We will be at WDW for Thanksgiving. We are staying at CSR. Thanksgiving Day we plan to go to MK for EE to see all the Christmas decorations. We have PS for our Thanksgivng lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe at 12:50. How long do we need to give ourselves to get from MK to WL?? What is the best way to get there?? We will probably want to go back to CSR after lunch. Do buses go between resorts or do we need to bus to one of the parks and then bus to our resort???

Thanks for your help.

Debbie

Done it many times, I guess 20 minutes If you post this on Transpotation thread, ChipNDale is a bus driver and can answer all of tis.

There's a boat that will take you directly from MK to WL. The boat ride is about 5 minutes. The wait at the dock could be up to 10-15 minutes, load time, yada yada...

If you've never been to WL, I would suggest leaving at noon. Tour around this beautiful resort... then check into dinner.

Also. If you're a little early or late wouldn't be a problem.

From WL to CSR, I'd suggest taking the boat back to MK, then catch the bus to CSR.

Enjoy!

The boat from MK to WL stops at Ft. Wilderness first. It takes more than 5 mins. I would allow at least 15 mins. plus dock wait at MK.

Hmm. I don't recall a first stop at FW. We were there in June, and have been many times before. Maybe it depends on which boat you take...

Just returned from Ft.W and the boat from MK sometimes goes to WL first and sometime to Ft.W, I could never figure out the schedule.

That said I would leave MK no later than 12:00. I would rather be early and have a chance to look around the resort, gift shop - they have beautiful Christmas ornaments, sit in the huge lobby, near the fireplace and enjoy all the holiday decorations. The WL is beautiful during the holidays. (or you can always people watch - my favorite!)

I believe it has something to do with what time of day it is. We went last month, and took the kids back to WL for an afternoon nap, and we stopped at FW first. If you're going to WCC for lunch, I think you might have the extra stop too, due to the time of day. DO take time to explore the WL...the lobby is awesome!

Okay. This is starting to make some sense now. Boat routes can change depending on the time of day... At the BW area, they used to follow one route in the morning, and a different in the afternoon. It was very confusing...componded confusion of boats at verious launches heading in all different directions. Now they just have one route in that area.

At WL, obviously I'm not certain of the specifics of the route. If they change the route in the afternoon... then a noon-ish boat from MG to WL might be unpredictable.

Again... The best advice would be to leave at noon. If you get there early, then relax in one of the rocking chairs by the fire... have the kids hunt down those hidden mickey's (there's one in the rock of the fireplace chimney ;) ) Play guess the music. The front desk can give you a list of the lobby music...

We were last at WL in Feb. of this year. If I remember correctly the boat went from FW to WL to MK in the morning and early afternoon hours. At about 3:00 pm the boat changed WL to FW to MK.

I timed the trip from WL to MK and it took 7 minutes from WL dock to MK dock. This of course could be the fastest trip, but I would think 10 minutes would be typical.
