I visited the website of EuroDisney, and I dont feel like there is much to do for a 5 yr old. Am I correct? Has anyone been there with a young one like 5 yrs old? How long is enough? 1 day, or maybe 2 ? We'll be there next July (in case in summer it has more shows/things to do).
Thanks in advance

Hi sumguy and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any thread and if you have a number of questions just start a new thread for each one :)

We have never been to WDW so cannot compare, but have had no difficult with our troop DD 7, DS 5 and DD 3 having a wonderful time at Disneyland Paris. Last summer's visit was for a week.

If you visit in later July park is open to 11pm, before that it closes at 8pm.

The first time we went it was for our youngest fifth birthday and we had 2 and a half days there - he thoroughly enjoyed it, we didn't have enough time to do everything at the parks and missed out most of the shows, came home and booked up again. I suppose a lot will depend on what rides you will do, my DS wanted to do all of them and then wanted to do them again several times over which can take up a surprising amount of time, especially I would imagine in the summer when the queues are longer- (we've always been out of peak season).
The follow up visit was for 5 days and that gave us plenty of time although there are still some things we haven't done, hence the next trip is for 6 days although we are planning one (if I have my way) or two (if I don't ) excursions out of the park.
I'm sure you and your 5 year old will have a fabulous time.

August last year went with whole family including 3yo and 5yo girls for 5 days, they absolutely loved it! The younger one was a little wary of that characters at first but that soon wore off and she was autograph hunting with the best of them :)

As for the rides, there are more than enough to keep the little ones occupied, and they will soon tell you their fav ones, so be prepared to spend a LOT of time in Fantasyland :rotfl: :rotfl:

Believe me, 5 days will not be anything like long enough! :wizard:

I agree with what every one else says. They will be plenty to do, you could spend the best part of a day in fantasyland, you will have shows and parades to watch, characters to meet. we spend about 5 days there.

We visited last year with a 7yr old and 4 yr old. We had 2.5 days in the parks and it was not near enough for us to do everything we wanted to! I think you will find PLENTY to keep your 5yr old happy for 2-3 days at least:)

It's not just the rides - there's loads to look at and explore. You'll be amazed how quickly the time goes.

Welcome to the DIS!! :wave2:

Hi sumguy and welcome to the DIS. :welcome:

I agree with the others, there will be more than enough in Fantasyland alone to keep your 5 year old happy! pixiedust:

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Will consider spending few days in DLP. Does anyone recommend a cheap hotel there? Is it practical to stay in Paris and commute by train? The advantage I see in this situation is that we wont have to spend consecutive days in DLP, but as we find suitable. Thanks for the help

I guess I should post my questions in a new thread, and I will do so now. Thanks
