How long is your average stay at WDW Resorts?

Looks like I'm way in the minority in that I like 5-6 night visits max. While we all love Disney World we were ready to get home after our recent 5 night stay. We stayed at the BLT and loved everything about it but we were all worn out from all of the parl hopping. I can't imagine spending 14 nights at Disney. Myabe it's because our three kiddos are still really young and we worry a lot about them getting lost in the crowds. It definitely adds a lot of stress. While it is the most magical place in the world it's still not home :).

Usually about 12 nights, with a split between 2 and 3 resorts, plus a night on each end for travel. Our travel to Disney World consists of a five hour trip through two mountain passes to the airport, a 4 hour flight to Seattle and a 5.5 hour flight to Orlando.

In April, we're doing a six day trip to be with nieces and nephew for their Spring Break. That's going to be a short trip.

We typically average 11-12 days per trip. We used to go for about 14-15 days, but my in-laws have since moved to Florida. So we now spend a few days with them before heading to WDW.

Our 2007 and 2010 trips were both 5 nights. Those were both taken in the summer, and we felt like we were really rushing to get all the parks, DTD and water parks in. So this time we're going for Christmas and staying for 8 nights. We won't be doing water parks, and we'll be spending at least a day resort hopping to see Christmas decorations. Very excited to finally be staying this long!

Usually we stay around two weeks.

This year we stayed 18 nights.

14 nights is the maximum amount of nights for one reservation - when we stay longer we just split it into two different reservations.

We've traveled by car, plane and train......no more car and plane....we're train travelers....

We never leave Disney property, always stay on site and never in over 40 trips rented or used a car.....

the longer the stay, the more relaxed our trips are.....we enjoy the resort and pool and come home refreshed and relaxed....

I have only ever flown to WDW and usually do a park on at least one of my travel days. From budget limitations to my inability to be away work for very long, we haven't ever done long trips. It's been 3, 4 or 5 nights every time. Clearly 5 nights is the best, but I have managed to cover a lot of ground on shorter trips by touring full on commando style and only riding the highlights.

We just came back from a 5 night trip and really wished wished we'd had a resort day. Next time we're going to try and work that in and visit a water park. :thumbsup2

When we go for that long we don't do a park every day more like every other. So I find it more relaxing than going 5 days and trying to cram everything in. Somedays we go to the WP other days we just hang at the resort maybe go to DTD a bit.

We like to do 8-9 nights and we always fly. Our time is split about 50/50 between the parks and the resort. We like to spend alot of time relaxing by the pool, so we usually hit the parks in the morning for an hour or two.....head back to the resort for an afternoon swim......then head out to the parks again after dinner :goodvibes.
Same here .... Usually 8 nights

We started with 5 nights, then we went to 6 and then we went to 7. Now we are looking at doing 9 next year.

Our average is only 2 nights. We go 3-4 times a year for a weekend getaways. Once a year we take a 5 night trip.

The shortest time we've stayed is 5 nights when DH and I took our 20 mo old granddaughter for the first time and the longest was 15 nights because we just kept putting off going home. Now its usually 8 or 9 nights. I'm with a pp who said the longer the stay, the more relaxed. We too like to have some resort time, especially at a deluxe.

7 days at WDW is the longest especially since DH is not a Disney fan.

This time we're doing 6 at WDW and 2 at Universal.

We've done longer vacations elsewhere such as Hawaii, Washington state, out west but Disney is so expensive and all.

We went for 6 nights and June. It was a wonderful trip, but felt so short! I was just curious how many nights everyone usually does at a WDW Resort. Do you do the parks everyday? Do you fly or drive?

We fly. Driving would be about 12-13 hours one way. DS4 doesn't ride very well and we save up a little extra in order to fly. We do tend to visit a park on most days but usually have 1 or 2 half-days thrown in for rest and pool time. Our average stay is 6-7 nights, but we also visit annually so there's no urgency to try to "do everything."

We generally fly but we did drive once. I think our average is about 8-12 days, probably 10 days. We don't normally do a park on our travel days and we go at least once a year.

My minimum for going as a family with DD is 7 nights. We fly. We got hooked on longer trips 2 years ago when that buy 4 nights, get 3 promo came out. Seven nights is ideal to me. That allows some down time, like a rest day mid-trip, and I feel a lot less rushed to see everything we want to see.

I did do a 4-night trip with my best friend back in December and I don't think I'd ever want to do any less than 4 nights. We were able to be pretty energetic and stay out late, so we saw a lot and had a great time in our 4-nights. We arrived early, and flew home after 5 p.m. on the last day so we got in a good 5 days of touring.

5-6 nights is our average, longest was 11 and shortest was 1. If we had to fly in I'd definitely wind up doing one long trip per year, but being so close we prefer booking two or three shorter resort stays each year. :goodvibes

Mine is usually 10 days, but this trip it's actually 13 days. Am in the process of possibly doing a 2 week trip next year. Would probably split the stay between 2 resorts.
