Hey All!! Sounds like there are still a lot of questions about the Celebration BBQ. So - here is another one.

Do you think it will be around all year? We are not going until the end of September. Last year we went at the same time and at that location they were preparing the Mickey's Halloween Round-up deal instead of Woody's round-up. Our DS3 LOVES Toy Story and this would be such a fun addition to the trip. Does anyone know how long it will run??

Thanks!

I'm thinking it will be gone by Halloween/Thanksgiving to make way for Santa, but I'm not sure how they are setting it up back there... We have ressies for early May, will be fun to see what it's all about!

I think it depends on how successful it is. If the round-up is a great money generator, they may keep it year-round (or at least until the official start of the holiday season). When it comes time for you to make PSs, ask Guest Services then if it will be around when you arrive. Since it hasn't even opened yet, it's difficult to gauge if/when it will close.

From what we heard during our tour.... they actually are putting in a BBQ restaurant there that will then be used for the "round-up"...... that's what we heard last week.....
Only got one shot thru a hole in the wall & here it is:

They have a full serve dinner type of restaurant there so they can do catering, special events, holiday stuff, a new movie may come out, or a weekend extra eatery. It will depend on economy and how the birthday roundup thing works out. I will never try to guess what management will do next.

I was all excited about this! I am sad now to find out it is not really a character meal. The characters don't actually come table to table.

They don't? Where did you hear this?

Just called today since we were going to make an ADR. They said they do not sign or go table to table & they the characters ONLY host it. Not sure what hosting means exactly.

It might be like what Aladdin's Oasis was (or what I have heard Pirate's Dinner Adventure is like). The characters never came around, but put on a show onstage. There was some audience participation though (I went once as a kid and distinctly remember them picking 3 middle-aged men from the audience and having them belly-dance onstage).

I am thinking you are right. I was thinking also similiar to the Backyard BBQ @ Wildernesss lodge in Disneyworld.

Thanks, DizNee Luver, for posting the small glimpse of the progress! When I was in the Park last month, all I saw were a couple of tractors & lots of mud  . It looks like it's really coming along!

I hope the bbq sticks around for the holidays...I'm planning a surprise trip for my mom, and she was all happy that there'll be a bbq in Frontierland again :earsboy:

You're very welcome...I wish I could have peeked a bit more!!!

The opening date is still set for April 01st. Does anyone have the contrary to report?

TIA!

Disney dining told us that its Jesse and Woody and they do 2-3 skits on stage. No pics or autographs or table visiting. Its the same prices almost as the character meals, cant remember exactly. We decided not to do it for those reasons. We thought it was like a character meal.

The price is $28.99 for an adult and $18.99 for a child. Does not include tax or tip.

well that sucks no auto or pics yet charging 28+ for adult uhhh NO disney needs to fix that
I may or may not do it now but id use the food plan if we do
it just seems more of a rip off already

JadeDarkstar, I totally agree with you on the price but that is what we paid for Goofy's Kitchen if not for a voucher. $64 for two adults but free with voucher.

I can see Ariel's and the buffets being so much as you get a full meal but the Plaza Inn party and this new one just is too much for me. Then again I remembre paying for two adults $25 for 2 turkey legs, a bag of chips, 2 drinks, and corn on the cob with butter that cost about 5 times what I can make at home at least.

There is tax on this BBQ? And how would one tip for this type of dining setting? Furthermore, for that price, the tip and tax should be included.
