How many acronyms can we fit in 1 trip?MNSSHP,F&W,WWOHP,&HHN-Update 10.21-TR started!

Just stumbled across your PTR and I see you're a fellow 2009 Disneymooner! We also have an Oct trip planned (see my siggy)!
I love how your DH proposed to you - so cute! :lovestruc
Sounds like you have great ADRs planned and I'm loving your F&W pics from last year - post more! I haven't been to F&W since 2007 so very much looking forward to this year's festival. Also thanks for the link to the F&W thread!!

Looking forward to reading more! :cool1:

I got those DVDs, too!!! We've only had time to watch one so far, but I LOVE them!!

I actually did not get many pictures of our F&W Festival Food items, because we didn't get too many last year - I wanted more, but it was so hot almost every day we were there that I couldn't even think about eating food. It was one of the main reasons we pushed back the trip three weeks into the year this time.

Going to check out your PTR now!

I got those DVDs, too!!! We've only had time to watch one so far, but I LOVE them!!

I've watched them all except the Animal Kingdom one and the Disney Cruise Line one, because I know I've seen the two of them on the Travel Channel - I was really eager to watch the Undiscovered Disney and the Disneyland episodes because those were the only two in the set I'd never seen. But I could watch any of them 100 times and not get tired of them!

Joining in!! So sorry for your sister-- that must be so difficult at a time when she should only be focused on the upcoming baby.
I LOVE your engagement story-- Jaws is one of my favorite US rides!
We're going in early November and MIGHT just have to pop into Epcot for some F+W goodies! Right now, we're only scheduled for DHS-- more of a US/IOA trip.
I worked at an Indian restaurant one summer during college-- always used to sneak dixie cups full of Mango Lassi during my trip-- sooo yummy! That stinks that India won't be there this year!

Thanks for joining! Thanks for the concern about my sister. Things are going better for them. She's staying at her father in-law's house since he's been taking care of his mother, so she's happy to have a somewhat more permanent setting.

Are you excited to check out the new Harry Potter themed stuff at IOA?? It was so exciting going there last year and watch the progress they were making on the building, I can't wait to see how everything has come together.

How exciting about the new camera! That's going to be so nice to have for your trip! You should post some of your "test" shots here. ;)

I haven't had a chance to go out and take many pictures yet, but it's definite;y on my schedule for this weekend.

Sorry I've been MIA the past couple weeks! I took a summer class and I had a research paper due on the 15th and my final last week. I'm hoping to do another update when I get home tonight!

We've missed you. Hope the research paper went well. :)

Thanks! I think I did alright - I've been checking the website multiple times a day to see if he's put up our grades for the paper, final, or our class grades. No luck yet, but hopefully by the end of the week.

We're completely paid off! Now how will we spend our days?

On Monday I got confirmation that our Disney vacation is paid in full. Woohoo!! Once I see that zero balance, I always feel like I am able to reach a new level of excitement towards my trip. It also means that I am on or around the 45 day mark, and two weeks away from the final month of counting down. Who knew I could get so excited about paying a bill?

During the past few weeks when I have time to focus on my vacation plans, I've taken two things into consideration:

The first is what attractions have I never experienced in each park - there are some big ones that I mentioned near the beginning of my thread like Space Mountain and Toy Story Midway Mania. There are others that are just as notable like never having gone to a rope drop or eaten a Main Street Bakery sticky bun. I wanted to make a plan that would allow me to re-visit some of my old favorites, but also give me enough time to check out some potential new favorites.

The other big factor involves Mr. Arb. Back in December, he slid on ice that was covering the front steps of our apartment, and hurt he knee pretty bad. He's had pain on and off since then, but within the past few weeks it's really started to flare up. He's been concerned with how that will affect his ability to walk throughout the parks. So I wanted to add in plenty of shows and attractions which will allow him to sit and rest awhile, as well as time to take a trip back to our room in the middle of each day.

