How long to add on points at sold out resort?

We called yesterday (5/16) for 170 add on points to BWV or BCV - any use year. Keeping our fingers crossed!

I swear I would if I were you!! But, no one is getting September points at the BCV. I would call my guide and take any increments that I could get. But, then again, look at Lexiefern, waiting since July!!!!

I got an email (looks like mass marketing) from DVC about an hour ago that there are 900 VWL points available for add on in my use year (February). We already own at VWL so I am still leaning toward OKW.

It appears to be spam and it says "As an owner of The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, we're letting you know about this opportunity to purchase an additional Ownership Interest first. As of May 16, 2005, only 900 Vacation Points were available in your Use Year. So hurry to make your wish come true!" If you PM me your email I will forward it to you.

I read on another thread that apparently the same type of email went out regarding HH points as well.

I wonder if these are legitimate...

momsully was gracious to e-mail me her WL e-mail and I sent an e-mail to the web site listed (DISNEYVACATIONCLUB@DVC.CHTAH.COM) asking why I hadn't received any such memo's. Keep you posted if I hear anything!

I also called the 800 # and a recording comes on and says;
"Welcome to the Disney Vacation Club"..la..la..la call may be monitored..la..la..la.. Sounded legit to me??

I received the same e-mail for our February use year, and it is totally legitimate. I spoke to my guide this morning and we are doing a small add-on at VWL.

Thanks! I left a voice mail message for my guide asking why I wasn't included on the distribution. I'm wondering if it's now too late to add 25 points to my total. It is so frustrating to be left out! In fact, I just left an email with DVC this morning about not getting the three latest issues of Vacation Magic as well.

I have an August use year. Am I better off telling my guide that I would take any use year?

Telling them Any UY will give you a more flexible and faster opportunity to get the points..just remember you will need to manage 2 different UY's.

I believe that if you want less than 150 points, you must add-on within your original use year. If you purchase 150 or more, you can get any use year.

I got the add on bug when I found out in April that I would be getting a nice bonus at work sometime in August. Looking at this post and others I figured it would take 3 - 6 months for a 50 point add on at BCV April UY. I figured I could float the cost on my credit card for a month if the waitlist came through on the 3 month side so I called my guide. After getting the speech that BCV is such a small resort and EVERYONE wants to get in there, low and behold a magical 105 BCV April UY points were available right then and there. I took the 50 that I wanted and now I know why home equity lines are so very convenient.

I also got an e-mail about OKW (I think) and VWL having add on points available. I don't remember all of the details but it was fairly recent and after I had gotten my BCV points. Maybe I got the e-mail because my original contract is at OKW and/or my UY is April. We seem to have an easier time getting add ons compared to the summer month UYs.

So please update the list and add my wait time at about 30 seconds.
