how long to close on add-on direct through Disney?

argh, the search function is down again...
can anyone tell me how long it actually takes to close when you do an add-on direct through Disney?

i just added on this week, and was wondering how soon i'll be able to borrow points.
i believe they set some kind of "projected closing date", right?
is that when you actually close?
or do you usually close much earlier?

the best thing is to call MS - they can tell you if you can use your points now or not.

You get points for this year - so I don't think you need to borrow - borrowing generally can't be done until closing - but as I say call MS now.

that's the thing, MS told me i can't borrow yet until my deed is recorded.
they didn't know when my closing would be... so i was hoping someone might share their experience on how long it actually took them to close?

Usually closing takes place 15 business days after you sign your add-on papers. I was able to borrow points prior to closing on my most recent add-on. I called my guide and asked for a waiver to be filled out, which allowed me to borrow the points I needed to complete my reservation. It took about day for the waiver to go through, but it did, and I borrowed the points. So, if you are trying t make a reservation and have some time remaining until closing, call your guide!!

i haven't even gotten my documents yet though, so i have to wait for those to come first... heh.
my guide said they are really swamped, and the documents might be a bit delayed getting mailed out 'cause they're preparing so many right now due to the BCV sellout.

I did an add on two weeks ago on a Friday. My guide said to call MS on Monday to borrow the new points to complete my reservations. I waited until Tuesday, because Mondays are busy days for MS. They said "No problem, it is just a little more work for us to do it before your closing." I was on hold for about 10 minutes, reservations completed. I just received my Documents this week and won't send them back until Monday. So just call MS and good luck.