I don't know yet when we'll attend each attraction, but here's my park plans for the first three days:

Saturday, October 9
  • Arrive at MCO at 10 AM; take DME to POP Century Resort
  • Explore resort and grab lunch at Everything Pop
  • Visit Disney Hollywood Studios
  • Dinner Reservations at Jiko at 5:45 PM
  • Head back to resort or Downtown Disney
Sunday, October 10
  • Breakfast at Everything Pop
  • Visit Epcot - Future World
  • Lunch at Coral Reef at 12:05
  • Spend some more time in Future World, then head back to POP Century
  • Make sure our things are mostly packed for our resort change on Monday
  • Visit Magic Kingdom and eat dinner at Cosmic Rays or Pecos Bill's, and stay for Extra Magic Hours

Monday, October 11
  • Change resorts to Port Orleans Riverside
  • Walk over to Sassagoula Floatworks for a beignet breakfast
  • Visit Epcot - World Showcase/Food and Wine Festival for Lunch
  • 1:00 - Culinary Demonstration (Pastries) with Warren Brown and Mary Myers from CakeLove
  • Return to resort to officially check into our room (if it wasn't before we went to Epcot)
  • Dinner at Raglan Road at 6:45 PM
  • Visit Disney Hollywood Studios for Extra Magic Hours

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the CakeLove deminar - I can't register for it until Friday, and it's the only one we've decided to attend this time around. Wish me luck! I'll post the rest of my schedule soon!

Plans look good! Definitely a good idea to know in advance that you'll need to plan downtime just in case your DH is in a lot of pain-- fortunately there are plenty of attractions that let you sit for awhile-- Liberty Belle Steamship, HoP, American Adventure.

Oddly enough, all three of the things you mentioned are attractions we've yet to visit. I think the Liberty Bell Steamship is one I'm most excited about. I figure there will be a lot of great photo opportunities on there.

Plans look great. And here's some extra pixiedust:pixiedust: for CakeLove.

It worked! I was able to book it this morning =)

:woohoo: for being paid off! Plans are looking good! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm really happy that Disney sets it that you have to pay by the 45-day mark because it makes the last few weeks that much better.

Daily Plans, Part II

In my last post, I gave you the plans for our first three days. Here's the rest of the trip!

Tuesday, October 12
  • Breakfast at Whispering Canyon Cafe at 9:35 AM
  • Visit Animal Kingdom and eat lunch at Flame Tree BBQ
  • Return to POR (if needed)
  • Visit Downtown Disney and eat dinner at Earl of Sandwich
  • Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Wednesday, October 13
  • Visit Magic Kingdom for Keys to the Kingdom Tour*
  • Lunch at Columbia Harbour House
  • Take carriage ride around Port Orleans resorts and relax at POR/Start packing to leave
  • Dinner Yachtsmen Steakhouse at 6:30 PM
  • Visit Epcot for Extra Magic Hours

Thursday, October 14
  • Visit Islands of Adventure (and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!!!)
  • Eat lunch at Mythos or Three Broomsticks
  • Explore Universal's CityWalk
  • Visit Universal Studios for Halloween Horror Nights

Friday, October 15
  • Finish packing and check out of POR
  • Meet up with friends at Epcot
  • Lunch at Le Cellier at 12:45 PM
  • Visit Disney's Hollywood Studios
  • Leave for MCO for our 6:27 PM Flight
  • Head home to Baltimore

We're both big fans of DHS, so we may try to fit in another visit to the park either on Sunday or Tuesday, depending on how Mr. Arb feels.

* I need to make a decision regarding the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I have the option of leaving at 8:30, 9:00 or 9:30 AM. Magic Kingdom opens at 9:00 on the 13th. I can't decide if I would rather book the 8:30 tour time and get into the park before it opens and take advantage of being some of the only people there OR if I should book the 9:30 start time and still get to the park early to experience my first Rope Drop (and/or grab a sticky bun fresh out of the oven from Main Street Bakery). Thoughts?

I like the rest of your plans. I would do the 9:30 so you can make rope drop/opening show and the goodies from the Bakery. The only problem I see if your 12:45 at LeCellier and then going to the Studios before your 6:30 p.m. flight. Lunch probably won't be done until at least 2:00 (if you get seated on time) so it doesn't leave a lot of time to get to the Studio and do anything before you have to leave for the airport.

That's very true. Maybe I should switch and go to DHS in the morning, then go to Epcot for our lunch reservation, and just hang out there until it's time for us to head back and get the DME

I think I would go with the 8:30 tour just to be able to get into the park first and to cut down on "lost" park time. How long is the tour? Maybe you could finish it up with a MSB treat. :thumbsup2

Subscribed and all caught up!

I'm partial to your 10/14 plans...that's my birthday!

Can't wait to hear more!
