How long to add on points at sold out resort?

ok, my guide just called us AGAIN.

we have a June use year. she says in order to get our 50pts we have to take the '04 june pts (and essentially, eat them since we can't use them or bank them). we'd pay maintainance on those unusable pts as well.

is this right? it makes no sense to me. this means i'll have to wait to add on until after my use year rolls around?

i could use some schoolin' on this

You know - it's kind of a funny dilemma we have here. We have this thread tracking our waiting times for adding on through Disney. And then you have the ROFR thread for people wanting in or adding on. We need ROFR to get what we want, yet you want the people on that thread to be happy too.

It has gone pretty quiet here after what seemed like a burst of activity a week or 2 ago. Hopefully we start hearing something soon. Now I am wondering if I should have just told my guide to give me any UY instead of just Dec (at the time, I think he said he had some for April UY, just not the amount I needed). It seems like quite a few are waiting on Dec, and a few non-Decembers have come through lately.

Just keep in mind, to do an add-on of less than 150 pts, you already have to have a "master" contract in that UY....so, you could only do "any" uy if you have them all. Does what I just said make ANY sense (it was pretty convoluted)?

I understood that - after reading it twice - LOL!!

We have 250 in Dec. My guide asked me if the UY mattered to us - he asked when do we usually go to Disney - because he had some for April. So from that I inferred that we could take any. I just told him Dec to keep them all together and easy to track.

Yes... someone needs to be ROFR'ed, or Disney forecloses on a non payment or (what I have heard 2 weeks ago)..people with severe financial burdens or serious sickness,who call Disney.... Disney will "consider" buying back the contracts..directly! Another RUMOR!! I thought they couldn't do that??

I have been sincerely supportive to those on Beca's re-sale thread. Of course...my UY hasn't shown up there ...yet.

Yes...ditto what Beca said..if adding on fewer than 150 pts. must be in same UY as the master contract.

Not sure why anyone should be sad in this process. The seller gets what they contracted for. The buyer gets their deposit back and goes hunting for another contract (The buyer knew the risk when they made the low offer - its all part of the game). DVC gets points to sell at a profit to its wait list. The wait list gets satisfied.

I waited 6 weeks on the waitlist for WLV (WVL? LVW?, whatever) and Friday 04/01/2005, 259 points became available for a December UY, also some for a September UY were available. I waited 1 day too long for a resale at TSS!

I got the bug bad!!!!

Just added two 120 point add-ons at SSR, and a 30 Point VWL.

I'm on the waiting list for BCV as well.

I had been about to buy the December UY 150 point addon from TSS, but I waited 1 day too many, and it was gone, so I consoled myself with the above add-ons.

Once I get my BCV (looking for December or September UY) add-on, I be done, with a full house!

Just Added 25 Dec uy points at BWV this evening. I called and left a message with our guide yesterday afternoon and she called back tonight and said that they were available so we purchased them at $89 dollars a point. This was our first add-on since we purchased in 1999.

We got 150 BCV with April UY
It took 33 days.
We just called her yesterday to tell her we were tired of waiting and wanted to switch to BWV, but we were surprised with this news instead !!!!!!

Not too many Contracts out there for BCV in a Dec UY, So I know I will be ......
