinosaur (in case you couldn't tell from my avatar). It's probably the my most vivid memory about Disney from my first trip, and seeing it always makes me feel like I'm finally 'home.' I know that a pin of Gertie exists, and I regularly spend time scouring eBay and other sites to find one. I think I might have to buy a random pin this year and carry it around with me, just in case I see a cast member who has one, so I can trade.

Yes, I know, I'm an odd duck. :rotfl:

Next up - Epcot! I think I will do a top 6 for Epcot, since there is so much to see and do there, especially with the Food & Wine Festival. So lay them on me! What are you Epcot Must Dos?

I love your #1 at the Studios -- I think that is very sweet. :)

Top 6 at Epcot (Future World and World Showcase):

1. Soarin'
2. Test Track
3. Nemo and the Seas (because my DH HAS to have a picture taken with the Mine Mine's)
4. Film in China (DH just loves this as do I)
5. Voices of Liberty
6. Spaceship Earth (#1 in my heart because it was my late dad's favorite attraction at Epcot)

Nice must do list! I have to see the Indy show. My bf is a big Indy fan. :)

My Epcot Must-Dos:
Test Track (one of my favorite rides ever)
Soarin
Spaceship Earth
Kaki Gori from Japan - yum!

Gotta love Gertie! We always stop to get ice cream there. Good luck in your pin hunt! I hope you find it this trip!!

[SIZE="3I remembered my camera had a setting called "Nostalgia" and figured this would be a good time to use it!

I don't know if any of you watch Man vs. Food on the Travel Channel, but he visited this restaurant when he came to do his Maryland show, to finish their 6 pound shake:

I just love this setting. Great job with your new camera! You will take fabulous disney pics. :thumbsup2

Yay for being under a month now! :woohoo: And good choice with the KTTK tour - I think that 8:30 time will be perfect.

I'm loving the top 5 countdown! Mine for Epcot are:
1) Test Track
2) Soarin
3) Mission:Space
4) Living with the Land
5) Illuminations.

I can't wait to see what yours are! popcorn::

I went to Southern Maryland yesterday to visit with a friend, and I got to test out another setting on my camera - Sunset!

Epcot Top 6 Must Dos

I was hoping to make my next update when I got my Mickey Mail/corrected DME tags, but 24 days out and it still hasn't arrived yet. Let's see if making this post will help me pass the time and sprinkle some pixie dust on my mailbox.

It seems like there are quite a few stand out favorites among you guys for your Epcot favorites. It should be no surprise to you that at least one of them has made my list!

So now I present you with my Epcot Top 6 Must Dos!

Number 6:
maelstrom.jpg

Another ride that I have not (in recent memory) ridden. I know this is typically not a huge favorite of guests, but in order to preserve my title as full-blown Disney addict, I think I need to give it a shot at least once. Mr. Arb is skeptical of this ride because he doesn't want to get wet. You don't really get wet, right? :confused3

Number 5:
o5c9qx.jpg

(picture courtesy of glenbo123's Trip Report - go check it out, you won't be disappointed :thumbsup2)

I was a huge fan of the Roller Coaster Tycoon games when they first came out many years ago, and this seems like the same thing, with the added bonus of actually getting to ride the coaster. glenbo mentioned that the ride wasn't the most thrilling, but I'm a sucker for all things roller coaster.

Come on, how much do I really need to say here? I mean, who doesn't love Illuminations?

Number 3:
test_track_marquee_280_buiter.jpg

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip last year. This year, I'm hoping that we're able to get the front seats - we've only ever been in the back.

Number 2:

8833_593382449803_15201742_34348986_5248472_n.jpg

Heh, I imagine some people right now are furiously clicking unsubscribe at the mere sight of Beverly on their computers, but don't leave just yet! Some of you may remember that I wrote a friend of mine has a trip to Disney that crosses over with my trip. We have made plans to meet on our last day at Epcot...and I can't wait to introduce her to Beverly.

For fun - Here was Mr. Arb's reaction last year. He actually went for Beverly first, and I just didn't have time to warn him, what with having to race for my camera and all.

And my Number 1 Epcot Must Do:

disney_food_wine_festival_2010_guide-resized-600.jpg

Snacking at the Food & Wine Festival!

I am eagerly awaiting the start of the Festival (in only 16 days!), so that the pictures and reviews of the new food from the booths finally starts popping up on the boards. Things currently on my list to try: Godiva Chocolate Iced Coffee from Belgium, Lettuce Wraps with Roast Pork and Kimchi Slaw from South Korea and Seared Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Purèe and Mango Barbecue Sauce from South Africa (the latter of which I heard many great reviews about last year).

Next park: Magic Kingdom!! I am going to try to stick to 5 Must Dos, but there are so many things I love in this park, it's going to be difficult. Though I'll give you a hint, at least one thing on my list is going to involve food. ;)

So, what are your Top 5 Magic Kingdom Must Dos?

Loved your sunset pictures Arb! Especially the first one, where the reflection in in the water is so good.

Thanks for the TR shout-out! I do recommend trying Sum of All Thrills though, just know what to expect. I think you'll enjoy it.

A good top 5. I love that you thought to put Beverly on the list. And the foods that you highlighted at F&W sound great.

Thanks! I was glad I read about your experience with Sum of All Thrills before getting there ourselves, especially with your comment about the time limit for creating your ride.

I actually didn't mind Beverly last year. I mean, I would never pay to drink it, but I did not have the negative reaction that most other people seem to have.

Good job on your Top 6 (although we've never done F&W).

No, you don't get wet on Maelstrom...maybe a drip or two, but it is really nothing.

Ummmm, I don't love Illuminations. Sorry. :rolleyes1 I just think it's a bit outdated and can be a little boring. Don't hate me lol.

Nope, you don't get wet on Maelstrom. You do drop backwards though.

You don't really get wet, right? :confused3

No, not really. I teensy, drippy splash is all I've every experienced, and I ride this on all my trips.

So, what are your Top 5 Magic Kingdom Must Dos?

1. Dole Whip
2. Pirates of the Caribbean
3. TTA
4. WDW Railroad
5. Haunted Mansion

(#'s 3 & 4 have special meaning to me. I know they're hardly on many 'Must Do's)

Oops...I missed this earlier.

Top 5 at the MK:

Winnie the Pooh
Dumbo (for hubby)
Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Big Thunder/Splash (I couldn't just pick one)

Oh and MK Top 5:
1. The Mountains (is it fair to put 3 rides in one spot?) :rolleyes1
2. Haunted Mansion
3. POTC
4. Dole Whips!
5. Wishes

I absolutely LOVE your sunset photos....I am so tempted to buy a new camera now after seeing those. We are in need of one but are trying to wait until Xmas - yet our mini-trip is One month and 5 days away!!!

Please take some more practice photos and post!
