I am on the fence about keeping my wishes dessert party during the MVMCP for the parade only, grabbing some desserts and then heading out to get a better view than TT of the fireworks. I would not consider this for a regular wishes dessert party where there was no parade viewing, but honestly the only reason I want it is for the parade spot, which is primo, and not for the less than premium spot for fireworks viewing.

So does anyone know about what time the parade ends and you head back to tomorrowland terrace? I am just wondering if we could do the parade, not fight for a railing table but grab one near the exit, have desserts for a half hour or so and then head out about a half hour before fireworks to stand in the hub. Does anyone know if this will work out?

Thanks!

After it begins, it takes about 40-45 minutes until the last float exits MK in Town Square (location of the VIP viewing area.)

that is quicker than I thought. then if there is 2 hours between beginning of parade and beginning of fireworks my plan should work out ok.

Do you know how long I should be sure to give it before making my way to a better fireworks viewing location on main street or in the hub?

When is the timing 2 hours between the parade-start and fireworks start-time?

Are you talking about a PARTY night?

yes party night. MVMCP has not been announced but i looked at disney's website and it says for MNSSHP the boo to you parade is at 8:15 and wishes is at 10:15.

Looks to me like:
Boo to You Parade start is 8:30.
HalloWishes start is 10:15.

PLUS, you'd want to be ready to see "Celebrate the Magic" (Castle projection show) at 10PM.

not arguing because I see the reference to 8:30 everywhere else but Disney's website :-p

While absolutely ANYTHING is possible, it will help to know that the Disney Website is about the LEAST reliable source
for accuracy of those on the web.

Again, the Disney site CAN BE (and is) accurate for many things, it is infamous for (consistently) some of the least trustworthy
bits of info... and has been that way for years.

Consider that the Disney Website, for years, has posted that the park buses begin running "an hour before the parks open."
Terribly bad info to get wrong.
Thousands of guests with early-morning ADRs and tours have not known that they could get to the parks on buses that ACTUALLY begin running, every day, between 6:00 and 6:30AM.

The site suffers from a lack of consistent, diligent EDITING.

no I believe you! I would take first hand reports any day. just saying i'm not crazy for thinking that ;)

I agree.
And, that was really my point.

You (and most guests) would EXPECT that the Disney website would be the most trustworthy.
It is really a terrible black mark on Disney guest service that it is such a poor source.

Lisa and @Robo: Boo to You does run at 8:15 for the October Parties.

It was 8:30 runs for the September parties.

The MNSSHP thread does have the correct times in the first post. :)

so given that, and it looks like check in if you don't do the parade is at 9:30 for the dessert party, I'm wondering if we could grab some desserts and just go rather than staying at the party, finding a good spot for the castle show and then fireworks. crazy?

oh huh. I am wondering what they will end up doing for december parties. if it is 8:15 and 10:15 that extra 15 minutes could be crucial for my plan. I guess more "wait and see."

I'm just thinking that to be honest i mostly want it for the parade viewing. just not sure if it is "worth it" to me (I know none of these parties are really worth it for the food lol).

I'm wondering if they moved it to 8:15 precisely because of the premium parties - it was too crunched for people to only have 45 minutes between "party check in" and fireworks and they wanted to offer a full hour?

Not crazy at all. I'm keeping this very same option open if the view is less than what I hope it will be. The big value for us is the reserved parade viewing. Even the food portion of the dessert party is not something we're overly excited about. Don't get me wrong I enjoy a good sugar rush as much as the next person but it won't break our hearts if we don't stay long for desserts. We can just as easily stop and use up some snack credits anytime before or after fireworks if the mood strikes.

The Christmas Parade was 8:15 the past few years. They'll probably have the same timing.

You must have been the one who planted that thought in my head! lol. I KNEW someone was to blame!

Honestly if we can just grab some desserts to go and go sit out on the plaza lawn that might just be ideal all around. It seems like people do go sit on the lawn to watch the fireworks and castle show. If there is enough time to get through the line and grab some stuff and then head out to the plaza with it (I saw a report of someone's kids grabbing some stuff and heading out immediately to go ride buzz before the fireworks) and find a nice spot on the lawn it might be best of all worlds. The party is EXPENSIVE yes but it's just for me + kiddo and I paid that money ages ago, it is paid and forgotten. The parade viewing looks primo. I am not much of a sweets person either but if we didn't do the dessert party we'd probably grab a treat at sleepy hollow anyway. It also seems like not a horrible time filler between parade and fireworks. People say it takes "too much time" out of the party but honestly I'm not sure what I'd do between parade and fireworks and if i don't need to show up earlier for parade it actually seems like a time saver to me... esp if the spacing is a full 2 hours, which should help the timing work out. I guess I'd feel obligated to grab some dessert because I am paying for it but quite honestly I am not really going to be hitting the buffet multiple times. I am not that much of a sweets person.

That's too funny. As soon as I started reading your post I was going to comment on that person who's DH and DS went off to ride Buzz while she stayed with sleeping baby. And I totally agree about the cost. I paid for it months ago so that $$ is nothing but a distant memory.

it's silly, right? lol. Like if I had to shell out the $126 today I might not do it, but I paid for it like 4 months ago and I am having a hard time giving up the parade viewing and having to show up so early for a spot (I believe I was there 90 minutes before the 8:30 parade when I went to see boo to you in 2014... but it was definitely more than an hour... for a prime curb spot on main street). I see some earlier reports saying the parades were empty but that was early September. I don't think the parade will be empty for us given that the wishes party sold out so quickly but I don't know. with a true 2 hours of spacing it seems if the parade is over by 9ish, head back to TT, can probably be out of there easily by 9:45 with some treats and go find better fireworks viewing. Like I said, I don't see this as a "multiple trips to the buffet" thing. Maybe I'll just bring a little plastic container to make for easier transport of desserts to our picnic location outside. But I am really SO TORN lol.

and yes that bug has been wandering around for quite some time and now it is front and center. I know I have plenty of time to decide but now it is agitating me that i haven't.
