How long were you at the hospital before your babies were born?

With my dd, we got there about 5:30 pm, she was born at 2:09 am (about 8 1/2 hours or so, I guess). With my ds, I was induced. We got there at 10 pm. My SO's brother asked me when a good time to be at the hospital, he didn't want to get there too early or too late. I laughed and told him you can't judge with babies, but since he really wanted a guesstimate, since I was going to be induced and all, I told him my ds would be there around 12 pm or so. He was born at 12:12. I should've played the lottery that day.;) My ds's uncle got there at 10 am, btw.;) So, about 14 hours with him.

Water broke at 330pm, got to the hospital at 4 and she was born at 6..so two hours until she was born...it would have been sooner but they had to wait for an operating room to get her out.

With my first, my water broke at 1PM, got to the hospital at 3PM and didn't have him until 5:00 the following day, after pushing for 2 1/2 hours!

With my second, I showed up for my 7AM induction at exactly 7AM, and he was born at 1:40pm.

We went to the hospital at 7:15am to be induced... Dr. sent us home at 9:30 since it didn't look like anything would happen soon. Went back at 1:30, still nothing happening - all afternoon. Ended up with emergency C-section, DS born at 7:54pm. Never really was in labor.... ;)

#1 - went into labor at 12 noon when my water broke, went to the dr and was sent home. I was admitted to the hospital at 1 am. My son was born by emergency c-section at 11:57 pm. So I was at the hospital about 23 hours before he was born /36 hour labor.

#2 - went to be induced at 7am. Had him by c-section at 10 pm. 15 hours.

With 1st DS I went in at 7:00pm and had him 9:00am the next morning. With 2nd DS I went in for induction around 6:00pm and had him the next night at 8:35pm.

With DS-almost-16, I checked into the hospital on a Monday morning to be induced, and DS wasn't born until almost 9:30pm WEDNESDAY night! So that's over 60 hours.

I went into the hospital at 6 am to be induced (water broke 24 hrs earlier and no labor) had him just shy of 2pm. So about 8 hrs start to finish.

Water broke at 1:30, we got there at 3:30, Sam was born at 5:45, but by emergency C-section. We didn't even have time to call our parents until it was over!

Only 18 hours before they did a C section. For the times, I think I got off pretty lucky :)

With DS #1 I went to the hospital around 4:30 AM after contracting the whole evening and night (Thanksgiving night I might add) and he was born at 5:05 PM that day. So, about 12 hours- not terrible.

DS#2 though.....sigh.......whole nother story. I was admitted at noon on a Wednesday after the doctor decided I should be induced then and there. He was born at 9:42 PM the next day! I will be honest and say that Wednesday was a breeze- they just put some medicine on my cervix to soften it- no contractions, no pain or anything. But I did have to be in the hospital all stinking day. The next morning the pain started around 12 (the started the pitocin at 8:30 or 9). Got an epidural at 3 and it didn't work all the way. They gave me another. Still didn't quite work (lower left quadrant of abdomen not numb at all). He was finally born and we figured out why it took so darn long for him to decend and press on my cervix to contract it-------he was a "mere" 11 pounds 2 1/2 ounces!

To quote the midwife, "Oh my......if we had known that you could have had a c-section yesterday."

Yeah, thanks.

DD was 22 hours of labor, About 4 at home 18 in hospitol.

DS was 44 minutes from start of induction to birth.

Twins were 5 weeks of labor. Yes 5 weeks of labor. I was in the hospitol on Mag sulfate for 5 weeks, and was 4 centimeters dilated from 31 weeks on. And I mean 5 weeks on a monitor.::yes::

Water broke at 2 am as I was crawling back into bed after my nightly trip to the bathroom. ;) Went to the midwife's clinic at 7:15. Walked to the bathroom and back to the bedroom and hard labor started at 8am. DD was born at 3pm on the dot in the water. Avery held out long enough for my parents to drive from Iowa to Michigan. :) They got to see DD be born.

my water broke at 7am with my dd had her at 2:28am about 21 hours of labor 10 hoursof it hard labor.

witrh ds It was once again started at 7am and I had him at 3:30pm so 8 hours and all hard labor.

My sister's water broke on a saturday and didn't have her son till 1am the following thursday 11 weeks prematured.

I just felt like I needed to give you a hug after reading your post. Although I know any mom would do what you had to do, it just sounds like it was probably a draining and emotional experience to be hooked up on a monitor for 5 weeks hoping your babies hang in there!!! :grouphug:

... I was in and out of the hospital (short trips) until I hit eight months. Then I stayed in the hospital for the whole last two months  before healthy DS was born. :jumping3:

DH and I spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years in my hospital room that year!

(At least there was no fighting over whose family to visit on the holidays that year :teeth: )

DS#1- We arrived at hospital at 6:00am, DS was born at 8:41 am...so under 3 hours.

DS#2- The doctor wanted me at the hospital asap since baby #1 had come so quick. We arrived around 11:15am and I was stuck at 5.5 cm all day(no pain at all). Finally at 6:00pm I agreed to pitocin, it got started at 6:30, contractions kicked in at 7:00 and DS was born at 8:12pm. So I was at the hospital for 9 hours, but only in hard labor for about 1 hour.

Broke water early Thurs morn (3am). Went to doc that Thurs and he sent me home.
Went back to hospital at 9pm when the contractions got bad. They finally took DS by C-section at 7am Fri after I was fully dilated. He wouldnt fit through the birth canal.

My first I went to the hospital around 11 am and had my son at around 6:30 pm

My second, I went in around 9 pm or so and had her a few minutes after midnight.
