How long to do water parks?

We're doing Typhoon on a weekday, keep in mind we don't do a couple of the slides, how long do you think it would take? I'm thinking 3 hours?

We're doing BB on a Saturday, again, we don't do the real big slides, I'm thinking we'll be done by 1-2PM with lunch. Seem doable?

we usually spend 6-8 hours. the kids love it, we ride the river several times. we skip some slides, but do others more than once. Heck we even spend 1-2 hours in the play areas alone, so add in lunch and I would say your time frame is too short. (if it were my family)

We usually get there at the park opening and leave around 1pm just as the sun is starting to get really strong. Keep in mind, it will take a while to get back to your resort.

I've read a lot of advice that suggests you get there when the water park opens and leave early afternoon-mid-day when it's starts to get real crowded. I think that is what we are going to do since this will be our first time at the water parks. :flower:

::MickeyMo I guess it really depends. Last year we got there when Blizzard Beach opened and had everything done by 1pm. It was great - we headed back to the room, cleaned up, and then hit the parks! ::MinnieMo

we're planning on doing one water park day when we go in August (haven't decided which one yet) Would it be a mistake to try and go on a Saturday? We'll only be there a few days (arriving midday on Wed and leaving 1st thing in the morning on Sunday) so we have Thursday, Friday and Saturday to choose from.

We are usually out of there by 1 or 2. We love the Water Parks but it get's very hot and crowded. Maybe I am getting old but I also find the waterparks exhausting. I am usually ready for a nap when I leave. :cool1:

We (two empty-nesters) arrive at opening and are usually done a few hours later. I float around the lazy river, DW does a few slides, maybe does the sharks (at TL) and we splash around in the wave pool. Living in The Valley of the Sun, we don't spend a lot of water park time just lying out.

We went to TL for the first time this Easter. We got there at opening (9 am) and stayed until 3. We did all the slides in the first hour or so, and spent the rest of the time in the lazy river or in the wave pool, plus lunch. It was the most exhausting day of our trip. My 11 yr old dd, who is an athlete and rarely tires out, fell asleep at the table during dinner that night. She had a wonderful time in the wave pool!

Our family got to BB at opening last Saturday at 10AM and left by 2pm. It really depends on the crowd levels that day. I think it depends on your family. My DH and DD 5 could have stayed longer but my DD7 and I were done. I may depend on how much they enjoy water, pools, ocean.

I'd reccomend hitting all of the bigger slides first thing in the morning and then some of the other attracts like the wave pool and lazy river a little later.

No offense, but I'm curious why it seems that everybody needs to plan right to the last minute. I'm asking because I really want to know--what happens if your family is having a great time at Typhoon Lagoon, and doesn't want to leave? I have spoken with dozens of kids on my boat who, when I ask what their favorite thing at disney has been, and they say "the pool".

we're planning on Typhoon Lagoon on a Mon in Aug - will get there at their opening and stay till about 3pmish
planning whispering canyon brkfst that day
after TL we'll head over to AKL, check it out, quick dinner at Mara and back to WL for the night (Im thinking we'll be exhausted)

I will adjust then, but with crowd levels now changed to high for May, there is no doubt in my mind, I need to plan as much as I can. I'm not going to be frazzled and wondering "did I miss something?" As the first trip for the girls, they may love and adore EVERYTHING, I know I will.

We usually get there at park open (10 or 10:30) and stay until about 1-2 p.m. We have found that we have done everything we want to do once or twice by that time and the parks are then getting so crowded that the waits for the slides are too long. So we leave. I have had great luck leaving the water park at that time and heading over to Animal Kingdom (we have a car). Usually a LOT of people are also leaving Animal Kingdom at that time so it gets a bit emptier in the afternoon.

Definitely agree with you! It is exhausting. Those steps are murder. I definitely have not prepared myself ahead of time this trip. Thankfully, they have the lift chairs at BB. These usually don't get too crowded early in the day. Lines get longer as the day goes on. Wish me luck at TL!

We usually spend the whole day at the water parks, last year we arrived at Blizzard Beach at 10am and stayed right up until 5pm. We usually spend a couple of hours doing the slides, wave pool and Lazy rapids then sit down and have lunch for an hour or so then while the parents (because im 18) relax me, my brother and 3 cousins usually hit the slides again, great fun.
