I went in on sunday noon and had my son on Monday at 11:58,almost noon, wasnt in actual hard labor until about 3 or 4 in the morning, then whew, hard work for the rest of the time ,what a wonderful moment ,when he was born!
I arrived at the hospital at 7 AM, DS was born 11 mins later. My DH thought I was faking the pain as they wheeled me to a delivery room, even though I was practically giving birth with my pants on (not recommended, LOL!)
With DS, I started having contractions on a Thur. around 8:00 am, went to the hospital around 2:00 am on Friday, didn't have son until 1:05 am Sat. by c-section, I don't dilate well, never got passed a 7. Labor total 41 hours; hospital time 23 hours.
With DD, I had strong braxton hicks all day, started having true contractions around 8:00 pm, by 9:30 pm hard labor, went to the hospital around 10:00 contaction 1-2 min. apart (only dilated to a 1), DD born 11:59 pm - c-section. Hospital time 1 hour 59 minutes.
2 1/2 days plus another 2 days.
I went in for an induction that failed; pitocin, cervadil, the works. So, I was offered a choice of a c-section or going home and waiting a few more days. I opted to go home. Went back in a couple days later to be induced again, and again it failed so I ended up with the c-section anyway.
with DS#1 started labor at 6 am, went to the hospital at 10 am.. had back labor and most of the morning. cord got wrapped around jis neck. we stopped labor at 3pm.. had a c-section at 5.
DS#2 was in a big hurry... started labor at 9 pm..got to the hospital at 11:05 pm .. DS#2 was born at 11:15pm.. the nurse kept yelling at me because they didn't have time to warm up anything or get the Doc..
Had mild contractions all day, starting at about 5:30 am - but not strong enough that I would really be considered "in labor" (Dr. told me these "early labor" contractions can last for days). Water broke at 9:00 pm & things went FAST from there - at hospital around 9:45 pm, DD born at 12:05 am. Not bad, considering when we arrived I was at 4cm and they were telling me I had a long way to go! First thing my midwife said after DD was born was "If you have another one, get here quick!" We'll see how the second one goes in 4 more months!
With DS9, I was in the hospital 27 days before he was born. Total of 30 days before I was back home. A LONG TIME! I was admitted at 30 weeks and knew I would be there until he was born.
With DS4, we checked into the hospital at 12:01 AM and he was born, via emergency c-section, at 2:18 AM.
Thanks. I never watched so much Jerry Springer in my entire life. By the time the babies were born. I bet they recognized his voice more than my Dh'S!!
My mother had it very easy.
My Dad told me they were at a party next door to the base hospital when labor started. They walked next door and my Dad didn't even have time to go back to the party. Less than an hour start to finish.
With my brother hear water broke on Wednesday but no labor. She had him on Friday at 6:03 am without feeling any contractions at all. Just the urge to push and it was over. He was 5 weeks early and 4.5 pounds.
Good thing she didn't have more because she would never have made it to the hospital.
DS #1-20 hours
DS #2-2 1/2 hrs-I work at the hospital-just walked over on my lunch break!
DS #3-29 minutes-told my DH to run those RED LIGHTS!!!!!!!
DD- 4 LONG YEARS!!!!! We adopted!!!!!
DD#1 - My water broke at 31 1/2 weeks and I was having mild contractions. Contractions stopped with rest and fluids. Kept me in the hospital until 34 weeks when I was induced at 8AM. Epidural at 5PM, DD born at 11:18PM after 2 1/2 hours of pushing.
Fast forward 11 12/ months
DD#2 - Felt lousy all day, realized I was in labor at 7:30PM. Got to the hospital at 9PM fully dialated after being told several times by the midwife to stay home. DD was born at 9:40PM - about 20 minutes of pushing.
Twins were 5 weeks of labor. Yes 5 weeks of labor. I was in the hospitol on Mag sulfate for 5 weeks, and was 4 centimeters dilated from 31 weeks on. And I mean 5 weeks on a monitor. [/B]
Oh my, I definately feel for you. I also experienced preterm for 7 weeks, was in the hospital for almost 4 weeks. I only had he mag sulfate twice. once at 24 weeks, then was put on terbutaline pump and then again at 27 1/2 weeks. I delivered at 31 weeks. I cant imagine staying on the mag that long. It made me sooooo sick.

I arrived to be induced at noon. (I had a choice be induced or be monitored for 4 hours. I can't stay still that long ) I really felt nothing until they broke my water at 6pm. By 6:30 I told the nurse the baby was coming. She told me there was no way he was on his way. It would be several hours before he was ready. I insisted he was coming. She looked and immediately paged the Dr. By 7:27 Nick was here. The joke throughout my pregnancy was I would only be in labour an hour and a half. The Dr kept saying that since he was my first it would about 12 hours. Just going on family history I figured 1 1/2 hrs. My grandma's longest was 6 hours, Mom's longest 3 hours, so I calculated mine as 1 1/2!
The most time I spent in the hospital before having DS was 6.5 hours. With each child after the time was reduced by about 2 hours until #4 - we were there for about 20 minutes! No chance to even take my history or anything. My Doctor wasn't even there yet. Labor wasn't even that long - about 4.5 hours total. I don't plan on having any more but my dr suggested that Iif I ever did to get there at the first sign of contractions.
