How long have you stayed in a DVC resort?

The last few winters we have stayed for several weeks at SSR in a studio. It is just my wife and I. Breakfast and usually lunch and some dinners are fixed in the studio. We do bring along an electric fry pan. We figured it is cheaper eating one good meal out once a day than buying a lot of extra points for a one bedroom. We now have 1205 points that we use throughout the year. DVC is our home away from home, especially during the cold winter months of Wisconsin.

You are my new idols. 1205 points!!!! :thumbsup2

Wow, you people are awesome. To stay a whole month is amazing! I think I shoukd try to stay longer on a trip. Like I said we tend to chop up our points to make several stays during the year. We live next door to WDW. Some times when we visit the parks I'll see people with their DVC stuff on and I would wish I was staying at on of the resorts. I love getting up and going to a park and then head back to our room for lunch and a rest.

Sully, to stay in a studio for 42 in a studio is impressive. Being just the two of you I can see staying that long in a studio. I think it would get hard for me and my wife and two kids. We always stay in a studioo to stretch our points out but I would like to have more points one day so we can stay in a one bedroom.

The longest we've stayed so far is eight nights. We take one long trip per year staggering them so they all within a 12 month period so we get two trips per AP. Next week we're doing a 10 day split stay at BLT/BCV, can't wait.

We like split stays. We get "tired" of one resort if there too long. One time, we were at BCV for 8 days and couldn't wait to move over to AKV. After that, we said we'll never stay at one place more than a week.

Due to my work as a commissioned salesperson, our stays are 4 or 5 nights at a time. On our last trip in January we met a couple from New York that were at the half way point in their TWO MONTH stay in a studio at OKW. They stay for two months of winter at their home away from home every year. I hope to be able to do that when I am no longer working. It all starts with a dream.

Last summer we stayed 16 nights. 3 at OKW and 13 @ BLT in a studio. This summer we are doing 21 nights. 7 @ BC and 14 @ WL:cool1:

Jan '11 - 3 nights VWL Studio

May '11 - 2 nights BWV 1 bedroom (Pixar Anniversary Celebration!!! Last minute addition)

May-June '11 - 20 nights total: 11 nights BCV Studio, 2 nights VBR (2 Ocean View Inn Rooms), 7 nights Kidani 1 bedroom

December '11 - 6 nights BLT LV Studio (waitlisted for Std View and will be 7 nights if comes through)

Total for 2011 - 31/32 nights over 4 DVC trips.

The weekend point difference is almost insignificant anymore. Prior to this summer our longest stay on property was 17 nights at OKW in 2 bedroom.

So far only 8 nights. I am hoping to do two weeks sometime soon. My Dream: enough points to spend a month in the winter!!! A girl can dream:cloud9:

I got this idea from another thread. I am wondering how long some of us have stayed in a DVC resort. Two, three four weeks?
The longest I have ever stayed was three days because we split our points up for several stays during the course of a year. I find it fascinating if someone has actually stayed at a resort for a month. Well, who has?

7 nights.

My first stay at BLT is going to be 9 nights. I can't wait! I have two weeks at the beach this year to distract me though.

We're new owners at BLT and have our first trip planned for 8 nights in a two bedroom. We've seen some postings about some owners using their DVC as part of their "snowbird" plans. We really like this idea. Only reservation is that we're also animal lovers and we have 3 cats, 2 dogs and one turtle. Main concern is our dogs for 1 month or longer. Would not want to put them in kennel that long.

We stayed for 3 weeks in 2004 when we first bought into DVC. Stayed at a 1- bedroom OKW and had a wonderful time.
