How long have you known your best friend?

I've been married to her for 20 years and known her 25.

And they say romance is dead !!

I had known my best friend since I was in my early 20's until she died at the end of last year of breast cancer. So by now that would have been just over 30 years !!

She didn't even tell me or her DH and kids that she had it - kept it to herself.

I met my best friend Kelley in 1991 when I was 18 and she was 20. I got a saturday job in a department store and she also worked there but full time. We hated each other for ages, and I actually asked for a transfer to a different dept then I didn't need to see her as much! When I left the job a year later, we bumped into each other and went for a coffee, and the rest is history Don't know what I'd do without her now

My mum and my best friend's Mum used to take us to baby clinic together, so I've known her for 53 years! Although we live in different towns, and have done for over 30 years, I still consider her my best friend.

I met my best friend 27 years ago when we started working for the same company at about the same time, she is godmother to Vicki and I am godmother to one of her girls. We lived around the corner from each other right up until last month when she moved about 10 miles away, and we both still work together for the same company 27 years later.

This thread is making me old, I have known my best friend for 16 years. I met her when we lived in Germany when I was 11.

I met my best friend at primary school, we've know each other for 32 years now!!! I took her to DLP to celebrate our 25th anniversary.

We have gone through everything together including schools, and wdw,

the hardest part being losing her mum three weeks ago, I had seen her nearly every day of my life.

I wouldnt swap her for the world

Other best friend Lizzie I met in school at 14 so that's 22 years.

I have known my best friend since birth so that is 38 years now! There is not a single event in my life that she has not been a part of and I, hers. That is such a great feeling! Almost what I imagine being a twin would be like. We have both moved away from our hometown but we remain as close as ever and we try to vacation together once a year.

I've known my best friend since I was 3. We went to kindergarten and primary school together and part of high school. We haven't always been best friends, there have been times when we were anything but best friends. But since uni we got closer again even though we live in different countries!

My best friend Linda was my supervisor when I started my first job 23 years ago. She terrified me in her clompy scholes!

Even though I left that office 2 years later we've stayed in touch. When I went to work in Greece for a while she came out and spent the first week with me to make sure I was settled.

Her kids are 18 & 16 amd mine are 4 & 3 so we've never done family things together but when it comes to nights out and a good laugh - we're first on each others list!

My new best friend I've know for about 3 years but only started getting close about a year ago. I can't believe how well we get on and our DH's too. We spend some part of every weekend together and our kids all love each other. I hope we're best friends for the next 40 years!

In total I have 3 really good friends - I'm very picky!
