How long do biopsy results really take?

I had a biospy done last Friday. I am an impatient person and I don't like to wait! LOL
They said 2 weeks, but that seems pretty long to me.
How long would you wait before checking in?

It took 3 weeks for me to get a confirmed diagnosis. They sent the specimen to 3 other medical facilities because it was rare and wanted other opinions, I guess. They were able to tell me right away that it "appeared to be benign" but some won't even go that far because of the liability issue.
it is hard to wait. :grouphug:

I know its not going to be bad but I just want to know for sure.

My mom had a surgical biopsy on a Friday this summer and she got her results the following Tuesday when the surgeon checked the incisions/bandages, etc.

If they said two weeks, I would wait that long and give them a call. For what it's worth, I have had zero luck with pathology labs. I have had two biopsies done this year and the tissue samples have been sent to five separate labs and none of them can decide whether or not the tissue samples are benign or cancerous. I hope you have much better luck.

Depends what they are looking for... I have a rare disease (mitochondrial disease) & it took six weeks to get results back... so it really just depends what it is they are looking for & where it has to go :( I know the waiting is very hard...

My mother had one a month ago, and got the results 6 days later.
