How long does it usually take to close on a resale?

WE went to Vero for spring break and really like it. Then I see some resales that are reasonably priced and started thinking..we'll never get in at 7 mo. for spring with our BWV points, SO maybe another add-on (don't tell DH yet). For those of you who have used either Timeshare Store or any other resale broker--how long is the process, generally, from start to getting the points in our account. Thanks in advance. Gayle

Our resale went through in about 3 weeks. This is not typical- most seem to take about 4-6 weeks. It all depends on how motivated the seller is in closing the deal quickly, and whether you have financing or cash readily available. We experienced excellent service with Jaki @ atimeshare.com

Ours closed in about 4 weeks, but it took two more weeks for the points to show up at DVC. Normally it is only about a week between the two, but there was a mix-up with the seller's bank in our case and they had to go back and fix some paperwork.

The nice thing was, Jaki at atimeshare.com kept us completely informed the whole time and, when things finally did get straightened out, gave us an exact day she promised our points would be there. She knew we were waiting to make a reservation with them, so went the extra mile to push everything through and the points WERE there the exact day she said they'd be!

We signed our agreement March 5th. Looks like we will close in about two weeks. So about six-seven weeks. I gather from this board that it'll be another week or two before the points show up at MS, and another few weeks after that before we see our materials,

It is apparently taking a little longer right now than it has in the past. Disney needs to take care of some stuff, and they are very busy. The seller is very motivated (signed all her paperwork and returned all her phone calls immediately so far) and we are paying cash - so all the holdups to date have been Disney.

On both of our resales it was 5 - 6 weeks from the time we agreed on price to when we made our first ressie.

We signed our contract 2/11 and actually closed 3/28. We were able to make ressies 4/4.

We signed the contract on 2/4, closed on 3/8. Made ressies on 3/22, didn't try any earlier, got the deed today - 4/12! Used the Timeshare Store.
